Rana Naidu (2023)
Venkatesh Rocks, Telugu Audience Shocks
Rana Naidu is an engaging and enjoyable show with great performances. The remake of Ray Donovan TV series is well done with a tight and engaging screenplay, realistic direction, and fantastic cinematography. The music and intro BGM are also great. Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh Daggubati deliver outstanding performances in their roles, while other actors like Ashish Vidyarthi, Surveen Chawla, Sushant Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, Rajesh Jais, Priya Banerjee, Suchitra Pillai, Aftah Syed, Aditya Menon, Milind Pathak, and Gaurav Chopra also shine in their respective roles.
While the story is somewhat predictable and doesn't offer anything new, the writing is decent with some great dialogue, albeit with unnecessary abusive language and words that could have been avoided. The series is also too long, and some unnecessary scenes could have been trimmed. The show has a lot of sex scenes and abusive language, so it is not suitable to watch with restricted age group
The performance of the entire star cast is commendable, and the series holds your attention with great excitement till the 10th episode. The way the series has been written and shot is simply incredible and joyful. After a long time, I felt like I was watching something new and thoughtful. Rana Dagubatti and the entire star cast are truly stars.
However, in the past few months, I have observed that Netflix promotes abusive language, nudism, and anti-Hindu religion incidents in their series. The exposure to such adult content should be limited to a certain age where things can be handled well even if something goes wrong, not during schooling age. Despite this, Rana Naidu is a decent attempt, and if it returns for the next series, more focus on the story than on the family would do wonders.
Zwigato (2022)
A Heartfelt Depiction of a Delivery Boy's Life
Nandita Das' latest directorial venture, Zwigato, is a movie that tells the story of a man who becomes a delivery boy to make ends meet after losing his job during the pandemic. Kapil Sharma's performance as the protagonist is remarkable, and he does an excellent job of portraying the struggles and hardships of a middle-class delivery boy.
The movie is a tribute to the working-class people who bear the burden of running our cities while dealing with an ongoing employment crisis, inflation, and social and gender justice. It is a silent recognition and request to respect and empathize with an invisible class of workers.
Shahana Goswami's portrayal of the silent support that women provide as equal pillars of a simple family is noteworthy, adding a layer of subtlety to the movie's message. The film is slow-paced, but it is in those slow mundane moments that we see how a working-class person battles and parallelly lives with complicated overarching issues of religion, class, and caste.
Zwigato is a movie that dwells on the positive side of contemporary cinema, and the performances by the cast are exceptional. Kapil Sharma's performance is praiseworthy, and it is entirely different from his typical persona as a comedian. The emotions that he portrays are authentic and will leave a lasting impression on the viewer.
The beauty of this movie lies in its cinematography. The frames are raw in nature and showcase a realistic depiction of a delivery boy's life. The background music is melodic and could have been used more significantly.
However, the screenplay is the real culprit that cuts the score of the movie. It does not seem like a long story but many anecdotes joint together to serve an episodic type of content. Nevertheless, the subtle humor that is spread in these joints contributes the most in saving the flaws.
Overall, Zwigato is an emotional movie that touches the heart and soul of the viewer. It is a message in itself and will make the viewers realize how often they are rude and inhumane with these delivery persons who work hard but do not earn much. It is a must-watch for those who want to understand the life of a delivery boy and respect them for their hard work. I would rate this movie 7 out of 10, and I recommend it to everyone.
Kabzaa (2023)
lacks the emotional resonance of a true blockbuster
Kabzaa is a gangster drama set in the 1980s in Bengaluru, which follows the life of the protagonist, Raja Narasimha, played by Upendra. The movie explores the murky world of crime, politics, and power, as Raja rises from being a small-time crook to the most powerful and feared gangster in the city.
While the story itself is not groundbreaking, Kabzaa does have some standout moments that make it worth watching. The first half is engaging and sets the stage for what could have been a thrilling ride. However, the second half falls flat, with predictable plot twists and a weak climax.
Despite the flaws in the plot, the performances by the cast are commendable. Upendra delivers a powerful performance as Raja Narasimha, a character who is both ruthless and charming. Jagapathi Babu also shines as the corrupt politician who manipulates Raja to further his own agenda.
The music by Ravi Basrur adds to the overall gritty and edgy feel of the film. However, the background score is too loud in places, taking away from the impact of the scenes.
The cinematography by Karunakar is impressive, capturing the essence of the 1980s Bengaluru. The action sequences, while not particularly innovative, are well choreographed and add to the overall visual appeal of the movie.
While Kabzaa does have its moments, the film ultimately falls short in delivering a satisfying experience. It feels like a missed opportunity to create a memorable gangster epic. Nonetheless, it's worth a watch for the performances and the nostalgic trip to the Bengaluru of the 80s.
