Mr. Bean played by Rowan Atkinson, is an iconic character practically all of us are somewhat familiar with. This is a movie with Mr. Bean as a character obviously, that you can get a good laugh at. The movie has an interesting plot, the character Mr. Bean going on a vacation. What you're probably most familiar with Mr. Bean is the bunch of mishaps that happen to him. That's what you see in the movie. The movie shows a bunch of mishaps, you'd want to avoid happening while you're traveling. Including things like missing a train, getting separated from a family member, being somewhere you're not familiar with, trying to get around, losing luggage, losing a passport, losing a wallet, losing tickets. Having mishaps, but making friends on the way, that become like family members later in the film. This movie is a very simple movie. Not a high-budget action movie with lots of special effects, and having super-heroes try to safe the earth, with a plot that can be hard to understand. This movie has a pretty straight-forward plot. It takes us around France, to areas most of us that have been to France, probably haven't been to. It has scenes that show the beauty of France. It has good music that fits into a Mr. Bean movie. It gives a feel of traveling. I feel like it also feels relatable, even though some of the things that happen in the movie aren't realistic. It still feels relatable. Best of all, this movie is a real comedy. As stressful as life is for any of us, as much as you can be feeling sad or depressed on another topic. It's nice to forget the stressors in life, and be laughing. You'll get just that while watching the movie. It's a really funny movie, probably one of if not the funniest movie you've ever seen. I probably wouldn't consider this the funniest movie I've ever seen, but it's definitely up there as one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. It's a movie that will get you laughing, and it feels like it doesn't try too hard to be funny, it just is. You'll probably feel better watching a movie like this, when things are rough for you. So, not just an entertaining movie but a simple movie that will get you laughing, plus show the beauty of nature, the beauty of France. I think it has a couple of slow scenes, but other scenes that will get you laughing.
I seriously can't believe it, but the original Twister movie is 28-years old. It's a classic, it still works today, like it's worth watching if you want a movie night, even if you've seen it before and it's still frequently referenced. I really enjoyed that movie as a kid, and since the movie came out, I've been wondering if they'd do a sequel? The way the original Twister ended, pretty much concluded the plot where you might not think a sequel was necessary. But, for fast paced Tornado action we have in Twister, you probably still want it. Anyway, years later they came out with a new movie based on the movie, Twister called Twisters. You can ask whether this movie is supposed to be a sequel or a remake? If you've seen the trailer and are familiar with Twister, you'd probably notice scenes that look similar to the original. That's how it felt while watching this movie. The way the movie was shot, gave it the feel of the original. The plot was different, but felt a lot like the original. Tornado Chasers, chasing tornadoes probably more so and in more dangerous situations than real life tornado chasers get themselves into. Movies that could get you interested in tornadoes and tornado chasing. Using a tornado instrument called Dorothy in the original and also this one, as you probably saw if you saw the trailer. Plus, trying to use other tornado instruments to get them into a tornado or research a tornado, which felt like it made less sense, was less believable, or was less understandable than just trying to get Dorothy into the Tornado. Having some similar tornado action, and characters that felt like they'd fit in with the tornado chasers in Twister. Even references, like Bill's iconic Red Pick-Up Truck in the original. A pick-up truck in this movie was intentionally similar looking. Even other vehicles used looked like ones we could have seen in Twister. The storyline, being somewhat similar, but less straightforward and less believable. Even a reference on IMDB I didn't notice while watching the movie, a shirt Kate wearing. She seemed to dress similar to Jo, in Twister. But, one of the shirts was similar to what a boy wore in the original Twister movie, in a very quick scene at the end. One reference I thought of, whether it was intentionally put in or not? But, it could still be a reference to the original movie even though it's not on IMDB. If you've looked into details of the original Twister movie, or even heard of things that unintentionally made it into a movie, not mistakes or a crew member scene, but something that happened to unintentionally make it on set and be on set during filming. During a memorable scene in Twister of the characters taking a shortcut driving through a cornfield and then make it to a road running into the other group nearly colliding. Something you probably wouldn't have noticed with how quick it is, and even if you did notice, you probably thought it was intended for the movie. There happened to be a random naked man in the cornfield right at that scene without nudity. It seemed unintentional, and probably wasn't noticed until the final cut, just somebody that was unintentionally in the way of filming, even for a quick moment. But, this movie has a moment where a mother tells a story of another character in a cornfield naked, which could have been a reference to what unintentionally happened in Twister, or was just added to tell a funny story without trying to relate to that, somebody like me thought it was still another reference to. You might think of more movie references this has to the original. But, anyway it's not the best movie. It can't beat the original, it had some scary moments. I feel like it could have included the scary minor music like from the opening scene in the original. You most likely will also not think it's better than the original, but still an interesting Tornado movie, feeling like the original.
