I sometimes wonder if everyone has lost their minds. I'm dumbfounded at the rave reviews this show is getting on this app. What happened to intelligent viewers? Do they not care about quality anymore? Or are they trying to convince themselves this awful show was great? Here's a NO BS review: Nobody Wants This probably should've been a 90-minute film, and ten years ago, this pile of junk would've been a mid-budget theatrical late summer release. Instead, Netflix spread a boring story this thin into ten episodes, which feels like Netflix's cynical ploy to squeeze more dollars out of their ad-based subscription tier. The story also does not reach a resolution; the last few minutes of the finale make it clear the creators are angling for a second season, and why not? It seems no one knows what a great show is anymore. So let's give them more of this junk. Well played, Netflix, well played. You've created an entire generation of mindless viewers.
So this show came to Netflix after Starz canceled it after two seasons. I'm not a wrestling fan but thought I would give it a go anyway because why not. I was instantly hooked. It's one of the best shows I've seen in years. Solid writing, very likeable characters and interesting story telling that kept me engaged. I thought, "hmm, better than I thought it would be" and I kept watching. By the time I got to the end of season one I was completely enamored by this show. I just finished season two and it was nothing short of spectacular. I can't stress enough how much I love this show. Everything about it is great. Alas, season 2 ended on a doozy of a cliffhanger and now we wait to see if Netflix will revive it for a season 3. I hate what streaming services have done to television. So many wonderful shows get canceled now because the numbers aren't there. People seem to be too busy watching garbage instead. This show absolutely needs another season. To leave it end like this with that cliffhanger should be illegal. DO THE RIGHT THING NETFLIX. GIVE US A SEASON 3.
This movie starts out really good. First half hour- 45 minutes and I was surprised at how engrossed I was in the story. And then of course the Netflix curse kicks in. It went from "Wow this is good" to "oh no, here we go again with the cheesy garbage." It really goes downhill and gets worse as the movie progresses. It seems Netflix just chat do anything right anymore. Cheap garbage in high quantity seems to be the Netflix formula now. Just keep throwing tons of crap at subscribers to keep them paying for a service that is ultimately not worth it anymore. Cheesy acting, plot holes galore and cheap production value. The ending was even worse. It got 3 stars from me for the first half hour but the rest is less than zero.
