Guanche48's rating
It doesn't leave me satisfied at all and I think it is extremely overrated. I found it boring in general and really slow.
I am a fan of Jason Bateman, and here he does again a good job, this time as an arrogant, narcissistic and liar something different in the case of Bateman. It is not credible for me that his wife, the actress R. Hal, will put up with him, due to their differences in character, but anyway, it is what it is.
The Gift does not suspense enough and aims to provoke at times with its unsettling plot....but..
the plot descends into emotional stupidity and insufficient intrigue to end in a disgusting place, using the woman, his wife, to gets in a games play where she has nothing to do with it!
I enjoy movies that take real situations, but I don't recommend this one. In this case the tension and realism of the theme are not enough and it ends pretty ridicolous.

I found the two seasons really good! The first is in the men's prison, and the second in the women's. The two stories are different, and rather than being a continuation of the first, the 2nd is set to tell a brand new story. Great casting in both!
In the mens prison, the story is seen through the eyes of two very different men, with a look inside the modern British penal system. It is a story of guilt and forgiveness, punishment and penitence and the impact that prison has on all those who pass through it. 'Time' is emotional and thrilling, showcasing the performances of two of Britain's finest and best-loved actors.
The oppressive environment and physical threat in the men's prison follows the mental suffering created by the very different positions of women in society and the consequences for their families.
I like both stories, it brings attention to a terrible problem and demands a search for answers. It is rough, eery and more realistic than you might think.
This is a powerful series about the penal system and its lack of direction for rehabilitation.
By the way, I saw 8 episodes in total, 4 per season. So I dont get why it says only 3 per season here on imdb?

I really liked this series based on real events. It is very exciting and in each episode the tension rises more and more.
It's not simply about the robbery it's about relationships, economic pressures, loyalty and desperation that lead individuals to extraordinary measures, rather than glorifying the criminal deed.
The emotional heart is family, and sometimes the family history is a little dense and can distract from the main theme, although it didn't bother me, because the plot has a lot of potential and it is very gripping.
The performances are brilliant and the plot is very well built. Don't miss this one!
