Exclusive: Oscar-winning company Caviar has rounded out the cast of Joey Power’s romantic comedy, Love Language with Chloe Fineman (Saturday Night Live), comedian and podcaster Bobbi Althoff (The Really Good Podcast), Morgan Jay (St. Denis Medical), Stephen Schneider (Broad City), Dan Perrault (American Vandal), Zach Zucker (Sweethearts), Christian Pierce (The Real Bros of Simi Valley) Marchánt Davis (Reality), and Daniel David Stewart (For All Mankind) rounding out the cast.

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the new trailer and character posters for New Line Cinema’s Horizon: An American Saga, directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Kevin Costner. Horizon: An American Saga is a multi-faceted chronicle covering the Civil War expansion and settlement of the American West.

A story of Americana and patriotism too big for one film, this true cinematic event also stars Costner, who co-wrote the script with Jon Baird (The Explorers Guild) and produces through his Territory Pictures.

Apple doesn’t share much in the way of viewership metrics or other data, but things change when there’s good news to reveal.

Hard data is hard to come by from Apple. The company is well-known for keeping its numbers to itself, but it recently decided to pull back the curtain just a bit on its streaming operations. Shout! Studios announced on Thursday they are releasing Yale Entertainment’s darkly comedic thriller The Kill Room, in theaters nationwide September 29, 2023. Exclusive: Michaela Conlin has been cast as a series regular opposite Ellie Kemper in ABC’s Drop-Off (working title), a comedy pilot based on the British series Motherland, from writer Julieanne Smolinski, Sharon Horgan and Clelia Mountford’s Merman Television, Paul Feig’s Feigco Entertainment, Lionsgate and ABC Signature. Judy Greer and Karan Soni also star.

Written by Smolinski, Drop-Off (wt) centers on Julia (Kemper), a working mom for whom nothing is working so she goes looking for her village. With the help of new friends Calvin (Soni) and Liz (Conlin), Julia discovers she just might succeed at balancing work and parenting from time to time. This is a comedy for anybody who’s dropped their kids at school, breathed a sigh of relief … then realized it’s Sunday.

Conlin’s Liz is another single mom at Julia’s (Kemper) kids’ school. She’s cool, doesn’t care. Unlike Calvin and Julia, Liz doesn’t like the inner circle of moms at their kids’ school and doesn’t want to be part of them. Daniel Stern has been cast in Season 4 of “For All Mankind” at Apple, Variety has learned.

The news comes about a month after “For All Mankind” was renewed for Season 4. Production on the new season is underway.

“For All Mankind” is an alternative history series that explores what would have happened if the global space race had never ended. The series presents an world where NASA astronauts, engineers and their families find themselves in the center of extraordinary events seen through the prism of an alternate history timeline — a world in which the Ussr beats the US to the moon.

Stern joins the series as series regular as Eli Hobson, the new administrator at NASA. A former Auto Industry CEO, he’s been tasked with bringing the agency into the 21st century, a challenge much bigger than he anticipated.

For All Mankind made it to Mars in the third season of Apple TV+’s alt-history space race series. Now the drama created by Ronald D. Moore, Ben Nedivi and Matt Wolpert is going even further in time and space.

The series starring Joel Kinnaman and Krys Marshall has been renewed for a fourth season, it was revealed Friday at end of the show’s Comic-Con panel in San Diego.

“I’m thrilled that we get to keep going forward in this amazing story,” Moore told Deadline. “Right from the beginning it was my hope that it would be a long, multi-year journey. “It’s gratifying to see what we’ve done and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do in the future.”

“I couldn’t be more excited to continue evolving our show into the 2000s in Season 4,” said Wolpert.

Kinnaman will star as Adam, Brooke's long-time on-again, off-again boyfriend, He will bring further complication to Brooke's personal life, reports variety.com.

Along with Kinnaman and Aduba, the series also stars Anthony Ramos, Liza Colon-Zayas, John Benjamin Hickey, and Quintessa Swindell.

The series is currently in production, but no release date has been set.

Joel Kinnaman has joined the cast of HBO’s “In Treatment” reboot, TheWrap has confirmed.

