If the film is in 2.35 ratio then it depends on the type of screen masking the theatre has (masking is the black border surrounding the screen). If the theatre you are watching it in has fixed screen masking, then the image will be smaller (i.e. it will be letter-boxed as on TV). If the theatre has movable side masking, then the width of the screen will become wider as the masking opens from 1.85 to the ratio of 2.35 and the image will fill the screen to that same ratio. So in short to see the movie in the largest format, go to a theatre that has movable side masking around the screen
