The Chicago Med cast re-introduced Nurse Jackie during the show’s latest episode. It was also a hint that she would be around for a while.
We first met Nurse Jackie Nelson at the end of Chicago Med Season 9. Jackie popped up during the 12th episode to help Maggie Lockwood in the Ed.
It was an emotional story arc for Jackie, with Maggie worrying that Jackie was overworking herself. But there were other reasons to be concerned because Jackie was harming herself.
The writing presented a situation where viewers worried Jackie might have been hurt by someone else, but Maggie later found Jackie in the bathroom in distress. That’s when Maggie discovered the real story.
Dr. Daniel Charles was forced to put Jackie on a 72-hour psych hold when the nurse would address the problem. That may have been the help Jackie needed.
That was the backstory before Nurse...

There’s not a lot of summer lovin’ spreading through the streaming industry. A black cloud hangs over the corporate offices of most streaming platforms nowadays, as seemingly every service is pulling titles in order to cut maintenance costs in every way possible.

Those suspicions were confirmed on Wednesday, as an exclusive Deadline report revealed that “Alaska Daily” and “The Company You Keep” were both being pulled from the service in early July.

Exclusive: Hulu is joining the latest round of programming purges.
The streamer is pulling off a number of additional series from its service as part of Disney’s wider plan to cut streaming costs.
The company revealed last month in an SEC filing that it would take $1.5B-$1.8B in write-downs associated with removing streaming programming from its platforms and expects to remove from more its direct-to-consumer platforms in the third quarter with another $400M in impairment charges.
Deadline now can reveal some of those titles.
They include Alaska Daily and The Company You Keep, which were both canceled at ABC after one season. Both shows would normally have stayed on the service until September, or later if Hulu had struck a longer deal, but are to be removed earlier next month.
Deadline understands that, going forward, ABC series canceled after one season, as well as specials, likely will fall under a similar strategy.

Melania Trump made a rare public appearance Monday on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” — at least, a version of her did.
Laura Benanti returned to the late night show to reprise her role as the former First Lady, and when asked about her feelings towards Stormy Daniels, the adult film actress at the center of Donald Trump’s indictment by the Manhattan Da, Benanti’s Melania extended grace and empathy.
“Honestly, I feel bad for that woman, Strumy Daniel,” she said. “I know what she has been through — worst 90 seconds of your life.”
Trump’s indictment hinges on a sum of hush money the former president paid Daniels in the final weeks of his 2016 presidential campaign to cover up an alleged affair. Producers of the indie film musical “Americana Dream” have tapped Nashville-based music artists Mary Sarah and Sam Varga to play the story’s central couple, Billie Carton and Lucky Fontana.

A potential part of a burgeoning production axis between Spain and Portugal, “The Last Wolf” won the largest prize of the night, a development deal at Spanish public broadcaster Rtve, worth an estimated €50,000 and a virtual invitation to set the project up as a co-production with Spain.
The prize is a sign of the times. Battling financial straights, Rtve is turning to co-production or license deals – with its peers in Europe (Germany’s Zdf Studios on Simon West Magellan epic “Boundless”) or go-ahead and more flexible U.S. companies (Vis and Amazon’s Prime Video on “Parot”).
Co-produced by SPi and Cascais-based Caracol Protagonista, two of Portugal’s most international production houses, “The Last Wolf” has a narco edge...

Hulu’s upcoming comedy “Life & Beth” nabbed Laura Benanti for a recurring guest star role, Variety has learned exclusively.
Benanti will play Jane, a struggling mother, in the series from Amy Schumer, who writes, directs, executive produces and stars as the titular character.

The titular Marvelous Mrs. Maisel may be a comedian, but the yuks are sparse in the show’s first Season 4 photos.
The new shots, which Prime Video released Monday, show Midge looking rather melancholy, stretched out on a sofa in what appears to be a showgirls’ dressing room. Surrounded by sequins and feathers, and wearing her familiar black cocktail gown stage outfit, might Midge be getting ready to go on/contemplating her life choices thus far?

After the first full Pit Stop of the season, the remaining nine teams jet to Manaus, Brazil, on Wednesday’s episode “The Amazing Race 32,” which is moving to the 8 p.m. slot for the rest of the season. And the show can’t stop, won’t stop dropping in obstacles as the Double U-Turn awaits them.
That means two things: The Detour will finally make its debut this season, and this is the first time that the Yield and U-Turn are in the same season since the latter replaced the former starting in Season 12. We’re guessing the Yield, which was unused last week, is not in play this leg because that would be a lot. The episode is titled “We’re Makin’ Big Moves,” suggesting that the Double U-Turn will be used.
Tasks this leg include blowing darts, building a hut, and what appears to be a needle-in-the-haystack search at a market.

Debris is the first NBC pilot to nab a series order for the 2020-21 TV season.
With pilot season derailed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the network has picked up the sci-fi drama after it managed to complete most of the production on the alien drama's pilot.
The series focuses on two agents from two different continents, and two different mindsets, who must work together to investigate when wreckage from a destroyed alien spacecraft that has mysterious effects on humankind.
Jonathan Tucker and Riann Steele are on board as the two leads.
Given that most of the initial episode was actually shot, it gave it a leg up on the other pilots, most of which had not filmed a single scene.
The series was not on the network's recently unveiled fall schedule, so it's likely that it will launch in early 2021.
It could possibly be used in the Mondays at 10 p.

It's been a wild few years at TNT and TBS.
The two basic cable networks, under Kevin Reilly, moved away from procedural fare like fan-favorite Rizzoli & Isles and multicamera comedies like Bill Lawrence's Ground Floor toward niche fare like Search Party and premium dramas like Snowpiercer.
Reilly spent years building up a comedy roster of ratings underperformers/critical darlings including The Detour and People of Earth. What remains, however, is a fraction of the scripted inventory the executive carefully curated.

Jurassic World: Dominion is the title of the 2021-scheduled third film in the revived blockbuster Jurassic Park franchise, intended as the conclusion to a trilogy consisting of 2015’s Jurassic World and 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The sequel swan song will showcase a shaken status quo after Fallen Kingdom‘s plot twist, in which the cloned dinosaurs were unleashed upon civilization, altering the existential balance of mankind (and the rest of the animal kingdom).
Seemingly mirroring Disney’s revived Star Wars Sequel Trilogy films, the Jurassic Sequel Trilogy will close things out with the director who helped foster the relaunch, Colin Trevorrow. He will work off a script that he helped develop with Derek Connolly, co-written by Emily Carmichael.
Dominion will, poetically enough, be a franchise-encompassing reunion with current stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard set to be joined by returning Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum,...
