"Saturday Night" is an ambitious, stressful film about the 90 minutes leading up to the first-ever episode of "Saturday Night Live." It's been criticized a bit by "SNL" superfans for being slightly inaccurate in some places, but that's forgivable considering that director Jason Reitman was hoping to make a compelling film first, an accurate film second. Certain personalities and conflicts had to be exaggerated for the sake of a more compelling story.
Case in point: Gabriel Labelle was amazing in the role of a young Lorne Michaels, who's trying to keep the production from falling apart despite the growing suspicion that this show is doomed to fail. Labelle gives a great performance, but he doesn't give a pitch-perfect impression of what the young "SNL" creator/showrunner was truly like. This, it turns out, was by design.
"I wanted to meet everyone and interview everyone," Labelle explained in a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon.

It’s true. Doomsday TV has exploded into a genre of its own, captivating audiences with bleak scenarios, moral quandaries, and the steady drumbeat of the apocalypse.
It’s everywhere, from zombie-infested wastelands to dystopian societies on the brink of collapse.
While these narratives can be thrilling, they also come with some emotional baggage.
(Courtesy of Netflix)
Let’s explore why we can’t seem to get enough of the end of the world — and why it might not be great for our collective psyche.
Doomsday stories tap into something primal: the fear of the unknown.
Shows like The Last of Us and Silo allow us to confront existential dread in a controlled environment.
Watching Joel and Ellie navigate a brutal, post-apocalyptic world offers a way to process anxieties without actually living through them. But let’s be honest: recent years have sometimes felt apocalyptic enough.

Well, if you have been keeping tabs on all the recent rumors and were thinking that Troy Baker’s involvement in Naughty Dog’s new project could only mean The Last of Us Part 3, you might want to take a seat. According to the latest reports, it’s true that Baker will be working with the studio again, but not in the way many fans were hoping.
Fans are excited to see what Baker will take part in. | Image Credit: Naughty Dog
However, instead of playing Joel Miller in The Last of Us 3, Baker’s next role seems to be attached to a whole new project directed by Neil Druckmann. While fans might have been hoping for the return of their favorite survivor, this news could be a bit of a gut punch for those who still hope to see Joel in another chapter in The Last of Us saga.

As filming continues on Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps in Spain (shooting is expected to wrap over the weekend or early next week), some more photos from the set have found their way online, giving us a better look at Pedro Pascal suited-up as Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic.
Though the Gladiator II and The Last of Us actor is still wearing a black hoodie to hide the top half of his costume, his blue pants and white boots are visible, along with the signature grey streaks on the sides of his head that have become a permanent fixture of the character in the comics.

Although Pedro Pascal had been acting for years before getting the role of Prince Oberyn Martell on Game of Thrones, that was the part that catapulted his incredibly successful acting career. We're not going to be talking about how traumatizing Oberyn's death was, back when "The Mountain and the Viper" aired on HBO in 2014. Instead, we are going to take a quick look at every role Pedro Pascal has had since his Game of Thrones breakout and talk a little bit about each character.
Pascal has worked at a feverish pace since Game of Thrones. His resume is lengthy, which means you may want to take a seat with a snack and drink before reading our list. Just what kind of range does Pascal have in movies and on television? Let's find out!

Arcane is an animated series based on the League of Legends video game from Riot Games. It's run for two seasons on Netflix, has fans fawning over it, and has officially come to an end as of Saturday, November 23. There is no third season of Arcane planned. This is the end.
Or is it? While Arcane may be over as a show, Riot Games has no intention of leaving behind the League of Legends universe as a place where it can set future TV shows and movies. According to Variety, it's already bought a season's worth of scripts from writer Justin Piasecki in preparation for a live-action League of Legends show. This doesn't mean that we're absolutely going to get such a show, but it does indicate that Riot is serious about committing to this universe. It's probably seen other successful video game-to-tv translations like The Last of Us and...

