It perpetuates the harmful stereotype that people with disabilities are less deserving of recognition or visibility, which is counterproductive to efforts toward creating an inclusive society.
Ultimately, the failure to list a lead actor with cerebral palsy in the top cast reflects deeper issues of ableism in the entertainment industry and society as a whole.
