Silo: Order (2024)
Filler and boomerangs ep 1 and 2
When you start a season off with boomerang episodes, it's a sign its about to be a filler season. 1st episode slow walked us for the whole duration just to show us someone is alive in the new bunker. That episode ends with a cliff hanger. That had viewers all ready to see who this person was on episode 2 but guess what, that episode jumps back to the old bunker. Episode one and two has nothing that links them together to improve the story line. They are two stand alone episodes. This boomerang style episodes is what ruined the Walking Dead series. If the writers and directors where smart, they could have trimmed the fat from the first two episodes and combined them. I understand they get paid by the episodes but at the same time, too much filler will kill a series.
Ahsoka: Part Seven: Dreams and Madness (2023)
Madness is the perfect title!
It's funny the bearded monk didn't take the light saber, but later picked up a blaster during fight. Grand Unadmirable Prawn pretends to be a master strategist but everything he does seems to help out his enemies aiding in their escape. Grandma Soka training looked like a stiff board moving through molasses. 3PO's cameo was boring and while he handed them some data chip, we never got to see what's on. So basically they took an androids word that Leigh approved the mission. Oh....and yes, Punk Rock Girl is the worst actress on TV. No emotion while in a gun battle fighting for her life. Deliberately blocking blaster shot with her beskar armor as a Jedi with a light saber. Darth Poodle looked lost after the fight only to have Grandma Soka offer her a hand to help. She runs away like a teen being put on punishment by their parents instead sticking around and continue the fight like Darth Maul in the Phantom Menance. This show is horrible and seems it was created to target 5-12 year olds with elementary dialogues and powder puff fight scenes.
Boardwalk Empire (2010)
Great Series
Love this series from start to finished. Great character building during each season. Nothing unbelievable to which makes it a fantasy. Not going to say it's a factual show for the time period, but it gives you close enough feel to make you think you are living in it.
Love the way it shows a lot of notorious gangsters in their infacy and give you an idea of what they possible could have been put through to make them who they are. It's a full time ruthless job to make it to the top.
It just don't focus on the criminals, you the perspective of politicians, law enforcement, street walkers, and families.
Great series!
Ahsoka: Part Four: Fallen Jedi (2023)
Part Four: Comes before Five
Green spray paint General argues with a lieutenant about leaving and steals a ship and tells green head kid, "If you are a General you get to disobey orders too." Not only is she disobeying orders but she is taking a kid into combat. Yes, it is a Sci fi film but what reason would you endanger the life of a non combatant? I guess they are sitting him up to be the next baby princess Leia of the series.
Dumb robot works on the ship outside on its own only to be ambushed by some ninja stealth ninja robots. Of course he wasn't going to get the ship fixed, this is just to buy time for the Green Spray Paint General to come save the day and give the girls time for an all female action scene in the dark scary woods.
Punk Rock Girl and Darth Poodle Eyes has another square off in some dark woods. Darth Poodle only manage to kill a few trees. After disarming Punk Rock Girl, she hesitate to kill her just to remind her she has no power before being disarmed armed herself.
As that fight going on, the Mysterious Gimp is sliced in half with a DEADLY LIGHT SABER and green smoke balloons from his costume.
Ray Stevenson put on a remarkable light saber battle delivered some well needed dialogue during his short screen appearance. (That's why I gave this episode a 2 instead of a 1).
With that being said, punk rock surrenders the orb and turns herself over.
The end.
Ahsoka (2023)
Feels like this was to target 14 and younger crowd and still missed its mark!
We have a general, that looks no more than 20 with green spray paint on her. Her acting is so horrible and it seems her script is read off a teleprompter. With her being a General, she perform the daily task of a low ranking soldier. Engaging in blaster battles and starship fire fights. Maybe someone should explain to the writers what Generals are!
