Grants start is amazing. The monologue looks promising, the dark hair girl looks witty, the blond one naive, it all goes well into direction of some unnatural proof of real beginnings of The Story about God and religion, but the director loses the sharp storytelling and stumbles on story about psycho. This movie had so much potential to dive into REAL religion, but fails. Last 25 minutes loose the initial philosophical but creepy approach. I thought Grant will become sort of a devil or something. Too bad director didn't use this opportunity and dive even deeper. Ending makes movie just above mediocre. Why above? Grants monologue truly starts well and his vibe is amazing, proving that he truly is an actor of real quality. Sadly the potential is not used well.
Ratings is bit harsh on this one. This is an interesting mix of Thor, X-Men, and Hitch with a bit of Russian style on top of it, making it enjoyable and fun film. The CGI is actually quite fun, while action scenes are aggressive, dynamic and draw your attention. Main character is typical badass guy with heart in the right place. Crow does a good job, and this was not something that would be hard for him. Other did good job too. This type of movies don't demand high acting skills, but you do need some swag to pull it off. So, enjoy this with lots of popcorn and cola, don't overthink. Movie leaves material for sequels, so we will see them, I'm sure.
This movie is great. Cast is perfect and story twists and turns also keep you engaged. Personally I can relate to few situations too. Nothing makes man workout more than a broken heart. And after that, you keep proving yourself something, but deep down inside you are searching for a girl that will ask you something about you, smile with you, and love you. There is something so real about this movie, tho situations are exaggerated but they prove an exact point in each and every moment. This is type of romantic comedy I actually like and everyone this fantastic job in their role. For me, this movie was a retrospective 15 years bacn in few moments (all the act while single), but the part "ask me something about me" got me thinking - man do I understand this moment. Great comedy, a lot of fun, perfect cast.
