The concept was good but the movie is typically bollywood style , too much of drama , hue and cry. Movie can be better with a better story lineup with much of logic. John is my favourite so can not be critical of him but still much improvement is needed in his acting. You can consider to watch this movie only if you are hardcore patriotic person and want corruption free country otherwise just skip this and watch quality one.

Haven't you already watched Gabbar is Back? If yes, then there is no need to watch this one. I hope you're already inspired from that movie because you're not going to watch anything different in this. A happy go lucky person turned vigilante and started killing corrupts(only cops in this case) because consequences of their actions.
Moreover, you're going to hear some very cringy dialogues. A lot of melodramatic sequences, and bad acting from the antagonists while John is taking the sh*t out of them.
Not giving you spoilers but obviously, there has to be a back story why did John's character started killing cops and that too is not convincing enough to believe. And what's the point in making a movie on same concept with less logical approach and still expecting audience to like it because you just released it on Independence Day.

I must say the movie has taken me by surprise. It is the same old story recycled. But, the pace of the movie and the fact that as the movie progresses clues were given makes the movie interesting to watch.
John Abraham as an angry man, fits well. Some dialogues are repetitive and some action sequences were a bit over the top. But then again John has worked hard on his physic and has to show it off. I did realize his facial features, he is very controlled. He has this intensitiy in his eyes so when he is angry you can feel his pain and anger.
His counter part Manoj Bajpayee is equally good. He does go overboard at times with his dialogue delivery. And also, this is a frequent character he plays so he is becoming synonymous with a police officer.
New comer, Aisha Sharma, was pretty good. I did like the fact her role was different than the typical herione roles. And I appeciated that she did not run after the main hero and it was a mutual consent between the two to be together. Her voice, however, did not seem to fit her look. It sounded like sand paper. And she did not have enough screen time.
The songs by various artists were pretty decent. The song "Dilbaar" was entertaining and Nora Fatehian can definitely dance, effortlessly.
Overall, the movie could have used some refinement work. There is a lot of spinning around to show dramatics but I think music would have been enough to make the point across.

It's foolhardy to expect nuance from a jaded action drama that not only recycles 80s clichés, but also expects to pull off a reckless revenge in the absence of Amitabh Bachchan's charisma and Sunny Deol's fury. Only Satyamev Jayate's predictable twists and superficial emotions have absolutely nothing new to offer.
Satyameva Jayate is a fairly illogical commercial thriller fronted by two actors who deliver forceful performances. It may not be the most intelligent thriller, but its lack of pretence is its greatest asset. It's entertaining for some of the right reasons, and plenty of unintended ones.
Milap Milan Zaveri's story is simplistic, massy and something that the masses would applaud. Milap Milan Zaveri's direction reminds one of the 90s action dramas. Although it works in most parts, at some places the film begins to give a dated feel. On the whole, SATYAMEVA JAYATE is a powerful and gripping drama that leaves an impact as it resonates with the problems of the common man. It is sure to work big time in the single screens where the various scenes are bound to induce claps and whistles. This one is for the masses!
Milap Milan Zaveri with Satyameva Jayate shamelessly gets on the ground just with the thought of entertaining people. Never for a scene you'll feel Milap thinks that this is something 'a certain section' will not appreciate and does what he thinks is the best. Many hits, few misses but a honest product overall. All said and done, Satyameva Jayate provides unabashed entertainment. John Abraham - the Indian Hulk, Milap's seeti-maar dialogues will make you miss the times when masala entertainment was a trend in Bollywood.
'SMJ' desperately tries very hard to sell the age-old idea of revenge and righteousness. But the big booming treatment is a little too hard to accept and digest. With John in the film, one can expect good action, but it's gruesome and a little too bloody at times. Truth be told, the story is relevant in today's times, but too many cliches in the story and the style of storytelling will make you want to cop out of this one.

I first saw this in a theater when it released. Revisited bits of it few days back.
It is about a vigilante (John Abraham) who kills corrupt cops by setting them on fire, thereby gaining public support for wiping out the corrupt cops.
Worried by the rising body count and seeing other cops terrified, an officer is assigned to hunt down the killer.
The film has lots of violent killings, an item song, some melodrama, Bollywood romance n a script straight outta the 80s but the end product is a decent action thriller with lots of dead corrupt cops.
Watch out for the beating of the bald cop.
I loved the beating of the pervert cop n its background music.

John Abraham and Manoj Bajpayee starrer Satyamev Jayate is the perfect release for Independence Day week. The title itself says a lot! But, having said that, the story of the film is about fighting against corruption, and that too in a commercial way, so a good choice for audience to look upon. Directed by Milap Zaveri, it is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Nikhil Advani.
Film starts with John killing corrupt police officers. Manoj has given the job to find out the killer. Though, public is in full support for the killer as he is just cleaning the garbage from the system. How far the mission will go and what's the motto behind that- are the questions which will be answered in the run time.
Dialogues are the major plus factor of this film. The lines in the conversation between John and Manoj are fantastic. Screenplay and story by Milap Zaveri give you a good amount of entertainment. There are lot's of twists and turns throughout the film. Hence, it is a good commercial movie after a long time.
John has done his job finely. But Parmanu was better for sure. Manoj is good. Newcomer, Aisha Sharma delivers a good performance. Every character has its own identity through his dialogues. And for that, we have to thank Milap for sure.
There are only three songs. Dilbar, Tere Liye and Tajdar-E-Haram are fine and suitable to the script. I must say, Dilbar is a fine remake version of the original. The fight sequence in Tajdar-E-Haram is the best in the entire movie. I heard lods of whistles and shouts during that portion.
On the whole, if you are searching for a commercial cinema which can be worthy to your money as well as gives you a good story then watch Satyameva Jayate. Enjoy the film with whistles and shouts in the hall.

Lazy writing and silly script. John is some killer rampant on Killing people in India on public places and strangely no one sees him.

Why they always mix these religious things to get more money for their movies. Its so bad they are promoting more religious extremism by doing these kind of forceful not realistic scenes.

Every scene and dialogue of the movie is predictable and cheesy.
Didn't expect this from John after his last movie Parmanu.

Movie is kind of predictable but at the same time it highlights dark side of Police department. The process to encounter corruption is old 1947 style.
I will rather change the process which allows corruption in first place
1. Process for openness in selection of officers
2. Live camera in Police stations
3. Live Camera on Body and Car dashboard
4. No direct control from MLA
5. Regular Property and background check
6. Good salary, vacation and education benefits that officer have space to work with truth
Watched this movie yesterday story line is predictable and there ia no twist casting is very bad.Action is worthless to watch complete waste of time.

It seems like an eleven yr old could've written a better script. Literally nothing was unpredictable. Why did they shoot a whole movie? They could have edited parts and bits of various movies and put them together to make this stupid thing. Can't even call it a movie. :P

Movie more.or less tries to encourage patriotism , to end corruption, one man show, but at some point needless extended action like it is an extended version of Crime Patrol TV show.

Unfortunately, the director exists in the 1960s where loud background scores, over the top histrionics, extended dying scenes ruled the roost.
Satyamev Jayate is eminently unwatchable. John Abraham as the cop killer is really sad though he tries very hard. His best expressions come when he takes the little puppy for treatment. Even Raj Bavarialal did a better job when he played the role of a killer against injustice.
The normally brilliant Manoj Bajpayee could not save the film though his acting was the best.
The plot was weak, continuity was an issue, music was terrible and the background score drowned out all powers of thinking!