In conclusion, Kabzaa is a decent effort that doesn't quite hit the mark. The movie has its ups and downs, but ultimately, it's the performances that keep it afloat. Despite the flaws, Kabzaa is a good one-time watch for fans of the gangster genre. Though, it's not a movie that will leave a lasting impression on you. So, if you're looking for a decently made gangster drama with some memorable moments, give Kabzaa a shot. But, be prepared for a bit of a bumpy ride.
The Last of Us (2023)
"The Last of Us" HBO Show Delivers a Gripping and Emotional Adaptation
The Last of Us is a highly anticipated HBO series based on the hit video game of the same name. The showrunners, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, have promised to stay true to the game's storyline and characters while also adding new elements to keep fans excited.
After watching the first few episodes, it's clear that they've succeeded in their mission. The show's pacing is spot on, with each episode leaving the audience on the edge of their seats, eagerly waiting for the next one.
The acting is top-notch, with Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey perfectly embodying the roles of Joel and Ellie, respectively. The chemistry between the two is palpable, and their interactions are both heartwarming and heartbreaking.
The show also doesn't shy away from the brutality of the post-apocalyptic world, with scenes that are both violent and emotionally raw. But amidst the darkness, there are moments of hope and humanity that make the show all the more compelling.
As a fan of the game, I was initially worried about how the show would handle certain aspects, but I'm happy to say that they've nailed it. From the infected to the locations, everything feels authentic to the game's world.
One small complaint is that some of the dialogue can feel a bit clunky at times, but it's a minor issue in an otherwise fantastic show.
Overall, The Last of Us HBO series is a must-watch for fans of the game and anyone who loves well-crafted storytelling. It's an emotional rollercoaster that will leave you both satisfied and eagerly anticipating what's to come. Just make sure you have some tissues on hand for the tear-jerking moments.
And for those who haven't played the game, don't worry, you won't feel lost. The show does an excellent job of introducing the world and characters in a way that is accessible to everyone.
In conclusion, The Last of Us is a triumph that proves video game adaptations can be done right. It's a show that will make you laugh, cry, and everything in between. It's so good that it might just make you forget about that terrible Super Mario Bros movie from the '90s.
Black Adam (2022)
DC and WB strike again with underdeveloped script.
Black Adam has a great concept and a strong performance by Dwayne Johnson in the titular role, but ultimately falls short in execution. While the film has some good action sequences and visual effects, the plot is underdeveloped and the pacing is uneven.
One of the film's strengths is Johnson's portrayal of Black Adam, which is both intimidating and sympathetic. However, the supporting cast doesn't get much to do, with characters feeling underwritten and lacking in depth.
Another issue is the film's use of humor, which at times feels forced and detracts from the serious tone of the story. The script also fails to fully explore the themes of power and morality, leaving the audience wanting more.
The film also suffers from a lack of focus, with the story jumping between different time periods and characters without fully exploring any of them. This haphazard approach ultimately leads to a disjointed narrative that is difficult to follow.
Furthermore, the absence of any meaningful connection to the Shazam franchise is a glaring oversight. While Black Adam is a compelling character, the film fails to acknowledge the crucial role that Shazam plays in his story. This lack of continuity may leave fans of the franchise feeling disappointed and confused.
Overall, Black Adam is an entertaining superhero film that will likely appeal to fans of the genre, but it doesn't quite live up to its potential.
Dasara (2023)
A Mass Masala Movie with Flaws, but Nani Shines!
Nani and Keerthi deliver top-notch acting in this violent yet thrilling movie that will leave you on the edge of your seat. The first half is excellent, but the slow narration and predictable second half might be a letdown for some. The cinematography and songs are outstanding, while the technicalities and screenplay make it a must-watch.
However, the excessive violence and abusive language, along with some unnecessary melodrama, might not be suitable for some audience. Despite its flaws, Dasara is definitely worth watching once, especially for Nani's performance. The dark room simulation ambience adds to the film's suspense, but some might find it overwhelming.
In summary, Dasara is a mass masala movie that showcases Nani and Keerthi's exceptional performances, accompanied by Santhosh Narayanan's music and bgm.
One thing is very clear Tollywood needs more and better BGM composers. Tollywood is really lagging behind in this area.
Overall, Dasara has its flaws but is still a decent mass masala movie that's worth watching for Nani's performance and some well-executed action sequences.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023)
"Why the Size-Shifting Hero Struggles to Be Taken Seriously"
As a loyal MCU fan, I was stoked to see Scott Lang and the gang back in action but wait there's no gang in the movie its all Family. Dont worry wasnt that bad for a shift.
Also this movie fell short, like really short - like ant-sized short. The only thing quantum about this movie was the microscopic amount of entertainment value it provided.
I mean, the comedy was as lackluster as an ant trying to lift a crumb. And the music? It was so forgettable that I think I forgot it before the opening credits ended. Did they ask an ant to compose the soundtrack?
And let's not forget about the trailer promising action-packed thrills, only for the movie to be as exciting as watching an ant farm. The only thing that grew in this movie was my disappointment in not getting the serious, action-packed film that drew me into the Marvel universe.
