Vendetta (2022)
Low budget, confusing story, and bad acting but nevertheless it was ok to pass the time.
When I saw the amount of great actors in this as well as the trailer I thought I was going to be in for a treat. Man oh man was I wrong. While it isn't worst movie I ever seen its pretty bad on quite few levels. Which is shame because it had to the ability to be good.
First lets start with the acting. The only actor I thought did excellent was Theo Rossi he played an excellent villian and was highly entertaining throughout. Not much good be said about his supporting cast. Bruce was as wood as ever and phoned in another cash grab. Mike Tyson looked out of place completely. Thomas jane was boring or choppy. Lastly Clive Standan was ok but I just don't feel he was convincing in hero like role.
Second the low budget on this movie was greatly showing at times. Some scenes characters would find out things out of the blue with no direction from anyone else. Scenes would go from light outside to dark immediately. Plus cheap looking fire fights and action.
Last but not least the story while done millions of times before as whole was ok. But it could been lot better, I felt that the plot was confusing to begin with and therefore set the odd tone throughout. It needed to be better executed.
Overall is this worth a watch? Once Id say yes if you're looking to kill time. But outside of that avoid recommending or watching this with other people.
The Guilty (2021)
Not even Gyllenhaal's great acting could save this one.
Honestly this was one of the worst movies I've seen in awhile. It was draggy, boring, and low budget. On top of the fact that the entire movie is in just one location. Jake gives his best effort as always, which is why this is rated a 2 instead of 1 but other than that nothing here is good. Avoid at all costs.
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (2021)
Everyone involved meant well, however this was a total let down.
I'm huge fan of video game series beating every single one ever made. While that could make my opinion biased. I'm reviewing this solely based on the movie itself.
I wanted to like the movie, I truely did because it had potential and I even argued with few my friends while we were watching. However by the time the credits rolled through I too was dissapointed.
First the first half of the movie is insanely draggy. Like literally nothing happening at all just alot of non-sensical dialogue. I say that because the movie squandered an opportunity that could been used as good introduction for all the main characters. Secondly the movie is bereft of all scares. They hardly attempted any jump scenes or anything that could make the viewer terrified. The zombies & creatures were also terribly done. Lastly the movie lacked overall action. Sure a couple scenes had guns blazing and weren't bad but you could literally blink and they were over.
With all this said the only reason I'm giving the movie any stars at all is due to it including several characters from the series, as well as an attempt at the source material from the first and second game.
Outside of that I recommend the film be avoided at all costs for fans and non-fans alike. I found the Alice series films way better then this nonsense.
Halloween Kills (2021)
Its has its up's and down's but overall its a decent watch.
I'm a huge fan of the Halloween Series. So as you can imagine, I was very excited and looking forward to this film. But upon conclusion while I did like it I wasn't blown away and most likely wouldn't see it again.
I did enjoy what they did with Michael Myers from the acting to the costume design. The movie also had plenty of blood, violence, & gore throughout which was great.
However the movie is severly lacking almost everywhere else. The pacing was inconsitent, character actions were dumb, plot was non-existant, and lastly the visuals felt dated for a newer movie.
Overall its decent watch for those who're into slasher films or fans of the series wouldn't recommend to anyone else.
Bingo Hell (2021)
Turned it off almost half way through
Slow, dry humor, bizarre plot, and annoying characters. I hated everything about this movie and just could't fathom watching anymore.
Queenpins (2021)
Hated this movie
From watching the trailer I thought it would be a crime/comedy along the lines of Pain and Gain. Instead what you get was snail pacing, boring story, zero comedy, and annoying characters. Avoid this at all costs. I wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.
Prey (2021)
Horrible movie
Honestly this might be one worst I've seen In awhile. Low budget, bad acting, incoherent plot, and bad ending. Highly recommend avoiding this.
Escape Room: Tournament of Champions (2021)
First one was great, this one gave me a headache.
I was very excited to for this sequel to this movie. However by the halfway point, I was just hoping for the movie to end. Outside of the visuals and effects which I thought were fantastic, everything else stunk.
First the acting was so bad in this movie. Second the movie diddn't have a coherent direction and it was all over the place. Third things that happened as well as characters actions defyed any sort of logic even for a movie. Lastly the movie overall was very draggy.
