This is a well-produced and polished film. It has GREAT PROMISE in the beginning, but that evaporates after the first 30 minutes.
Though out the entire film; there is not even a single simple kiss ...so you can forget about any "lust." Early on, the main character abruptly comes out because of an incident with a boy at school. This is what we are told (but we never actually see it) and we never hear about the bullied boy ever again! Supposedly that boy was beat up and sent to the hospital ...but the movie couldn't care any less about this since it is never brought up again (even though "bullying" is supposed to be the theme here).
Most of the movie centers about the teenagers' obsession about going to see a concert, rather on character development or any important emotional issues (like bullying or homophobia). Aside from being told the character is gay, and some "implied" homophobia in the aftermath with his dysfunctional family, there is little else here.
It all becomes one HUGE unsatisfying MESS. In the end we are left with a BELOW AVERAGE film.