The “For All Mankind” star will play the on-again, off-again boyfriend of Uzo Aduba’s Dr. Brooke Lawrence. The half-hour series, which is slated to premiere sometime this year, centers on the “observant, empathetic” therapist, who “wrestles with her own issues” while treating a diverse trio of patients.

Additional cast members include Anthony Ramos, Liza Colón-Zayas, John Benjamin Hickey and Quintessa Swindell.

Stephen Levinson, Mark Wahlberg, Hagai Levi, Jennifer Schuur, Joshua Allen and Melissa Bernstein executive produce the new series, with Joanne Toll and Noa Tishby as co-executive producers. It is produced by HBO in association with Leverage, Closest to the Hole Productions and Sheleg.

Ethan Hawke is joining the cast of “The Black Phone,” Scott Derrickson’s upcoming film for Blumhouse and Universal, the companies announced on Thursday. Hawke joins a cast that includes Mason Thames (“For All Mankind”) and Madeleine McGraw.

The film, directed by Derrickson, is set to begin production in North Carolina next month. Derrickson and his frequent collaborator Robert Cargill adapted the script based on Joe Hill’s short story.

Although plot details are being kept under wraps, the book synopsis is as follows:

Apple has said it wants to bulk up revenue from services — including Apple TV Plus, which is just over one year old. But new research suggests that the tech giant’s entry into the so-called “streaming wars” is at a distinct disadvantage compared with rivals.

In the fourth quarter, the majority of Apple TV Plus subscribers — a whopping 62% — said they were on the free promotional offer that Apple extended to buyers of its hardware devices, according to research firm MoffettNathan’s Q4 2020 SVOD Tracker report. What’s worrisome for Apple: 29% of those said they do not plan to resubscribe once the promo period expires; only 30% said they plan to renew at the regular $4.99/month price (and the rest were unsure).

By comparison, 16% of Disney Plus users said they access the service via the Mouse House’s promotional partnership with Verizon. About 23% of HBO Max subscribers said they access the service...

Netflix has debuted a new trailer for their latest series ‘Fate: The Winz Saga’ before it premieres this Friday.

The series follows the coming-of-age journey of five fairies attending Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld where they must learn to master their powers while navigating love, rivalries, and the monsters that threaten their very existence.

The live-action series is a reimagining of the Italian cartoon series Winx Club by Iginio Straffi and is from creator Brian Young (The Vampire Diaries).

In today’s TV news roundup, Netflix gave a premiere date to Part 2 of “Selena: The Series,” and Apple TV Plus offered a first look at Season 2 of “For All Mankind.”

CBS All Access shared that Louie Anderson, Kevin Bacon, Jillian Bell, D’Arcy Carden, Rob Delaney, Elle Fanning, Will Forte, Kimberly Hébert Gregory, Udo Kier, Lamorne Morris, Oscar Nuñez, Hannah Simone, June Squibb and Samara Weaving will guest star on the fourth season of “No Activity.” The comedy series follows a group of cops, criminals and employees, with Season 4 specifically centering around star Patrick Brammall’s character and his disillusioned experiences after finally becoming an FBI agent like he always dreamed. It will also feature the characters as animated versions of themselves. Returning guest stars who appeared in prior seasons and will reprise their roles are Joe Keery, Sunita Mani, Bob Odenkirk and Amy Sedaris.

Apple TV+ is blasting off into the cosmos with a trailer for Season 2 of the alt-history space drama For All Mankind, which premieres the first of its 10 episodes on Friday, Feb. 19.

The drama, starring Joel Kinnaman, explores what would have happened if the Ussr beat the Americans to the moon and the global space race had never ended. Season 2 picks up a decade later in 1983, at the height of the Cold War.

Season 2 of the Ronald D. Moore revised history drama premieres on Apple’s SVOD (subscriber video on-demand) platform on Friday, Feb. 19. The next nine episodes will roll out one at a time each subsequent Friday.

“For All Mankind” explores what would have happened if the global space race had never ended. The series presents an aspirational world where NASA astronauts, engineers and their families find themselves in the center of extraordinary events seen through the prism of an alternate history timeline — a world in which the Ussr beat the U.S. to the Moon.

Season 2 of the space drama picks up a decade later in 1983. It’s the height of the Cold War and tensions between the United States and the Ussr are at their peak.