Skip this one, you're not missing anything here.
Vacation Friends (2021)
This movie isn't for everybody but I personally loved it.
I'm a huge John Cena throughout all his career as well as always found Lil Rel to be funny and entertaining. So my review could be slightly biased but I definitely enjoyed this movie.
First the visuals are absolutely stunning you can tell they put a good amount of budget behind this film. The premise albeit similiar and something we've definitely seen before, still worked formulaic. As far as comedy goes the movie was very funny and even heartwarming by the end of the film. The only reason I diddn't give this movie a 10 out of 10 had to do with pacing at times. For the most part it was fine, but there were parts that felt little dragged.
I would definitely recommend this movie to late teens to younger adults as I think they'll have alot of fun here. Older crowd I think could have lukewarm response due to good percentage of jokes being drug related.
The Mad Hatter (2020)
Hand's down the worst movie I ever seen.
Extremely low budget, horrendous acting, zero scares, and boring plot. Honestly there would of been more entertainment in watching the money wasted on this be burned in a bonfire instead.
DOA: Dead or Alive (2006)
You're either going to hate or love it. I honestly loved it.
I'll be the first person to say this movie is far from masterpiece. If anything its silly, cheesy, and the acting is bad. However it has enough action, the pacing is good, as well bit of romance/emotion make it all work. Id only recommend to people who are little openminded or teenagers to young adults demographic who I think would have alot fun here. Not as much though for an older crowd or people who are very critical when it comes to movies.
Sweet Girl (2021)
Started off great, then so-so, and then became horrible.
This movie honestly had potential to be great. I loved the beginning it did good job of introducing the characters and also was pretty emotional as well. By the time the middle act came around the film started unraveling a bit pacing getting a bit slower and movie getting a bit confusing at times. The final act the "Twist" if you want to call it that infuriated me so much I honestly wanted to turn the movie off. Maybe others would like it, but I wasn't a fan.
With all that said though. The visuals were good, as well as the acting from all parties. The action was hit or miss some really good others eh not so much. I personally wouldn't recommend this movie.
Payback (2021)
Starts off good but gets much worse as the movie goes on.
This is a clearly low budget b-movie with no name actors. I obviously wasn't expecting a masterpiece but something decent just to pass the time by. At first it seemed alright. Interesting premise, acting wasn't horrible, visuals looked ok, etc. But literally right after the protoganist jail scene the movie just went off the tracks.
Extremely slow and draggy, incoherent direction, plot holes, horrendous acting/dialogue, and cheap/cheesy shootouts. The ending was easyly one of the worst I had ever seen.
I would avoid this movie at all costs definitely not worth it to see it.
The Forever Purge (2021)
It had some flaws, but overall It was good.
I'm huge fan of the Purge series and but almost avoided this one due to the massively negative feedback. The premise also diddn't entice me at all either. However I went on date and she was begging to see it so decided to give it try.
I was honestly surprised it wasn't terrible by any means, in fact I thought it was good. I will say though that it is definitely the weakest one in series however. The movie's pacing was decent. It does start of bit slow/draggy but once it gets going its a fun ride from there on in. I wouldn't qualify this as horror movie however though there was zero scares and it was mainly action packed shooter. Which I felt it did succeed as, great shootouts, hand to hand fights, and so on. But for the people looking for frights they won't be happy. The main characters while I did find myself rooting for them and thought the acting was fine, I wasn't super enthralled/in love with them by any means and thought they were very one dimensional. As far as the visuals go the movie did great job on that end.
Overall I would recommed it. The movies good time killer that'll keep you entertained if you're into gory shoot em ups.
The Misfits (2021)
This movie was terrible!!!
I saw the horrendous reviews before watching this film and thought to myself, it can't be that bad let me see if I can prove the critics wrong. Unfortunately they were 100% correct. This movie was massive dumpster fire.
Incredibly slow and boring. The acting was cheesy and dialouge was even worse. Brosnan who I'm usually a massive fan of only showed up for the paycheck and Roth wasn't to far behind. Nick Cannon also should have any future acting role revoked hes one of the worst of all time.
The only redeeming traits this movie had was the visuals which I found to be for a B-movie amazing. Outside that this movie isn't worth a lick. Avoid at all costs!