The second half tries to pick up the pace, but it's too little too late. The villain was as flat as an ant pancake, and the special effects couldn't even impress an ant colony.
Overall, Antman Quantumania had its moments, but they were as few and far between as an ant in a football stadium. Marvel, please stop shrinking our hopes and dreams and start delivering the kind of epic adventures we know you're capable of.
The Ghost (2022)
John Wick + Man on Fire + Lazy Direction
Nagarjuna's The Ghost movie is just ok with too much buildup for nothing and little bit John Wick Vibes with Man of Fire template.
BGM 🔥 with unnecessary songs
& Nag looks could have been far better, No complaints but looks weak and disinterested
Actress part was limited to certain section but still better than many films, Nag was not so good im not sure he was settling with easy scenes and execution. I see the scale imagined was really great, shooting across 5 countries one would imagine high stakes and scenes but all scenes are just ordinary.
Director/Writer should have worked together to bring some freshness in script and scenes. This movie lacks wow moment for such a Badass Title.

Beast (2022)
Vijay should have said no to Nelson.
Vijay makes 300crores box office movies every year with ease and this may also become one of those following the success of Master but overall for fans and as a movie it's a letdown.
Movie lacks Drama, Plot, Purpose and A Good Ending.
With the trailer it was very clear that 70-80% movie is going to be in Mall setting only. Nothing wrong Die Hard and Speed have done it in restricted setting but this movie had no drama and story spine to elevate audience interest to what's coming next.
Whole movie is a treat for Anirudh fans and slow mo lovers.
Cinematography is by far the best for 2022
Really happy to see the jet scene and CGI was spot on.
Very much like Ironman scene.
Went for morning first show
Paid 4x times
Took a leave from work
Convinced myself that this is going to be good
& returned home disappointed.
Also need to mention few things
East Cost mall aerial shots were terrible (Probably shot on low end drones and hardly colour corrected/matched)
Opening was great
Wish the whole movie was about SPY living in POK and rescuing them as a normal Pakistani Localite against ISIS or ISS if they are afraid to take names.
Chemistry between Both leads was pointless.
Villain was hardly used to his potential just masked entire time like he's hardly given them any dates for shooting.
Even the mask was a joke nothing to remember.
Skating Fight was poorly choreographed and casting was poor too
Altaf was bad, Umar was a joke, Comedians were used anywhere and anytime.
Highlights
Jet CGI
POK Scenes
Songs
BGM & Vijay Performance.

Space Force (2020)
Too much Drama Too much Science ruins Comedy.
I rate this show 6/10
Needs lot of work !!! Still need to establish characters properly and most importantly they need to decide on what genre they are planning it to take !!!
Comedy should be on top
I felt drama, Sci Fiction part covered lot of unwanted area.
Joker (2019)
Effortless Direction and Acting, Great Freedom of Space and Characterization by Warner Bros.
Joker Review
I must admit I am not a fan of Joker in DC especially because he makes me feel Batman is worthless sometimes and also he has achieved so much focus in DC over other Villians being a mortal human.
The movie tries very hard to look like Old Hits like after a decade or 2 many would put this in the category of 80s making it look like one of the first origin stories of Joker which I am happy with considering Joker needed his own origin. Its a very self centric movie I feel not even a single character as got a close to be a supporting character here. It was all Joker everyone had 10 to 20 percent of Share even somebody like Robert De Niro.
This film also focuses on the present situation of America like the fall of health care services and easy availability of Guns. Its a good news for every DC fan because this movie clearly tells WB wants to allow filmmakers to go out of character in the process of storytelling. After watching all the darkness of DC this Depressing movie felt more enlighten than other due to its beautiful pace and simple narrative structure.
Tod is a very good director and even if wants to stop the story of Arthur here itself i do not have any complains but I request him and WB collaborate for more projects in future may be all focused on DC Mortal Villians
Just mentioning few of them
Deadshot, Penguin, Poison Ivy
I Rate this movie 7/10
I am waiting for a screenplay book of this movie to publish so I can read someday with some Jazz played in the background.
The Office (2005)
Dont fall in love with Micheal Scott, He is fictional character He will leave you someday.
I started watching The Office (US) After completing all sitcoms and popular comedy series in US. I usually ignored it due to Modern Family Filming technique but i have to tell you it doesn't distract you like Modern Family, The Office & Its Characters are pure gem.
I am writing this review after completing watching it 3 times( Season 1 to Season 7) Last two seasons are one time watch because it misses Micheal Scoot !!!
This series was criticised a lot by jobless feminists for being sexist but they could never understand the characterisation.
I recommend this to everyone whose currently living alone and chats with nobody before sleep. its beautiful. obviously your favourite characters will be M. Scoot
He is written for that reason but do not ignore others especially Dwight
He is a lovable person.
