It's only the 3rd Visconti's movie i watch. I intend to correct soon this mistake, and watch all of them.

First of all, this is totally forgotten and underappreciated. I haven't seen anyone mentioned this movie. I know every Visconti's movie even though i haven't watched them, his movies are a cultural milestone. But i didn't know this movie. Only 13 reviews here reaffirm my impression that this has been ignored.

In any case, this is a great movie. Of course it is visually beautiful and cinephiles will like it just for the cinematography or those charismatic actors. But there's more to it. There is a great story here, it's touching, classy, sad and exciting. I mean, there is not a single boring scene here. You can feel the mysteries lurking inside these walls. Atmosphere is claustrobic and eerie, characters are so well written that viewer totally buys this plot, it's almost anxienty-inducing at some point.

A gut-wrenching (but not misery porn, this stays classy and majestic all the way) movie that every person who loves Cinema, will be glad to watch it.

I watched this with zero expectations because i don't remember many good action movies lately. John Wick franchise, those 2 EXTRACTION movies with Hemsworth, Equalizer 3, an Indian movie (Kill, 2023) and that's it. No other worh mentioned action movies from this decade.

So, i was pleased because CARRY-ON delivered what it promised. It's more of an action/thriller than a pure action movie, don't expect many action scenes/shootings and killings but it was an intense movie that made me invested. Absolutely entertaining, without being dragged.

No need for nitpicking, of course a tremendous amount of suspension of disbelief is required in order to enjoy it. This is not very good, there are plot holes, it's unrealistic as it gets and this is only for action movies fans. But every action movie is literally unconvincing and unrealistic. We don't watch them as documentaries, but as entertainment products. CARRY-ON is not John Wick, it's not even EXTRACTION, this is an inferior movie. But it was entertaining .

  • 8.1/10. One of the best movies of 2020's.

This is not a very big praise because this decade so far is the worst cinematic decade of all time. Good (and some great) movies are still being made, but the vast majority of them is mediocre or bad. Still, GOTG 3 is a great movie, and it would have been great, whenever it was released.

This movie has nothing to be jealous of other similar entertainment blockbusters of the past. This is a cultural monument for this kind of entertaining Cinema for children and adults. There is action, intense moments, laughter, deep characters, positive messages, even tears. I am in my 40's but i admit that i cried during some scenes, bittersweet tears of joy and compassion for these characters who are not even human beings. I am not getting that emotional the last years, i have watched way more tear-jerking movies and i didn't feel anything.

And here, i had goosebumbs like a 10 years old kid, watching just a (legendary though) scene with NO SLEEP TILL BROOKLYN playing in the background.

James Gunn is one of the -not so many- hopes of the whole entertainment industry. Now i am sure that new SUPERMAN will be a blast.
