You will love the movie if you dint watch Malayalam premam. In Malayalam director convey the three stages and feelings of George with a theme/style and feel, Which is lack in Telugu Premam. Sruthi Hassan is a wrong choice for Sai Pallavi. Malar's cute looks is plus to Malayalam Premam, which is ruined by Sruthi Hassan. The stylish theme and fell of original premam is missing with this Telugu copy. Anupuma as MAry is better than Suma... entire Mary episode is wasted by director. Chaitanya performed very very well, improved performance when compared to his previous movies. He did his BEST.Music is okay. But over all its a good remake for the one who don't know Malayalam Premam.

Good Movie but Malayalam Version was Better.naga chaitanya acting is average.
Premam (2016): Its true that "Love stories end and Feelings Don't". Its been almost a year since I watched Malayalam Premam but sill it has its impact on me everyday.I always watch it whenever I get bored and still it feels new. That's the magic of Premam and when I heard about its remake in Telugu,I didn't even got any interest on it because I thought they will ruin it..So did they really ruin it?? or Did they succeed??
Plot: Premam is about Vikram and his love stories different stages of life.It all starts at the school age where he gets attracted to Suma (Anupama Parameswaran) and woos her. When he is about to propose her he gets a shock from her. First love broke his heart. Next one is set in his college days where he loves his new guest lecturer Sithara (Sruthi Hasan). When everything is going good for him, he gets another shock. Second time he gets a heart break. Next one is set in his middle age where he is well settled as renowned restaurant owner and again he meets a new girl Sindhu (Madonna Sebastian) who is related to his past.
Plus points:
1)Performances: Naga Chaitanya is the major attraction of Premam. He has shown the variation to all three shades of his character. As a school kid,his acting is average but in the role of college guy and middle age,his performance is extraordinary. The way he expressed various emotion shows his subtle maturity.Especially in the heart breaking ending of Sithara story,Chaitanya's performance deserves applause.Praveen as Chaitanya's friend had acted extremely well.He deserves special mention.Srinivas Reddy gave hilarious performance and cameo of Venkatesh and Nagarjuna gets great response.Of all the actress,Madonna stands out.She is brilliant in the role of Sindhu.Sruthi Hasan gave decent job but to those who are connected to Malar may not satisfy with her.
2)Music: Rajesh Murugesan gave the same music of original except a few different tunes are added in this.Premam is one of the best albums of all time.So Telugu ones may not get in sink with Malayali lovers but those who are not aware of original will love this album.BGM is as usual awesome and soulful. It helped a lot in most of the.scenes.
3)Few scenes: Few scenes managed to carry the same feel of original Premam.Even the newly added ones are decent.Especially the inclusion of comedy is commendable.Praveen,Brahmaji,Srinivas Rao came up with some hilarious characters.
Minus Points:
1)First story: Story with Anupama is so rushed and lacked natural feel.It looked so artificial.Even the performances are average when compared to rest of the movie. It just looked like they have wrapped it up in a hurry.Anupama is wasted in her role whereas in original she has scored with her performance and looks.
2)Fast Pace: Entire movie seemed to be in a hurry which spoiled the feel of the movie. While the duration of original is 2hr 40 min,Telugu Premam is 2hr 10 min long.Even with this short duration it lacked emotions.
So,Premam is just an average remake of Malayalam Premam. To those who watched original one, this one seems amateur whereas to the new ones it just gives a feel of cool movie but it can't be classic like original.
My rating 6.25/10

Story:- The story of the film is basically the journey of Vikram (Naga Chaitanya) through three different stages of his life. He falls in love with three different girls Suma (Anupama Parameswaran) Sithara (Shruthi Hassan) and Sindhu (Madonna). But the twist is that he fails each time he proposes to them. Rest of the story is as to how Vikram finally settles down and with whom.
Plus points:- Premam completely belongs to Naga Chaitanya as he springs a huge surprise with his performance. You will see a new updated version of the young hero as the youth and female fans will love him in his role. The way he has showcased variations in his looks and performance is top notch. One of the biggest assets of the film is that the makers have not tried to copy the film as it is. They have changed the flavor a bit and narrated the film with ample entertainment. The film has good comedy throughout and artists like Srinivas Reddy, Brahmaji, Praveen and others evoke some huge laughs throughout the film. The first half is racy and has many entertaining moments.
Even though there will be a lot of debate about Shruthi Haasan's role, she has done a decent job in the film. Both Anupama Parameswaran and Madonna Sabastian perform well in their roles and make the casting interesting. Minus Points:- Premam will draw huge comparisons from the original. All those who saw the original might find many scenes and the casting to be a bit off track. The film has some very slow narration which might no well with some audience. Shruthi Haasan's role is a bit different as she could have been showcased in a better way. The story is also predictable after a point as the film moves on a single point agenda.
Verdict:- One the whole, Premam will undoubtedly be the film that will take Naga Chaitanya to the next level as a star. He surprises you with his standout performance and is the sole reason to watch Premam. Romantic songs, entertaining narration and a feel-good nature of the script will surely be loved by the audience big time. If you stop drawing comparisons from the original and go with an open mind, Premam is one romantic entertainer which will keep you hooked throughout and makes up for a good watch this festival season.
my rating: 8/10
final words: Really worth watch, and a fair remake

This movie is is the worst remake of a successful movie called Premam from Kerala district of India. The director should understand Telugu people are not not nuts to accept such a bullshit remake.

Whoever thought Shruti Hassan was cute basically ruined this movie. Malar in the original was the embodiment of cuteness. What we get in telugu is basically someone who looks like a middle age aunty. Dont even get me started on the unnecessary cringe additions in the remake. Sometimes, we should just leave the original alone instead of butchering it.

Similarly, it helps people socialize better. It connects people and helps break the ice. People often discuss cinema to start a conversation or more. Moreover, it is also very interesting to talk about rather than politics and sports which is often divided.
Above all, it also enhances the imagination powers of people. Cinema is a way of showing the world from the perspective of the director, thus it inspires other people too to broaden their thinking and imagination.
Most importantly, cinema brings to us different cultures of the world. It introduces us to various art forms and helps us in gaining knowledge about how different people lead their lives.
In a way, it brings us closer and makes us more accepting of different art forms and cultures. Cinema also teaches us a thing or two about practical life. Incidents are shown in movies of emergencies like robbery, fire, kidnapping and more help us learn things which we can apply in real life to save ourselves. Thus, it makes us more aware and teaches us to improvise.
