The main setback is that the vlogger character has way too much screen time and he's tiresome. to see and hear after 20 minutes. Someone so utterly stupid is never funny more than five minutes in because for the rest of the movie you keep thinking, "This would be more fun if he got what he deserved, got dispatched, in the second act, then the show could go on." That would be achieved by making all the Ben Lyk characters responsible for carrying the movie, rather than the putx hwo is stuck at age five all the way through. Yes, in real life utter imbeciles may surive to a mature age, but in entertainment, we are not obliged to reflect that much realism.

The run time makes this more bearable, it's nothing ground breaking but does have a few moments that make you laugh, although it also has a few that make you groan. The acting at times is decent and at times woeful. The whole film is the kind of film that almost...almost is a good film but just doesn't quite get over the line as one I'd recommend immediately but if you need to kill 80 mins you could do worse..
Not a film I'd watch twice but don't feel the universe owes me time back for the first viewing so there's that at least...
All in all, average movie let down at times by dodgy acting and a dodgy plot, but it's also slightly daft and amusing...marmite film maybe?

I watched an hour of this awful movie and eventually had to give up, acting awful, not funny. Can't believe it's got a 4.8 rating to be honest. Don't waste your time

Don't even bother wasting your time with this. Has the premise to be quite good but after 5 mins the main character is frustratingly annoying, I lasted about 20 mins and turned it off. Absolutely nothing good to write about this so called comedy.
Gave it 2 stars as if you can last longer than 20 mins it may actually improve.

The main character is an almost insufferable vlogger stereotype, but the humor is able to carry it regardless, and I was pretty entertained throughout. Would definitely recommend for movie night with friends or similar.

I'm not sure what happened to British comedy ("cough....woke") but humour is no longer their strong suit.
"Kill Ben Lyk" isn't funny. Its premise and characters follow a predictable tired trajectory, accompanied by hackneyed humour, that's simply put, unintelligent and boring.
I managed about thirty minutes before giving up. The acting is fine but so much else is uninspired, there is little left to say.
May suit the easy pleased but, I suspect, it will irritate the discerning.
3/10.

I will say, excellent for what appears to be a lower budget production. With very few scenes to work with, you made a very excellent movie. The plot felt complete, it was entertaining to watch, however, some characters warranted some more development. Particularly the main character, who is revealed as egotistical, but besides that, has not many more character traits. He occupies plenty of screen-time yet he lacks in dimension. Often he is repeating similar behaviors, and not contributing much of anything positive to the story line. This makes the character exhausting, degrading the plot,; however, other characters fill in this void and become much more significant to the plot. In terms of comical value, the comedy is not well placed, it feels repetitive, and hurts the thriller and mystery aspect of this movie. The movie felt casual, not much got my eye, and with very little connection to the characters, the target genre seemed unapparent. Overall, enjoyable? Yes. Memorable? No.

To be honest, maybe it's due to the other reviews that I went in with expecting nothing, but I thought it was an entertaining movie. Yeah, the main character is obnoxious, but that's the whole point.
Could it have been better? Ofcourse it could have, hell even the Marvel movies could have been MUCH better..
Just watch it as the movie it is, a popcorn movie without any real meaning. If you can watch it on something like Netflix or Primevideo, go ahead.

What a terrible film ,up there with Peter's friends and Sink or swim , is there anybody in the British film industry that considers their audience , who the hell is this aimed at ! I would bet it took £27 at the box office .
Rubbish acting , a script written by a 12 yr old ,unlikeable characters ,it makes Confessions of a window cleaner look like Apocalypse now !
Avoid like the plague .

I'm as up for a jolly good British comedy as the next person, think Hot Fuzz.
But this one's lame and mouldy. Premise is that there are many guys called Ben Lyk in London and someone's out to get them all. May have been a story for a madcap comedy but falls really short of even that ambitious aim.
Strictly if you have absolutely nothing to do and need a downer.

I've heard the term "it's so bad it's actually good", but I could never make sense of it... until now. This movie is so weird I ended up enjoying it completely, with its twisted plot and oddball characters. Not quite Guy Ritchie, but it has similar vibes.
The Inbetweeners meets Agatha Christie in this quirky B Movie farce. Lots of gags, cliches and fun. Take it at face value, it's a movie you watch for a laugh.
