The new Irish road movie “500 Miles” has added three experienced actors to its cast as filming gets underway. The family drama follows two brothers who go on a journey across Ireland to find their estranged grandfather. Irish actress Clare Dunne and British actors Michael Socha and Dexter Sol Ansell have all joined the production.
Dunne is well known for her lead roles in previous Irish films “Herself” and “Kin.” Socha starred in popular television shows like “Once Upon a Time” and “This Is England.” Ansell has an upcoming role in the “Game of Thrones” prequel series. The boys will be played by Bill Nighy as their grandfather and Roman Griffin Davis, who rose to fame in “Jojo Rabbit.” “Game of Thrones” star Maisie Williams also has a role in the movie.
Directed by Morgan Matthews, whose past works include “X+Y” and “Williams,” the film explores family reconciliation against Ireland’s scenic backdrops.

He may have the same piercing baby blues as The End of the F***ing World's Alex Lawther and The Good Doctor's Freddie Highmore, but believe it or not, neither Lawther nor Highmore is the actor who plays Otis Milburn on the Netflix series Sex Education. Otis - an inexperienced high school student who decides to team up with a bad girl and open an underground sex therapy clinic at school, thanks to the advice bestowed on him by his sex therapist mother - is actually played by Asa Butterfield, and if you don't recognize his name, then you should. The 21-year-old English actor began his career at the ripe age of 9, and we have a feeling that Sex Education is not the first time you've seen him on the screen.

Benedict Cumberbatch will star in “Gypsy Boy,” a big-screen adaptation of Mikey Walsh’s best-selling memoirs about growing up in the British Romany community and becoming a boxer. Morgan Matthews, the two-time BAFTA Award-winning director whose first narrative feature was the highly acclaimed “X+Y” (a.k.a. “A Brilliant Young Mind”), will direct the feature, which is scheduled to start production in the summer of 2018. Playwright and screenwriter James Graham, who has two plays in London’s West End this fall — “Ink” and “Labour of Love” — worked closely with Walsh on the screen adaptation. Two new photos have been released for the fourth season of Netflix's Black Mirror. The first image teases the Star Trek-inspired episode "USS Callister" and the second on is for the episode titled "Arkangel". ‘Black Mirror‘ is a show that I absolutely love. In what is the closest thing to a modern day ‘Twilight Zone‘, creator/show runner Charlie Booker‘s hypnotic series has managed to captivate audiences in it’s first three seasons. The show – which was originally aired on BBC – was expanded to a six episode format after Netflix picked up the show for it’s third, and now fourth season, and is highly anticipated to say the least.
Season 3 was backed by some incredible talent, and based on the trailer for season 4, this trend seems to be continuing. In particular, this upcoming season provides a hefty dose of talent in the director’s chair that includes: Jodie Foster, John Hillcoat (The Road, Lawless), David Slade (Hannibal), Colm McCarthy(Peaky Blinders) and Toby Haynes (Dr Who), Tim Van Patten(The Sopranos, Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire).

If you're a fan of Black Mirror drop what you're doing and watch the first teaser trailer for Season 4 now! Hell, it looks like there's a Star Trek inspired episode! The promo basically gives us the titles of the episodes in Season 4 and offers a little snippet of footage from each one. I'm definitely intrigued by what I'm seeing! It looks like we've got a great new season of greatness ahead of us.
Black Mirror taps into the collective unease of the modern world, with each standalone episode delivering a sharp, suspenseful tale of the myriad of ways technology has transformed all aspects of human life — in every home, on every desk, in every palm; on a plasma screen, monitor or Smartphone.

A Brilliant Young Mind tells the story of a mathematically gifted British teen on the autism spectrum as he prepares to compete in an international math Olympics.
Nathan (Asa Butterfield) is gifted at math but struggles with relationships, including with his caring but overwhelmed mother Julie (Sally Hawkins). Nathan has the more functional form of autism once known as Aspergers but he is also still struggling with the trauma of the accidental death of his father Michael (Martin McCann), who was killed in a car wreck while Nathan was in the car. His mother has done her best to raise him as a single parent but Nathan was never as close to her as his dad and it has been difficult for them both. A chance to enter the International Math Olympiad brings an unconventional math coach into Nathan’s life and introduces him to other mathematically gifted kids.

Many nonfiction filmmakers have turned to fiction filmmaking, but it's rare if not unheard of for them to adapt their own documentary into a narrative feature. That's the case with Morgan Matthews. This is a reprint of our review from the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival, when the film was titled "X + Y." It goes into limited release today. There’s something impossibly charming about Morgan Matthews’ “ A Brilliant Young Mind,” his debut as a fictional feature-length narrative director. Much like the film’s core message and encompassing theme, this charm doesn’t come with an equation that leads to an easy solution, which only amplifies our satisfaction that much more. We do know, however, where the charm doesn’t come from: James Graham’s screenplay, full of simplistic formulas designed to turn on the waterworks and dip the picture in sweet, sentimental, syrup until it begins to shrivel up from all the glop. With the scales of sappiness too unbalanced, “A Brilliant Young Mind” is prevented from entering the higher echelons of family dramas explored from a child’s perspective. It’s...

Teenage math prodigy Nathan (Asa Butterfield, Hugo) struggles when it comes to building relationships with other people, not least with his caring, widowed mother, Julie (Oscar-nominated Sally Hawkins, Blue Jasmine), who grapples with her own loneliness.

Now, neither Marvel nor Sony have put out a press release confirming this just yet, but El Mayimbe is rarely, if ever, wrong, and considering that Butterfield was on the shortlist and said to be the frontrunner, there’s no real reason to doubt this report.