We have a punk rock girl, who looks to be 16 but is a war hero, a jedi, and a mandalorian. She's a character with the weight of the world on her shoulders. She is built tough as it gets, even after being run through with a light saber, she laces up her boots, chop her hair for the new age look, and went straight back to work. Usually this will take a few episodes to hit a character's arc, she accomplished in one.
Stevenson's apprentice, acting just as worse. The light saber battle between her and the punk rock kid was boring and flat. The choreography was elementary at best.
I found this rather boring, both episodes. The amount of worthless dialog made it dry as it can get. The people that posted about drawn out moments are not lying! It makes you cringe the way they interact with each other. Then that staring off into the sunset moment with every conversation will drive you mad.
The late Ray Steveson, credit to him, though his parts are limited.
House of the Dragon: The Heirs of the Dragon (2022)
Solid start!
Nice start to an opening series. Definitely had my attention from the beginning to the end. Remember, this is a marathon, not a sprint. This episode laid down a great foundation for episodes to come.
Prey (2022)
The axe and rope made it comical!
Lost interest as soon as I seen the axe and rope! Yes, it's a sci-fi film but in order for the Predator to install fear to its audience, we have to feel like a real to life situation. When I seen the little girl create a futuristic axe and rope weapon I lost interest immediately. This axe has unlimited range and hits with deadly accuracy everytime she wields it. This weapons puts the the gun and bow to shame and makes me wonder why were bullets and arrows were ever invented.
Just out of curiosity, why in the opening of the movie did she wake up with war paint on? Was that to sell the audience that she is an ultimate warrior in her tribe. Let the movie tell the story!
P. S. If this movie is as good as some say it is, why didn't it take a shot at the box office? Better yet, make a sequel and put it on the silver screen and watch it flop like a fish out of water!
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Part VI (2022)
The duel is all this series is worth!
We suffered all these episodes just to see the final battle that was well worth it. The episode is a 2, the battle between Vader and Kenobi was worth the suffering.
The Walking Dead: Warlords (2022)
Great talent creates great episodes...
I have been a harsh critic for the Walking Dead since the 5th season because of talentless actors/actress they have been using.
But
Michael Biehn and Jason Butler Harner bought a new life to the walking dead this episode. This Episode might be labeled Warlord, but the way the Ex-CIA agent infratrated this compound, he is more scarier than any one warlord I have seen on the series.
The Walking Dead: The Lucky Ones (2022)
This is why things don't improve.....
I hate to hear how people who vote a "10" just to counter balance for the low ratings. Nothing will change and the people will still be forced to eat something they don't want or like. Do you people who like to counter balance, do the same thing when you stay at a hotel?...or lets say at restaurants?
NO! You don't.
You know why? It's because you don't want no one to experience what you had to live through in hope that the place you just went will improve after hearing the honest truth. This is the same with Movies and TV shows! If someone rates a show a "1" they are giving you an honest opinion with hope that the show will change course for the better of all. You all doing counter balance is only shielding these writers and directors from the harsh truth.
So think about it next time you want to rate with a counter balance!
Platoon (1986)
This is a solid war movie
From start to finish, this is the movie I watched as a kid and made me a patriot to my country. When I served, I could see and understand the atmosphere that soldiers faced.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
This Matrix feels like a Fairy tale...
The three previous Matrix, you could sense the fear the humans had when entering the Matrix or interactions with the machines. These new characters treated it like it was their neighborhood playground and had no worries of death. It was laughable!... I said characters because I actually don't even remember none of their names.
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (2021)
If this was not titled Resident Evil....
If this was not title Resident Evil, you would have no idea of what the heck is going on in this film. It's that empty and incomplete with very little substance. The acting is horrible and feels written for lack of character development, for example; every character has to introduce themselves by first and last name just so viewers know who they are. That's horrible!
Let's hope the Netflix Resident Evil series do better than this!
Four Hours at the Capitol (2021)
Great insight of the people on the ground!
Great documentary from the views of the people on the ground, no matter which political side you are on. Watching from home, as I did, you just see mobs of people vs the police. This tell the tale of what they experienced that day up close and in person.
