Last year, we learned that Lights Out and Annabelle: Creation director David F. Sandberg would be re-teaming with Annabelle: Creation screenwriter Gary Dauberman for a movie based on the horror video game Until Dawn. Production began in August, wrapping in October, and the film is aiming for an April 25, 2025 theatrical release. A couple of days ago, a teaser video dropped online to allow Sandberg and Dauberman to explain their approach to the material. Rachel Sennott’s upcoming HBO comedy pilot has added four cast members, Variety has learned.

Odessa A’zion, Jordan Firstman, Miles Robbins, and True Whitaker (“Godfather of Harlem”) are all set to star in project, which was picked up to pilot at HBO in March. Sennot will also star in the series.

The official logline states, “A codependent friend group reunites, navigating how the time apart, ambition, and new relationships have changed them.”

A’zion has also appeared in multiple episodes of the CBS comedy “Ghosts” as well as shows like “Fam” and features such as 2022’s “Hellraiser.” Firstman recently appeared in the Marvel series “Ms. Marvel” at Disney+. Robbins appeared in multiple episodes of the award-winning Amazon series “Mozart in the Jungle.” Whitaker appeared alongside her father, Academy Award winner Forrest Whitaker, in “Godfather of Harlem.”

A’zion is repped by UTA, Luber Roklin, Granderson Des Rochers. Firstman is repped by UTA and Frankfurt Kurnit.

Syndicated talk strip “Tamron Hall” has been picked up for a sixth season, ABC News was set to announce on Monday. The show, distributed nationally by Disney Entertainment, airs on the ABC-owned TV stations, as well as on stations owned by groups including Hearst, Scripps, Nexstar, Tegna, Gray and Amg. The news keeps “Tamron Hall” on the air through the 2024-2025 TV season.

The Good Morning America regular returned to the desk earlier this week after suddenly missing an episode last week.

Last Friday, Roberts was replaced by Eva Pilgrim, who regularly fills in for her colleague.

However, Roberts was back on Monday and Tuesday and shared several updates with her fans, including her “#tuesdaythoughts.”

The message featured a discussion of how it’s “good to be passionate about dreams” and “healing, freedom, and promotion.”

We have no idea at this time whether or not Hellraiser will be released on DVD/Blu-ray here in the United States, but we’ve learned the film is hitting DVD over in the United Kingdom.

The UK DVD release of Hellraiser (2022) arrives on March 27, 2023. As always, you’ll be able to watch the disc here in the States but you’ll need a Region Free DVD player first.

David Bruckner’s Hellraiser reboot is now streaming exclusively on Hulu, and today 20th Century Studios takes us behind the scenes for a look at the film’s brand new Hell Priest.

Titled “Becoming the Priest,” the short featurette video introduces Jamie Clayton as the new Hell Priest (aka Pinhead), showing off time lapse video footage of the incredible makeup.

“The makeup takes four hours to do, and about 45 minutes to an hour to remove,” Clayton explains. She describes the gruesome new look, “It’s so beautiful. Oh, it’s wild.”

Exclusive: CBS Studios has signed an overall deal with Barbershop writer Don D. Scott. Under the two-year pact, Scott will develop new series for the studio across all platforms, including drawing on his unique background for inspiration. Scott grew up in a nightclub-owning family, and his father was also a professional bowler who broke the color barrier in the Pba.

Most of Scott’s TV series career to date has been at CBS Studios. He was a staff writer on the studio’s CBS comedy Fam and worked on the second and third season of CBS Studios’ CBS hit The Neighborhood, rising to co-producer.

Exclusive: Mark and Dorothy Canton’s Atmosphere Entertainment has launched development on The 18th, a one-hour series inspired by the true story of Nebraska’s “Queen of the Bootleggers,” which has Odessa A’zion (Grand Army) set to star.

The series set in the early 1900s will follow Louise Vinciquerra, a young Italian immigrant wife and mother who rose out of poverty to become the Bootlegging Queen of the American heartland. Adored by her customers and hunted by the Feds, she conned and charmed her way onto the front pages for earning too much money, shooting too many husbands, seducing too many prohibition agents, and just being Too Much – all before she turned 25 years old.

Exclusive: CBS is developing Married With Friends, a multi-camera comedy inspired by and starring real-life married couple Blake Lee and Ben Lewis (Arrow).

Written by Julia Meltzer, with Fam and In the Dark creator Corinne Kingsbury supervising, Married With Friends is an ensemble about a millennial friend group navigating life, friendships, and romantic relationships (or lack thereof) with Arthur and Bo – a gay, married couple, played by Lee and Lewis, – as the glue that holds them all together.

Kingsbury executive produces via her Eighty-Two Cents productions. Lee, Lewis and Meltzer is co-executive producer. CBS Studios produces in association with Eighty-Two Cents.

Lee and Lewis previously starred together in Lifetime’s first LGBTQ+ holiday movie, The Christmas Setup. The film was nominated for a 2021 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding TV Movie.

All three projects stem from the producer partnership former longtime CBS head of comedy Trilling and her TrillTV have with Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment. Exclusive: Writing/producing duo Bill Martin and Mike Schiff (The Unicorn) have signed with A3 Artists Agency for representation.

Martin and Schiff most recently created and executive produced comedy series The Unicorn, starring Walton Goggins, which aired for two seasons on CBS.

The duo began their television writing careers on In Living Color and soon were staffed on 3rd Rock From the Sun. They served as showrunners for three seasons on 3rd Rock before leaving to create their own series Grounded for Life on Fox. More recently, they reunited with John Lithgow as writers on the murder documentary spoof Trial & Error. Additional credits include Fam, Living Biblically, The Soul Man and Ground Floor.

Martin and Schiff continue to be repped by Michael Gendler and Kevin Kelly at Gendler & Kelly.

Exclusive: Odessa A’zion (Grand Army), Aaron Holliday (Sharp Objects) and Will Block (The Show Must Go Online) have signed on to star in For The Night, a high concept indie horror feature written and directed by James Kimball.

Marking Kimball’s feature directorial debut, the film is described as taking an innovative “spin on the found footage horror genre.” Production kicks off soon in Los Angeles and Montana.

The Berlin International Film Festival has set its full slate for the upcoming 2021 edition. Berlinale usually follows Sundance with a February festival, but the pandemic has forced organizers to develop a new festival format for 2021. The 71st Berlin International Film Festival is set to take place with the “Industry Event” from March 1 to 5, which will include the European Film Market (EFM), the Berlinale Co-Production Market, the Berlinale Talents, and the World Cinema Fund in online forms. From June 9 to 20, 2021 the Berlinale will launch a “Summer Special” with numerous film presentations in Berlin, both at indoor and outdoor cinemas.

Included in the March event is the traditional film festival slate, which includes the main Berlinale Competition lineup as well as sidebar sections such as Berlinale Special & Berlinale Series, Encounters, Berlinale Shorts, Panorama, Forum & Forum Expanded, Generation, Perspektive Deutsches Kino, and Retrospective. With the exception of the Retrospective, the films will be shown at the March event.

When Penelope’s (Simone) career takes off at exactly the same time as her husband’s, they call on Penelope’s (Simone) young single mom, Georgia (Hurley), to help raise their son, but what they find is Georgia needs more raising than their kid.

Killam will play Josh, Penelope’s (Simone) husband, father to their toddler son, Levi, and an airline pilot who loves his job. Josh is a bit more tolerant of Penelope’s mother, Georgia (Hurley), and tends to cut her more slack.