The gaming industry has seen its fair share of high-profile departures, but few have sparked as much speculation and controversy as Amy Hennig’s exit from Naughty Dog in 2014. The creative force behind the Uncharted series left the studio under mysterious circumstances, taking with her nearly eight months of work on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

In a revealing 2019 interview, she opened up about the toll that game development was taking on developers, though she carefully avoided pointing fingers.

Following yesterday's long-awaited trailer debut, Universal Pictures has released a behind-the-scenes featurette for the live-action How to Train Your Dragon movie (via Toonado.com).
As well as teasing lots of new footage from the movie, we get our first proper look at Nico Parker's Astrid, Gabriel Howell as Snotlout, and Julian Dennison as Fishlegs. There's also plenty more of Chief Stoick the Vast, the role Gerard Butler reprises here after previously voicing him in the animated trilogy.
There's a great deal of excitement to see Toothless in a live-action setting and filmmaker Dean DeBlois has done what looks like a terrific job of casting this new version of the beloved story.
The studio no doubt hopes this movie launches a new franchise and, not coincidentally, 2025 will also see the debut of the Isle of Berk land at the upcoming Epic Universe section of Universal Orlando. We'd imagine there will...

We got the teaser trailer yesterday, but Universal Pictures and DreamWorks are keeping the fun going with a behind-the-scenes look at the new live-action How to Train Your Dragon movie. In a new video, director Dean DeBlois takes you into the world of Berk.
On the rugged isle of Berk, where Vikings and dragons have been bitter enemies for generations, Hiccup stands apart. The inventive yet overlooked son of Chief Stoick the Vast, Hiccup defies centuries of tradition when he befriends Toothless, a feared Night Fury dragon.

When “Euphoria” eventually returns for Season 3, Gia won’t be part of it, Gold Derby can confirm.
Storm Reid shared the news with Rotten Tomatoes at the Governors Awards red carpet Tuesday night, revealing that she will not return for the upcoming season of HBO’s Emmy-winning drama series. She played Georgia “Gia” Bennett, younger sister of Zendaya‘s Rue, in the first two seasons.
“I’m very excited for Season 3,” Reid said when asked about “Euphoria,” which is scheduled to go back into production in January. “Unfortunately, Gia’s not returning to the third season, but I am so, so indebted to the cast and the crew of that show, to HBO. ‘Euphoria’’s a really special thing and I’m so glad that that’s a part of my legacy and that I was a part of such a cultural phenomenon … I can’t wait to see what Season 3 has in store.

The main cast of The Fantastic Four: First Steps is currently in Spain for its last couple weeks of shooting and Pedro Pascal has been spotted on set as Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mister Fantastic.
These photos were taken before cameras were rolling, but we do get to see the Gladiator II star rocking Reed's iconic grey hair and the blue team suit beneath his jacket.
It's unclear what this location is doubling for, though the modern architecture should lend itself well to the futuristic New York City this story takes place in. Set photos haven't revealed as much about The Fantastic Four: First Steps as we'd hoped, though Marvel Studios deserves credit for keeping the action under wraps.
Asked earlier this year why he agreed to play the Marvel Universe's smartest man, Pascal said, "Mainly, because of the cast that I would be part of. Matt Shakman, the director,...

It’s only a minute long but the first How to Train Your Dragon teaser trailer confirms so many elements about the live-action version. Toothless is basically Toothless from the animated films, Hiccup looks like fans expect him to, and even the finger placement as Hiccup touches Toothless for the first time matches the animated original. (A YouTube commenter pointed that out.)
Mason Thames (The Black Phone), Nico Parker (The Last of Us), Nick Frost (Truth Seekers), Julian Dennison (Deadpool 2), and Gabriel Howell (Bodies) star. The cast also includes Bronwyn James (Wicked), Harry Trevaldwyn (Smothered), Ruth Codd (The Midnight Club), Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy), and Murray McArthur (Game of Thrones).
Gerard Butler reprises his role as Chief Stoick the Vast from the animated films for the live-action adaptation.

