Woman of the Hour (2023)
A Decent Effort, But Lacking Impact
Anna Kendrick's directorial debut, Woman Of The Hour, feels as ambitious as she intended it to be, unfortunately Woman Of The Hour tells the story of a serial killer that are quite disturbing as its shown, but it felt like they can and should've show it more, at just over an hour and a half, the film moves briskly, but its short runtime leaves the narrative feeling unsatisfying and underdeveloped, and i wouldn't mind a longer duration if it meant a deeper exploration of Alcala's crimes and the twisted psychology behind them, focusing on only a few victims, among them, the teenage runaway Amy stands out, but the other depictions feel less compelling, while Daniel Zovatto succeeded on playing this creep, he doesn't quite embody the killer in appearance, his lack of physical resemblance, from facial features to hairstyle, makes it harder to fully buy into his portrayal despite again his decent performance, and so do Anna Kendrick, her filmmaking style, however, is nothing but a typical Netflix production, nothing really that impressive, overall, Woman Of The Hour felt like a brief stop by film about a serial killer that felt quite underwhelming despite some ambitious work pour into it and some decent aspect in the film, it is a decent film at best.
Wicked: Part I (2024)
Wicked Was A Solid Start To A Two-Part Tale
Wicked: Part One is like High School Musical with better production, bigger budget, and better acting for the most part, and i like it, as a musical enjoyer, Wicked is definitely an easy film to follow despite its notably long runtime, as the musical number keeps entertained me for the majority of the film almost non-stop, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo shine as a duo, even in scenes where they're not singing, Grande, in particular, delivers a surprisingly solid performance, while Wicked: Part One doesn't offer much of the extraordinary, vibrant imagery of the Land of Oz that was so beautifully captured in the timeless 1939 classic The Wizard of Oz or Sam Raimi's Oz the Great and Powerful, i hope Wicked: Part Two dives deeper into the world-building along with more darker story, for now, Wicked: Part One has enough half story to put into one film, an enjoyable and entertaining musical with good performances and good production, it wasn't perfect, it's getting a bit too long towards the end but overall it's still good enough as a film and good enough for a "to be continued" film, still felt like i was watching a film with a beginning, the middle, and the end, even though it was still half of the story, Wicked: Part One is quite wonderful.
Megalopolis (2024)
A Flawed Yet Fascinating Grand Epic Science Fiction
Coppola's passion project felt disastrous in a way that its as disastrous as Cesar character itself and his complex obstacle while trying to build Megalopolis, and i'm probably one of the few people who actually enjoy his disastrous journey, what makes Megalopolis suitable to shoot in these recent technology is what i think made the film better, the capability of all the visual and special effects was definitely an important aspect of Megalopolis while i do must admit that not all the effects worked, some felt underwhelming and in my opinion represent the film's biggest weakness, Megalopolis is a lot to take in, grand, ambitious, and at times overwhelming, but it somehow managed to resonate with me, the story may not be groundbreaking, but it is creatively executed, the cinematography, the performances by all the cast was good, and particularly the depiction of an alternate 21st-century New York City that feels quite rich and immersive, overall, Megalopolis is a passion project that won't resonate with everyone, but i personally enjoyed it as a flawed disastrous yet fascinating grand epic science fiction with its intriguing story and dedicated craftsmanship, even if some aspects don't quite hit the mark.
Gladiator II (2024)
A Satisfying, Epic, And Ambitious Sequel, Filled With Emotion, Strength, And Honor
8.5/10
I imagine Ridley Scott must have given an impassioned speech during the production of Gladiator II, likely ending with the iconic phrase, 'Strength and Honor' This sequel feels like a labor of love rather than a soulless cash grab, and Scott's passion for the project shines through, Gladiator II felt like another movie rather than a sequel, not completely in terms of a story and characters structure but the ambitious work behind it, it's easy to criticize some of Ridley Scott's recent work but when you see Gladiator II, the sequel that nobody wants turns to be an epic continuation of Maximus legacy that worth to watch, of course, the film isn't perfect, it runs a bit too long and there's definitely some flaws here and there, besides those, the cast delivers an extraordinary and outstanding performances, Paul Mescal shines as a strong and compelling lead, while Denzel delivers a reliably excellent performance, Joseph Quinn and Fred Hechinger are both menacing as the twin emperors, and Pedro Pascal also a great addition to the film, the film retains the grand, epic scale of the original, with spectacular set pieces and thrilling battles in the colosseum, practical effects are prominently featured, complemented by impressive visual and special effects, most importantly, the story carries Maximus legacy forward in a way that is both emotionally engaging and exciting, it avoids rehashing the original's narrative, instead offering a fresh and meaningful continuation of the original, it's what a sequel story should have, overall, what Ridley Scott do to Gladiator II is a win for me, it's a satisfying, epic, and ambitious sequel, filled with emotion, strength, and honor, although the movie still have some flaws and did felt a bit too long, still an epic experience, one of the best films of the year.