It's Summer right now. When you think of the season of Summer, one of the first things that probably comes to your mind, is swimming in an outdoor swimming pool. A lot of us like swimming and it's nice to cool off in a pool. The movie even emphasized how swimming is good for the body, like water therapy. So, yes a lot of us like swimming and want to do it when it's nice out. But, for some of us probably more so when we were little kids, are afraid of something supernatural/creepy happening in a swimming pool which can keep you from swimming, even if you want to swim. That is obviously the plot of the movie. The movie for one, rather than a cinematic supernatural horror movie, definitely sounds like something from Goosebumps or other R. L. Stine Horror shows, like The Haunting Hour. The concept of the movie, a family moving into a new house/neighborhood. The Waller Family. The Father Ray, that used to be a baseball player. His wife, Eve and their kids Izzy and Elliot that are like adolescents. They also have a cat named Cider. They're all excited about a new house with a pool, only to notice some supernatural things about the pool, they can hardly explain. Also, to find out how years earlier, back in the early '90s there was something supernatural that happened on the property, trying to explain what it is with the pool? Does the plot sound like something you'd read from Goosebumps? While, it's a movie with a similar sounding plot, it's not related to that series. Since a lot of us like swimming, along with swimming being good for you, plus the fear we could have of something happening in your swimming pool even when your swimming pool looks normal, that's what the movie does. An ordinary looking swimming pool, with a bad history to it, where some paranormal things start to happen that the family can't explain at first. There are underwater scenes, that make the pool seem much deeper, like an underwater dimension with creepy things underneath. Making a pool seem much deeper than how it looks, in some underwater scenes. Other underwater scenes gave the feel of what it's like to swim in an ordinary swimming pool underwater, with the proper underwater sound effects like what you'd hear underwater in a pool, plus lighting effects of how it looks underwater looking above to the surface underwater and seeing the sun on a nice day. It shows the excitement of swimming in a pool, plus games we play in swimming pools like Marco Polo, along with a game I don't know the name, but having somebody throw coins in the pool, and see if you can dive and get them? It will remind you of those pool games. Overall, I can't think of any movie that emphasizes swimming in a swimming pool more than this one, obviously the main plot of the movie. But, I'm telling you while this movie hasn't had the best reviews. I wouldn't say it's the best movie, it does have a different concept of swimming pool horror, but it does feel similar to other horror movies. But, I enjoyed it! The movie seemed to have a lot of perspective to it. The movie in some ways feel relatable, even if it might not feel like you knew the characters too much, and would feel like you need to see them in another movie or a sequel. This movie doesn't really feel like it's sequel worthy, but an interesting concept for the 1 hour and 38 minutes of screen time. I'm just trying to say, "DON'T YOU LIKE SWIMMING, AND ISN'T IT NICE TO HAVE A HORROR FILM ABOUT SWIMMING POOL HORROR IN YOUR OWN SWIMMING POOL?" One other thing to give this movie a good review, and this is like the only movie I've reviewed a movie where I mention this. Since movies end with end credits, the song at the end credits after a movie that deals with an ordinary family and swimming pool horror. The end credits song, "Deeper" was just an awesome, legit song at the end credits for such a movie. I don't see how you couldn't like that song? As you probably already saw, if you read this review I'm giving it an 8/10. I think it's an enjoyable movie, but probably not your favorite movie, still somewhat enjoyable and dealing with swimming pool horror.