F9 (2021)
It wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen, but it definitely wasn't good either.
The Fast & Furious series has long forgone being about cars/thrills quite few movies ago and instead has taken on action/adventure role. At this point the fans still around know that and have already accepted it. With that said I have enjoyed all the movies up to this one.
I'm not sure if it was that the pandemic effected it or the change in directors but this film was ok at best. Even me saying that I believe I'm being biased because im huge fan of the series.
First the movie is all over the place. The plot is incoherent, the flow/direction of the movie is odd, the acting/dialogue is average at best, and without giving to much away some of the scenes are just completely unrealistic. The type of stuff you see out of a superhero or john wick esque type of movie. With that said the movie did have some decent action as well as the visuals were pretty good. It also was decent way to pass the time by but for sure isn't winning any awards and has zero rewatchability. I'd only recommend to die hard fans of this series and even so they'll be dissapointed. Everyone steer away from this.
How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast) (2019)
I loved everything about this show except one thing.
I stumbled across this show randomly looking for something to watch on netflix. I had no idea what to expect, but the premise seemed interesting enough to me so thought to myself why not? Wow did I make a good decision.
How to sell drugs online is thrilling, emotional, funny, and engaging all at the same time. The visuals are stunning and the pacing is amazing. The show is very unique as well in its own way and is a great watch for teenagers/adults alike.
My only reason I diddn't give the show a 10 and I can see alot viewers feeling the same way. Had to do with my heavy dislike of the main character. Hes very annoying, strange, creepy, selfish, obnoxious, & the list could go on. He doesn't get better either as the seasons go on. The supporting characters however I loved and had no complaints about.
With all that said, definitely recommend giving this show a watch its entertaining and a great time killer.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
It is a little overrated in my opinion but it was still a good movie.
After in my opinion was a massive dissapointment from the first suicide squad I diddn't know what to expect from this one. So I waited few days upon release to see what the general consensus would be. The reviews were overwhelming positive across the board and I was more then excited to see this one based on that. But upon conclusion while I did enjoy the movie, I was left scratching my head as to why the reviews were really high.
First off the pros, the cast is very good and the acting was to across the board. The visuals were great, and for 2 hour plus movie the pacing wasn't bad by any means. The movie did contain alot of action and good amount charm too. It overall was big step up from its predecessor.
With all that said though there was quite few negatives. First there was hardly any plot at all and at times the story did meander around. The comedy aspect the film tried to obtain was cringeworthy and very awkward. I also just felt the film direction was odd. The movie was kind of campy at times. It diddn't have that darker, more serious tone that the prior film had which I felt was about only thing its predecessor had done right.
Would I recommend this film? Absolutely its definitely fun and good time killer. I just wouldn't personally see it again and don't agree with the excessively high reviews.
Grandma's Boy (2006)
It definitely isn't for everyone but I enjoyed it nonetheless
I had originally seen this movie when it first came out but I was 12 at the time and wasn't really aware of alot references or jokes made. I had mainly saw it because I was into video games and thought it was just ok. Now in my late 20's I had just finished watching it with a friend who has never seen it at all and we really liked the movie.
I will start off by saying this movie has target audience of mainly late teens to young adults. I don't see an older audience finding much enjoyment here. As well is more of stoner/silly comedy type of movie so those are into that steer away as well.
I'll start by saying it has great cast. Some actors in this movie were actually pretty young at the time and went on to have good careers. Its pretty funny throughout and kept me laughing good amount of the time. The pacing is also good and never does the movie feel draggy or slow at all. My only reason for not giving a 10 had more to do with the movie taking place in basically two areas. After awhile it got tiresome and was hoping more of like Harold & Kumar type of adventure. But I'm assuming this was due to budget constraits since this movie wasn't made on big budget. Overall would defintely recommend to those grouped in what I listed theres lot fun to be had here.
Jolt (2021)
One word = Terrible
Honestly this one of the worst movies I've seen in awhile. I hardly even wanted to give it 2 stars even. I strictly gave that off the short run time and the visuals which I felt were fantastic. But outside of that this was a massive stinker.