All of Us Strangers (2023)
A Mind-Bending Emotional Journey
All Of Us Strangers is a beautifully crafted, character and dialogue-driven film that delivers a deep and emotionally intense experience, it's not only captivating but also mind-bending, with a compelling and heartfelt storyline, Andrew Scott gives a phenomenal portrayal, and also Paul Mescal, Jamie Bell, and Claire Floy extraordinary performance, it's the kind of movie that becomes clear as you engage with its dialogue, it plays with your mind, and once you grasp what's truly happening, the film elevates to something even greater, visually stunning, the movie is a heartfelt story about loneliness, leading to a cleverly twisted and meaningful ending, overall, All Of Us Strangers is a heavy yet sweet emotional journey with a surprising, thought-provoking conclusion.
Red One (2024)
A Decent Fantasy Action Comedy Elevated by Evans and Johnson
6.5/10
Evans and Johnson's chemistry as a duo shines in this action-comedy fantasy film, they do make a fun pair, especially with Evans, who always does well in this type of comedic role, while Red One wasn't a particularly great movie for me overall, it still had its entertaining moments, mostly thanks to Evans and Johnson, my biggest disappointment with Red One was some of the action scenes especially when you have Dwayne Johnson in it, and with his physique, it feels unnecessary to give him powers that make him shrink while fighting five men, it's easy to believe he could handle them on his own and it could give us a better and more exciting action with it, the movie had quite a bit of cheesy material, and story-wise, it became overly silly at times, especially in the fantasy elements, that said, some fantasy elements did work, for example, Kristofer Hivju as Krampus was excellent, the movie also made me chuckle a few times, and overall without Evans entertaining performance and Johnson's strong presence, Red One would have fallen flat, it's really their chemistry that elevates the film, the rest, from the action to the storyline, is decent but has its share of flaws.
Reagan (2024)
Quaid Truly Embodies Reagan In This Decent Biopic
Dennis Quaid truly embodies Ronald Reagan, he is Reagan, possibly the best lookalike portrayal of any U. S. President on screen, but at the end it is still a film, a biopic, and when you get a director that has directed numerous straight-to-DVD releases, a Casper sequel, Christmas in Evergreen, and Cats & Dogs 3: Paws Unite!, you have to expect some if not a lot of production flaws in the film, to be fair, Sean McNamara seems to do his best to avoid turning the film into a complete garbage, but the issues still remain, from the poor green screen work, the poor set design that at times really looks like the film was made for TV with the biggest budget they can have, and couple of bad performances, but what helps Reagan for me personally to still in my opinion a decent biopic was of course Dennis Quaid performance as Ronald Reagan, as he is in about almost the entire film, Penelope Ann Miller also did a good job as Nancy Reagan, some supporting actors didn't gave a not so bad performance like some other, and really if it's anything besides Quaid, the film's most engaging element is Reagan's true story itself, particularly his presidency during the Cold War era, including the Soviet Union conflict that was truly a one hell of a war that he was have to deal with and they played it well enough for me to engage, and the film keeps getting a bit better from there, overall, i think Reagan was a decent enough biopic for people to watch and for me to enjoy, it's not groundbreaking or really made that well in terms of what you called CINEMA, but i can pass it mostly as i am quite an enjoyer of biopic movies.
Infinity Pool (2023)
An Entertaining Disturbing Experience
Infinity Pool feels like a wild, surreal trip that channels Brandon's father signature vibe throughout, the film's unsettling chemistry and relationships are executed brilliantly, creating an eerie, captivating experience, added with Mia Goth, who seems born to play disturbingly unhinged characters, shines here, continuing her streak from X and Pearl, Alexander Skarsgård's performance is ambitious and fearless, his character's evolution and the unsettling concept of doubling are captivatingly strange and well executed enough for me to appreciate and enjoy all the way through this almost two hours of disturbing experience, overall, Infinity Pool is an entertaining wild drugs experience Cronenberg's type weirdness that i personally really enjoy.