From three-time Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Dean DeBlois, the creative visionary behind DreamWorks Animation's acclaimed How to Train Your Dragon trilogy, comes the long-awaited live-action reimagining of the film that launched that now-iconic franchise.
Following several leaks (both of the camera phone and HD variety), Universal Pictures has finally released the official teaser trailer and poster (via Toonado.com) for this gorgeous new take on the 2010 animated classic.
Neither shows off too much but both sneak peeks make it clear that Toothless will look almost exactly like he did in the previous How to Train Your Dragon movies. Every studio on the planet learned from Paramount's mistake with Sonic the Hedgehog, so this is the right move even if he doesn't look as "realistic" as House of the Dragon's far scarier beasts.

Nick Offerman’s Ron Swanson was certainly a highlight of Parks and Recreation. The character managed to break all stereotypes that were put on him, starting the series alone and opinionated and ending it with a family and still just as opinionated. Although his character does grow in more ways than one, he doesn’t ever lose his essence, simply turning from individualistic to a family man.

Offerman has been known for being extremely like his character. The actor enjoys woodwork and is more than a little similar to Ron when it comes to personality. However, there is one aspect where the two are of very differing opinions: politics.

As the old adage goes, the truth is often far stranger than fiction. But in Samantha Strauss' upcoming Netflix show Apple Cider Vinegar, it would appear that sometimes a lie is even more bizarre. Based on the noodle-twisting true life tale of how Australian influencer and wellness guru Belle Gibson duped millions online into believing she'd cured her terminal brain cancer through healthy living (she was never diagnosed with a brain tumour to have been cured of one), Strauss' six-episode limited series is set to see Kaitlyn Dever take on the role of the duplicitous social media star. And you can check out the first trailer for the show below:
Advertised as 'A true-ish story based on a lie', whilst Strauss' show may come under the umbrella of true crime, the trailer for Apple Cider Vinegar promises that Gibson's deception is only the tip of the iceberg of the show's preoccupations.

Key Details: Wbd will continue to distribute NBA games in areas like Latin America and Northern Europe. “Inside the NBA” will be licensed to ABC and ESPN in a separate deal. Wbd will get the rights to some Big 12 college football...

The rise of quality video game adaptations has been an unexpected, but welcome surprise for fans. HBO’s The Last of Us has been widely celebrated for its emotional depth and strong performances, particularly from Pedro Pascal as Joel. But it might not be the pinnacle of video game adaptations.

The Netflix animated series Arcane which adapted the popular League of Legends changed what a video game adaptation could be. By bringing together cutting-edge animation with deeply emotional storytelling, it has arguably stood as the pinnacle of game-to-screen success in recent years.

Video games have proven to be a great medium for telling complex and intricate narratives. One of the best examples is the Half-Life series, the sci-fi series from Valve that follows the story of Gordon Freeman, a scientist whose failed experiment unleashed a deadly alien invasion on the planet. With the recent surge in live-action video game adaptations, Half-Life should be one of the top candidates as well.

However, the real challenge with any adaptation is casting the right actor for the various characters, especially the main protagonist. While Bryan Cranston would have perfectly fit the bill as Freeman, he’s now too old for the role (68 years old). With him out, there is another promising candidate, MCU star Andrew Garfield, who can bring the emotional depth and physicality needed for the role.

Microsoft’s Xbox division was under no pressure to turn its video game franchise “Fallout” into a TV series. That’s one of the main reasons why the adaptation that premiered earlier this year on Amazon Prime Video has worked well for viewers and for dedicated fans of the game.
Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, and Jonah Nolan, executive producer and showrunner of the “Fallout” TV series, gave the backstory of how the TV series came to be during a discussion this week held as part of the Paley Center for Media’s International Council Summit in New York. Spencer and Nolan discussed the growing convergence of gaming IP with TV, film and other forms of media.
Spencer emphasized that the decision to seek a new iteration of “Fallout,” one of Xbox’s most popular properties, as a TV drama series was fueled in large part by the passion...