The acting from all parties was brutal which was a shame because this had good cast in it. The premise was completely idiotic and stupid. The director was trying to make movie similiar to the likes of Crank. But this film isn't clever nor engaging enough to pull that off. The comedic aspect the movie tryed to stride for was massive miss. I diddn't crack smile once, and the action was choppy and lame.
Avoid this movie at all costs. I don't know whats up with Amazon lately but they really should start considering to give up on creating movies because the last few have been brutal and I don't think its there forte.
Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard (2021)
It's not as good as its predecessor, but its still fun nonetheless
I'm honestly surprised to see all the 1-2 star reviews. I think its mainly from people who diddn't even see the first film or just the type of people who have to take every movie seriously.
This movie is more of a campy over the top action movie with a pretty good cast. It isn't masterpiece and will never win any awards. But Its entertaining throughout and the pacing is great so that doesn't matter. My main issue with this one, compared to the previous has to do with the comedy aspect. The first one had me cracking up non-stop. This time around I maybe cracked a laugh a couple of times. However the action is still intense and even gory at times. I would def recommend this movie if you're looking for some good fun and to kill some time.
Black Widow (2021)
It diddn't blow my socks off, but it was a good movie nonetheless.
I'm a huge Marvel fan. I usually see every one of the movies in there debut. This was first ever exception. There was just so many mixed reviews. I honestly just avoided seeing it for little. Upon conclusion however I personally felt it was good movie although there were things I diddn't like.
First I felt the film almost lacked superhero feel. The movie played as more of Mission Impossible. With the plane jumping, explosions, car chases, etc. Also contributing to that was the super villian Taskmaster was severly under-utilized and lackluster. Secondly I diddn't really enjoy the entire family dynamic at all and felt at times it was cheesy and if anything detracted more from Black Widows story then it helped the movie along.
With that said though I did think the visuals and sound effects in this movie were out of this world. I thought Scarlett Johansson continued her role of Black Widow very well. Also I found the movies pacing to be good especially for 2 hours I felt it breezed by and did enough to keep audience entertained without ever feeling draggy at all.
Would I rewatch the movie ever again? Most likely not to be honest. Would I recommend it to others? I would say absolutely its worth a watch, but mainly to Marvel fans. The movie can be little confusing to those who haven't seen the prior films.
No Sudden Move (2021)
Had some flaws but I throughly enjoyed this film.
Excellent visuals, great cast, and very good acting from all parties. This movie was definitely more entertaining and enjoyable then I thought it would be. Pacing was fine and it diddn't feel draggy at all. My main complaint for not giving 10 stars had to do with lack of thrills and small amount of action. Overall definitely would recommend giving this watch.
Wrath of Man (2021)
Worst movie I've seen Statham in awhile, but it's still watchable.
I was really excited for this film. Strictly based off cast and premise. I diddn't even watch any trailers on this because I diddn't want to know what to expect. Upon conclusion of the film I was left dissapointed.
First the movie is bit to long they could of shaved off 20-25 minutes and nothing would of changed at all. Second the acting from all parties wasn't great by any means Statham included. Lastly I felt direction the movie took was odd and that the movie could been alot better if it was formulated differently.
With all that said the visuals weren't bad, there was good amount of action, and the ending was very satisfying. Just don't go into this film with high hopes and you'll have an ok time.
Pig (2021)
Everything was great except for the direction.
First I want to start off this review by saying this movie is most definitely not for everyone. Some of the genres this movie is listed under are highly inaccurate. This isn't a mystery or a thriller at all. This is a slow-burn emotional drama film. So please note that before going into this film that this isn't John Wick esque type of movie. Without giving to much away this movie follows a World Class chef who gave up the high life and instead decided to go into reclusion in the forrest with a pig, who is then stolen from him.
The movie does alot of things well like the visuals which are really stunning, the acting which is excellent, and the plot was good to. Where this movie failed to me is that it is entirely to slow. Also it doesn't have enough exciting or thrilling moments as well as viewer could careless about any of the characters in this film. I understand what the director was trying to convey but it was done poorly. On top of it there were lot of things left unexplained that if explained, could of honestly helped the story along.
Overall it isn't bad watch, I thought the movie was decent. But its most definitely not rewatchable or something memorable. I also personally wouldn't recommemd it unless you're looking to kill some time.