Moana (2016)
A Heartfelt and Lovely Adventure Through Polynesian Waters
Moana is a delightful and exhilarating adventure filled with a captivating story, it's like The Little Mermaid, but with a richer sense of Polynesian culture and a greater emphasis on exploration and courage, and it was just incredibly well done, Dwayne Johnson lending his voice to Maui in what could be his best performance yet, even considering his live-action work, Auli'i Cravalho is also wonderful as Moana, bringing her character's spirit and resilience to life, the journey is deeply meaningful driven by Moana's close bond with her grandmother, her friendship with the mischievous demigod Maui, and her courageous mission to return the heart of Te Fiti, also added with either quite a catchy song or just a pure beauty of "How Far I'll Go", a song that perfectly captures Moana's determination, and the animation were also at times just looks really pretty, overall Moana is another Disney triumph, a fun lovely adventure full of hearts pour into it, kids will love it, adults will enjoy it, and i love it.
Here (2024)
A Creative Vision With Flaws
6.5/10
If Here had focused solely on the story of Tom Hanks and Robin Wright's characters, Richard and Margaret, it would have been a more cohesive experience and better film, instead, the film introduces multiple other stories taking place in the same house, but they really lack satisfying conclusions and also with no hearts put into it to those other story, then why do we have to care about they're story, these subplots hint at intriguing possibilities, yet they don't receive the depth or heart they deserve, some story got their parts longer some doesn't, at the same time they're story are still played decently that's why i'm still fine with it at times, but still they're story ends with no important conclusion, only Richard and Margaret's story is fully realized, and the focus on their journey is fantastic, Paul Bettany's performance is incredible, and the entire cast delivers excellently, the decision to tell the story from a single, unique perspective is a stroke of creative genius by Robert Zemeckis, and i found it surprisingly effective, the editing is also superb and really enhances the film's flow, again i just hope Here was focus on one story only, and the other could be done in the beginning and the rest was the important one, genius in a way that Robert Zemeckis find this great idea of taking it in a particular perspective and it works, those technical things and main story of the film was great, but what really flawed is how they put some other story in it while those story still play decently in the film, definitely one of the most creative and interesting flawed films of the year in my opinion.
Lee (2023)
A Good Biopic That Shows WWII Horror From An Intriguing Lens Of Lee Miller's View
Kate Winslet truly carries the entire film, embodying Lee Miller with a powerful performance in this well directed biopic, the movie presents a compelling story of a woman behind the camera during one of history most horrific time, the movie capture the horror and also enough of Lee relationship with her husband and her friends really makes it a better film too, it's basically another point of view of the WWII chaos and the Holocaust and the rest of the nightmare during that time, and Lee Miller's story in Lee serves as both another poignant reminder of those events and an intriguing point of view.
Life of Pi (2012)
An Interesting Journey With A Decent Survival Aspect
Life of Pi largely centers on Pi's survival at sea, and i do must admit that in terms of survival movie, i am much prefer the jungle type of survival like Cast Away for example or anything besides the ocean, because i've seen it before and even if i or you're not, it feels somewhat predictable and limited in terms of what can happen, and it doesn't usually bring anything new, while it was like that for the most part, what elevates this film is Ang Lee's creative choice to add visual richness to certain scenes, with all the visual and special effects that are stunning and captivating, adding a layer of beauty that enhances the experience, the survival aspect is decent, Pi's relationship with Richard Parker definitely adds depth and intrigue, and the performances are solid, while i do like Pi's part of the story before the disaster more, Life of Pi remains an ambitious film from Ang Lee and an interesting journey to follow.
Venom: The Last Dance (2024)
Venom: The Last Dance Delivers Chaos, Emotion, and Fun
If you've already come to terms with this version of Venom and Eddie Brock as more of a bromance than the savage, brutal duo from the comics, you're in for a fun ride, Venom: The Last Dance, the final chapter of the trilogy, delivers an entertaining ride with solid pacing, good performances, decent visual effects, and fun engaging enough story, added also with the joy of let all the madness fan service out makes Venom: The Last Dance an easy good time especially for me, even the serious part mostly with Chiwetel Ejiofor was executed pretty well, surprising wholesome moments with Rhys Ifans and his family characters, flawed? Sure, some of the editing cuts didn't quite work for me, there were a few cheesy, awkward moments that felt off, and nit picky here and there, overall, i have a good time with Venom: The Last Dance, and the most surprising thing also the least thing i could expect watching this supposed to be last time we'll see both Venom and Eddie was that i did get quite emotional at the end, it's clear they've evolved from mere host and symbiote to something much deeper, and their dynamic was surprisingly touching, my personal experience with these two also comes as long as these three movies together, and as the movie itself whether it's better than the first one which also a good movie in my opinion, The Last Dance succeeded my expectation from being far from bad, i want this goodbye to be at least watchable enough, and the result is more than that, Venom: The Last Dance is actually a good film, just like Venom would say, We are Venom, and this film makes sure we feel it.