The Walking Dead: Promises Broken (2021)
rocktronix-45010 Review Nailed it!
Everything this reviewer stated, makes me question the intelligence level of the reviewers that says: It's getting better, best episode every, OMG!, and greatest season ever and It's going in the right direction.
This show has really become hollow and lost it's compass of what The Walking Dead started off with. The first episode is an classic all by itself and none other can compare. That is what rates a "10", not this mess we have being viewing is these last 5 seasons.
The White Walkers in Game of Thrones have more of a zombie appeal than The Walking Dead at this point and that show is not even attempting to be a zombie show. Let that set in and think about it for a minute.
Survivor: A New Era (2021)
Last episode for me!
This season of survivor is clearly not for the fans, but aiming to please a certain few. And for that, I will not watch this season. Hopefully they will get back on track next season. See you then! ☹
The Walking Dead: On the Inside (2021)
People under the stairs!
This haunted house experience with people hiding in between wall was an epic Zombie fail! I was actually waiting to see one of these people to crawl across the ceiling like a exorcist movie. You really want people to believe that these people who live in a house in the middle of no where to survive a zombie apocalypse by living in the walls of a house? This is a joke and a shame to try and turn The Walking Dead into that type of horror show.
To all those who rate this episode a 10, let me ask you this; do you remember the first five seasons when you knew every characters name and they had purpose? This season, I don't even know half of the characters name and totally forgot about their story line because they are so bland.
I read the comic book series twice, and I love it, but I seriously don't know how the writers or directors took that and made this! CRYING SHAME!
9/11: One Day in America (2021)
Powerful and emotional
This is what makes us human. The stories of others risking it all to save each other in what was one of the most chaotic events the world has ever seen. These stories and videos will grip you today as they did that day!
The Walking Dead: Hunted (2021)
Marvel like screen play
We have guys in hockey and paintball mask with black eye protectors fighting in the middle of the night like they have super vision. They throw knives swift and precise move like phantoms without making any noise in the leaves that no one can see them till they are right up on them and they disappear like ghost.
Oh, the rest of the episode is about horses. I was just waiting to see a unicorn but they disappointed me on that.
Neagan is the only plus out of this episode. Morgan can only do so much with what they are giving him to work with.
Fresh, Fried and Crispy (2021)
It's obvious he don't eat vegetables
Get a show host that eat food for what the chef intended it to be. Throwing off certain ingredients kind of takes away the chef's effort in perfecting a dish.
Black Summer: The Plane (2021)
@nomis94 The headshot issue
Don't believe in all the things you see in movies. Hitting a moving target that's trying to kill you under pressure complicates things. The Walking Dead has everyone thinking a gun is simple as point and shoot and you never miss. Especially when most of these shooters are just regular citizens and lack any weapon training.
I'm glad Black Summer eliminated that factor which adds to the fear factor when dealing with the zombies and makes this show awesome.
Black Summer: Prelude (2021)
A true zombie apocalyptic episode
I'm loving this season. Second episode and it's already been a adrenaline rush that don't end!
Black Summer: The Cold (2021)
Cold, dark and gritty!
This is why I love this series. It gives you that feeling that you are actually part of the show. You can just feel the atmosphere as you are watching it!
Spiral: From the Book of Saw (2021)
Michael B Jordan is no longer the worst actor...
Every second Chris Rock was in this film, it made me cringe. Worse actor to put in a serious cop role. Compare him to Donnie Wahlberg in Saw and Donnie deserves an OSCAR for his performance.
A Quiet Place Part II (2020)
A bit all over the place.
I think this movie sequel would have benefited if it focused on either the prequel or the present day. The prequel scenes opened up beautifully and kind of make you want to see everything leading up to part one.
The present day added a to many moving pieces which left a lot unexplained and developed. It left you with more questions than answers.
Examples: Wife's dead corpse, the dock people, and the people on the island.
