Misogynistic abuse
After 23 mins of listening to the male characters verbally abuse the female protagonist I switched off. The point about her being a woman on a plane and how poorly they thought of her was made after the first few minutes. I can only assume the other 20 minutes was for the audience pleasure? I can't imagine this was enjoyable for anyone. No doubt I won't have missed much as I assume that she wins them over and proves her ' worth'. In true American movie style everything is forgivable apparently so I'm sure she will think they are good ol' boys by the end of the film. Read the script next time Chloe.
Riot Girls (2019)
Kids movie with excessive violence
The trailer says 'two girls', actually played by nearly 30 year olds. Don't you have child actors in America? Weird
It's ok, no surprises other than the unexpected violence. I'm not complaining it just felt out of sync with the movie style.
Anyway on to my bigger complaint... boy tries to kiss girl who the movie has not explicitly said is gay but there are heavy overtones.. she backs away and says, 'no, I'm..' then he says, 'I know'. She goes outside and kisses the other main girl. No if 'he knew' why did he make the move. Why are we still making movies where lesbians are 'accessible' to men. It's 2021! Stop being so fragile.
Thumper (2017)
Tension
I enjoyed this, good tension throughout. Some good acting performances from Taylor, Schreiber and Webber. Headey was good as usual but the part was so limiting it didn't really give her a chance to show us her best. Would have liked a bit more from the ending.
Palmer (2021)
Refreshing
Nice for a movie to be challenging toxic masculinity in a realistic scenario/real life, rather than an overly preachy story line. Enjoyable story.
Two Weeks to Live (2020)
Good fun
Maisie was great, good fight and gun handling scenes. Some silly and good unwholesome fun. Sean Pertwee was good as usual, excellent cockney gangster. Great concept and look forward to another season if they do one. Only criticism was that the episodes were short and I wanted more!