The Substance (2024)
A Bold, Chaotic, and Unsettling Cinematic Experience
The Substance is the perfect definition of a once-in-a-lifetime experience, of course it's up to different people whether they would rewatch The Substance happily, but for me and i believe most viewers, once was more than enough, the film is chaotic, reminding me of Irréversible, though with a weirder, less realistic plot, it's bold, daring, and frankly, unthinkable at times, Coralie Fargeat's filmmaking is incredibly stylish and captivating, and the performances by Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley are exceptional, as far as i recall, the film offers no moment to catch your breath, it relentlessly digs deeper into your gut for the entire 141 minutes, although i felt it went a bit too far towards the end and could have ended anytime during that whole chaos sequence, the movie seems intent on ensuring that the audience leaves with the nightmare it conjures, and it certainly succeeded with me earlier, it's incredibly disturbing, horrifying, while it's perform and made incredibly well, overall besides The Substance definitely becoming one of the best films of the year, it's also one of the weirdest and disturbing film i've ever watch.
The Wild Robot (2024)
A Heartfelt Journey, The Wild Robot Brings Wholesome Charm
8.5/10
What impressive about The Wild Robot is how this wholesome story and relationship between almost the entire animal in this uninhabited island and Roz the robot is that they're personality is easy to love, easy to engage, and at in the end i felt like everything is wrapped way too quickly that i forgot it's actually a 102 minutes animated film feels 60, the whole cast was doing great in the voice acting, the new animation style that DreamWorks try to do with this beautiful animation added with sort of painted-ish background, while there are moments that may feel familiar, reminding you that this is one of many children's animated films, that's to be expected, though i did find that some of the more overused elements could have been retired, the film still worked for me overall, while The Wild Robot may not be a masterpiece, its characters and story absolutely shine, the relationships, bonds, and friendships developed throughout the film truly stole my heart, and i couldn't help but smile most of the time, it's undoubtedly one of the most delightful films of the year.
Pearl (2022)
A Thrilling Prequel That Outshines X
When I first watched X, I expected it to be a cringy slasher film with a clichéd plot about a group trying to make an adult film, however, Mia Goth completely transformed the atmosphere by portraying two characters, one of them being the film's villain, and it inspire Ti West to delve into the villain's backstory with Pearl, while I was pleasantly surprised by how much i enjoyed X, i have to admit that Pearl is undeniably the superior film, Ti West had clearly honed his filmmaking style, and Mia Goth had an even deeper understanding of her character, Pearl works perfectly as a prequel, presenting an intense and heartbreaking character arc of a girl seeking happiness but ultimately unraveling into something much darker, shaped largely by her mother's oppressive treatment, Tandi Wright gives an incredible performance as Pearl's mother, adding depth to their toxic dynamic, the film's unsettlingly cheerful tone in certain scenes is masterfully handled by Ti West, keeping viewers aware that this is far from the happy story it sometimes pretends to be, many would agree that Pearl stands on its own as a great film, meaning you don't necessarily need to watch X to appreciate it, though there are a few references, personally, i believe it's best to watch the films in release order, as a prequel should deepen the story of the original, that said, Pearl is an exceptionally well-crafted thriller, with excellent character development, outstanding performances, and a compelling origin story, it's a standout piece of work in its own right.
Joker: Folie à Deux (2024)
Less Violence, More Musical, A Polarizing Follow-Up, Love It Or Hate It
7.5/10
You either love it or you hate it, i didn't love it but i didn't hate it, i was in the middle but still on the positive side mostly because of Todd Phillips style of filmmaking, visually stunning, and incredible performances by all the cast, if you mind the slow burn 2 hours plus storytelling then there's a chance, but if you are not one of those who mind then stay off or go watch it when you can able to pause it, it was a lot of stuff in a movie that doesn't have a lot of stuff in it as it mostly takes during the aftermath of the first Joker which i think still a much superior film, i like it but i can felt the others when the movie does play the game a bit safer, less violence, more musical number, which in terms of the musicals specifically as it is the one aspect that people are concern, i'm a fan of musicals, and when it's really well choreograph and added with style, i personally really like it, i'm more disappointed at how those two things (the violence and the musical) didn't blend equally, besides that i enjoy most of the stuff, is there an unnecessary feeling for this movie serve as a sequel? Yes, but it's still a pretty good extended 2 hours and 18 minutes bonus content of what happen after the first movie in my opinion, and now we can send off the clown.
