Of course I had never heard about this 2019 Nigerian movie titled "Heist" prior to stumbling upon it by random chance here in 2025. And since it was a movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I opted to give the movie a fair chance.
The storyline in the movie was pretty simplistic, and actually rather mundane and boring. I was by no means impressed with the script and storyline that writer Mary Okonta managed to conjure up for director Umanu Elijah to bring to the screen. The pacing of the storyline was really sluggish, and it wasn't as if there was much of anything interesting or exciting happening throughout the course of the 91 minutes that the movie ran for.
Needless to say that I was not familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie. The acting performances were fair, I suppose, but I can't claim that I found any of the performances to be outstanding or memorable.
The music in the movie was ridiculous, especially the horn music, as it was giving the movie a silly cartoonish feel.
My rating of director Umanu Elijah's 2019 movie "Heist" lands on a generous two out of ten stars.

Now, I was initially lured into watching the 2022 horror movie "We Found Something" given it's cover. I found it to be an interesting cover. And with it being a horror movie that I had neither heard about nor seen, of course I opted to watch it. After all, I am a big horror fan.
However, the movie's cover was the best part about the ordeal that turned out to be "We Found Something". Why? Well, simply because it was a found-footage movie. And I absolutely loathe that type of movie.
The storyline that writer Jesse Heisel, whom also directed the movie, was bland and very, very generic. Not to mention slow paced and rather uneventful, which just added to the agony that was sitting through 88 minutes of the torture that the movie was.
The girl filming herself for whatever pathetic video channel she was running for her "followers" was one of the most annoying characters I've witnessed in a long, long time, complete with insanely annoying dialogue.
Needless to say that I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. Not that there was a lot of performers on said list. The acting performances were fair enough for a home made video project such as "We Found Something", but nothing outstanding or impressive.
Visually, well, not impressive. The creature design had me laughing when you get to see it.
The shoddy, shaky hand-held camera presentation of a movie just doesn't sit well with me, not in the least.

I had not heard about this 2023 Western titled "Doc Holliday" prior to sitting down to watch it here in 2025. I stumbled upon the movie by random luck, and it did seem like an interesting enough Western, given its focus on John Henry Holliday, and thus I opted to give the movie a fair chance.
The storyline in the movie, however, was a bit sluggish, and the narrative suffered from that. Writer and director Brett Bentman seemed to take his sweet time going from A to B, but managing very little in the process. I have to admit that I was starting to zone out about halfway through, as there simply wasn't enough action or interesting storytelling going on.
The only face on the screen that I was familiar with was actor Billy Blair. I will say, though, that the acting performances in the movie were fair.
A good thing about the movie was that it definitely looked and felt like a Western movie. So thumbs up for the movie makers for accomplishing that.
"Doc Holliday" was a watchable enough movie, sure, but I am willing to bet that diehard Western fans will enjoy writer and director Brett Bentman's movie more than I did as a casual viewer. This is by no means a movie that I will return to watch a second time.
My rating of "Doc Holliday" lands on a generous four out of ten stars.