After emerging as one of Apple TV+’s most promising new series, Ronald D. Moore’s For All Mankind is suiting up for its second season premiere next month. Today, the nascent streamer shared a punchy new trailer for the series, which explores what it might have looked like had the Ussr beat the U.S. to the Moon.

CBS has released the first footage from its Queen Latifah-led crime-drama reboot The Equalizer.

Premiering after the network’s Feb. 7 telecast of Super Bowl Lv, The Equalizer stars Latifah as “an enigmatic figure who uses her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn.” Castle executive producers Andrew Marlowe and Terri Miller penned the pilot, with original series co-creator Richard Lindheim on board as an EP.

The ten-episode second season will debut globally with the first episode on Friday, January 15, 2021, followed by one new episode weekly, every Friday, exclusively on Apple TV+.

The cast of Servant includes Lauren Ambrose, Toby Kebbell, Nell Tiger Free, and Rupert Grint will all reprise their characters for the second season.

The pickup was a no-brainer. Servant Season 1 was a huge success, drawing decent reviews for its genuine scares, as well as the solid acting.

“Servant” has been renewed for Season 3 at Apple ahead of the Season 2 premiere.

Season 2 of the series will drop on Apple TV Plus on Jan. 15, with new episodes dropping weekly. The 10-episode second season takes a supernatural turn with a darker future for all lying ahead as Leanne (Nell Tiger Free) returns to the brownstone and her true nature is revealed. The series also stars Lauren Ambrose, Toby Kebbell, and Rupert Grint.

“With Leanne, it’s an ongoing reveal,” series creator Tony Basgallop said in an interview with Variety in January. “We don’t fully understand who she is and where she comes from, and her interpretation of who she is and where she comes from may not necessarily be the correct version.”

M. Night Shyamalan’s “Servant” has been renewed for Season 3 ahead of its second season premiere in January, the streaming service said Tuesday. No episode count for the third installment has been set yet.

“Servant” follows a Philadelphia couple Dorothy and Sean (played by Lauren Ambrose and Toby Kebbell) who are in mourning following an unspeakable tragedy. Amid a rift in their marriage, the two allow a mysterious woman named Leanne (Nell Tiger Free) to enter their home and lives.

Along with Ambrose, Kebbell and Free, the show stars Rupert Grint.

Per Apple, “Following its suspenseful season one finale, the second season takes a supernatural turn with a darker future for all lying ahead as Leanne returns to the brownstone and her true nature is revealed.”

The 10-episode second season of the Philadelphia-set series will premiere Jan. 15 on Apple TV+ with one episode. A new installment of the show...

A “Swiss Family Robinson” series is in development at Disney Plus.

The series hails from Ronald D. Moore and Jon M. Chu. It is based on the novel of the same name by Johann David Wyss, which was first published in 1812. The novel has been adapted into numerous forms over the years, including the popular 1960 Disney live-action film.

“Swiss Family Robinson” tells the story of a family that gets shipwrecked on a deserted island, where they establish a new life for themselves.

Moore is known for developing the “Battlestar Galactica” reboot as well as the shows “Outlander” and “For All Mankind.” He has worked extensively in the “Star Trek” universe as well, both on the television and film side.

Chu is a well-established director who is perhaps best known for helming the blockbuster film “Crazy Rich Asians.” His other directing credits include “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” and “Now You See Me 2.

Paul Schneider, Shantel VanSanten, Kevin Corrigan, and Moises Arias will round out the cast of “American Murderer.”

They join previously announced stars Tom Pelphrey, Ryan Phillippe, Idina Menzel and Jacki Weaver in the story of a charismatic con man turned party king who bankrolls his high living through a series of scams.

The film is written and will be directed by Matthew Gentile, and is based on the true story of Jason Derek Brown. When Brown’s funds run low, he plots an elaborate scheme, one that makes him one of the FBI’s top ten fugitives. Principal photography has started in Salt Lake City, following Utah state and SAG/AFTRA Covid-19 protocols.

Schneider currently stars on Amazon’s “Tales from the Loop,” and is best known for his roles on NBC’s “Parks and Recreation” and Warner Bros.’ “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.” Other...