Wolfs (2024)
A Pretty Good Duo Crime Film That's Fun, But Could Be More
7.5/10
One thing's for sure was that Wolfs wouldn't be nearly as fun or entertaining without George Clooney and Brad Pitt as the duo, they are undoubtedly the best part of the film, while their chemistry grew on me over time rather than instantly, their performances were undeniably strong, Austin Abrams was also surprisingly good, and although some of the pacing was a bit slow, adding more action to those slower scenes would have made the film even more enjoyable, because everytime they did it it was so much fun not that they don't have an enjoyable moments, i just wish there is more, the story turned out to be much better than what I expected from the first 20 minutes, and i appreciated the improvement, i appreciate the change of direction or mission, however, it wasn't anything exceptionally groundbreaking. Wolfs is, at its core, a fun duo crime film featuring Clooney and Pitt with a sprinkle of comedy, solid performances, and a story that's entertaining enough, despite the occasional slow moments, which could have used more engaging sequences, it was still a pretty good time overall.
Irréversible (2002)
Bold, Messy, and Unforgettable, But Not for Everyone
7.5/10
What i just witness was a piece of work that are disturbingly realistic, and messy, as director Gaspar Noé just know and able to do whatever he likes with his own film, with that much of a freedom and wild mind in his head, producing one of the most wild movie experience i'd have, unique and strange filmmaking technique, interesting story timeline, and yes Irréversible was not everyone's cup of tea, including me who really amazed on how this movie was made, the performances, the look, and the story, i still couldn't stand the sometimes too long sequences, and just the many many words that these actors put out from their mouth in quite a lot of scenes, it's a type of movie that i might appreciate it more the more i watch it but for now once is enough, it's pretty good for being weird and strange film.
Priscilla (2023)
A Good Movie With Captivating Story And Great Performances, But Hindered From Being Perfect By It's Felt Slow Pacing
While i just can't get over the inaccuracy of Elvis height as it being portrayed by Jacob Elordi especially when he's standing, Elordi was just too tall as Elvis (and also too slim too), at least he's still giving us a good Elvis portrayal based on how he talks and sound, and Cailee Spaeny was just charming and fascinating as Priscilla, it's an interesting and intriguing enough story to tell in perspective of Priscilla Presley, and the good filmmaking style by Sofia Coppola, everything was just great and my only major complain was the pacing that are too slow, especially in the early timeline and so when it gets to the end of the timeline everything was just got skipped way too fast, it's a good movie but some people including me who didn't really like this slow pacing that i personally can really felt (although the positive side despite being too slow was that it's still fills with good stuff), might enjoy the more wild driven pacing and more crazy content with Baz Luhrmann Elvis movie with Austin Butler, it's longer but there is definitely more stuff in it, Priscilla is the more soft and chill version and take from a different perspective and person, overall i still really appreciate Priscilla.
IF (2024)
It Have A Charms In It While It's Also Still Have A Flawed In It
6.5/10
While i still believe the phrase "I'm not a kid anymore" means you will likely forget about your imaginary friends and you can't see them anymore, in terms of my experience with IF as a film was sort of like that, with different meanings, nowadays time a film like IF was indeed not my cup of tea anymore, it's either that or it's just Krasinski work that are flawed, but when IF works, it really works, and what works was all the heartwarming moments and emotional moments that i appreciate and works for me personally, and i'm not a shame to say that i did cry, again the movie as a whole wasn't bad, it's an average live action animated film for kids that deals with real life normal growing up phase on kids life, with a passable possibly original story written by Krasinski himself, it have a charms in it while it's also still have a flawed in it, still overall when it works i love it, Cailey Fleming is doing her best, Ryan Reynolds is a pretty good addition to the film, and maybe younger people might enjoy it more, at least it's not terrible.
Transformers One (2024)
Surprisingly A Good Transformers Movie, And An Animated Film That Older People Could Also Enjoy
And to whoever edit the trailer for this movie should be fired, i am here to tell you that Transformers One is a good Transformers movie, and one of the best in terms of all the film including the live action, it's beautifully animated, and what surprise me the most is how mostly flawless the voice acting was, i have doubt with the voice actors for this movie but when you hear it as a whole they just doing a great work in my opinion, and yes so do Keegan-Michael Key, in fact the movie also made me chuckle a couple of time and it's quite rare for me, the story while wasn't incredible or amazing, it's still good enough, but i think what made it not perfect was some of the pacing and sequences from the film that i found it either slow or a little bit boring while they still doing a not bad job, and i also appreciate the way they execute some of the dark stuff especially Megatron as we all know what ended up happen to him, the movie wasn't shy or scare to show the dark turn of Megatron and the way they did it i thought was quite excellent, i can see kids actually scared by it, the final battle was also one of the lift up moments from the film, and overall just a good Transformers animated movie, the first one since 1986, an animated film that older people could also enjoy.
Longlegs (2024)
Longlegs Is An Unsettling, Disturbing, Yet Fascinating Disclosure Of The Satan Worshipper
8.5/10
An unnerving experience, intense, and mind twisting, a horror film that makes you think is what we all needed rather than the usual stuff, a quite fascinating and intriguing puzzle of a case, Nicolas Cage is giving his new iconic role that is disturbing and scary, with Osgood Perkins great style of filmmaking and great work of cinematography, Longlegs ends with definitely one of the most disturbing end reveal, Maika Monroe uncomfortable great performance, unsettling vibes throughout the film, i just wish some of the pacing could've done better, and maybe a little bit more of Nicolas Cage but still not too much to keep his character a pure mystery, overall Longlegs is an unsettling, disturbing, yet fascinating disclosure of the Satan worshipper.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024)
An Entertaining 80s Throwback, Pretty Good Sequel With Some Actual Fun Stuff In It
7.5/10
While i might have some mixed feeling while watching it for the first time at some aspect of the story at the beginning cause i just don't know where it's going and if it's going on the direction that i don't want it's going to be a mixed bag, but fortunately it's going on a direction that i can still appreciate, i wasn't too crazy about the first Beetlejuice, i like it and it's pretty good overall, my problem with the original is that there wasn't enough Michael Keaton's in it, and some parts of the film that i just didn't find that interesting, and finally we get to have a lot more of Michael Keaton's in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and it's definitely one of the best thing in this sequel, with the returning of the charming Winona Ryder, the great Catherine O'Hara, now added the also quite charming Jenna Ortega, Willem Dafoe, and Monica Bellucci who sort of in the film, yes you can say there is a bit too much conflict in the film instead of just one main problem especially in the runtime of only 104 minutes, and some not so well cutting from one scene to another, but despite all of that i still quite enjoyed Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, legacy sequel or whatever you wanna called it, i can safely say that it's one of the better one, the one that i can say didn't really do damage to the original, in fact i like it a bit better, especially the last great 20 minutes of musical madness and some new creative sequence in the film that felt like a good upgrade to the original, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice still have some flaw, didn't think it was a crazy improvement from the original, but it's nowhere near bad and that's a good thing specifically for a legacy sequel, an entertaining 80s throwback, pretty good sequel with some actual fun stuff in it, and i might enjoy it even more the second time i watch it.
Borderlands (2024)
Borderlands, It's More Of Like A Whateverlands For Me
I just kept blaming on whoever decided to have this movie deal and to make it even worse they thought Lionsgate was a perfect studio to produce it, and this is what you get, a video game adaptation with a not small budget but they put almost zero effort to make it look good or decent, this is some Expendables 4 style of filmmaking, with bad green screen, bad camera work, and some terrible looking set, at least Expendables 4 have Jason Statham in it, and the good action, Borderlands have Kevin Hart in it, and even as a stars as Cate Blanchett in which she definitely the one that try the most to be at least ok in it, i still feel bad for her for doing this movie, Jamie Lee Curtis was bad, Jack Black voice was meh, the big guy and Tina was meh, it's a passable film for the most part for just being a straight away right into the mission type of pacing, and for me personally i quite enjoy that, but the last 20 minutes eventually became too silly and i just want the film to just end, i know zero thing about the Borderlands game and i never played it so i don't know about the accuracy of the film, the characters, and the story, but i feel like if i know the deep core of it i will absolutely dislike it even more, i just don't care, i see it as a wanna be comedy type of group film that have Kevin Hart in it that surely makes it a bit entertaining at least for me, and then magic stuff happen, yeah, whatever.
