I wanted to watch Heels ever since it was originally announced because I've been a fan of Stephen Amell since Arrow and think he's a very talented actor. Because it is now on Netflix, I was able to watch the first 2 seasons (as of now Netflix has not renewed for a season 3) and I really enjoyed them. I'll get the few flaws I had out of the way first. The show needed more focus on the side plots if they are going to do them at all. In both seasons towards the end of each, they set up major events for certain characters, only to leave the conclusion of those events open by the end of the last episode and pick them back up next season. You can see why this would be a problem, seeing as how there currently is no season 3. If you set something up in a season, you should conclude it in that season, with the exception of teases/cliffhangers for the next season, but even only if a next season is guaranteed. I also think some of the characters are just less interesting, and the drama with those characters doesn't work for me. Other than that this show really impressed me. Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig are the obvious standouts and steal every scene they are in, especially together. The writing for their characters also seemed to be the strongest and made for really compelling and emotional scenes. As I said before, I am not a fan of wrestling, but as a viewer looking in on wrestling from the outside, I think this show does an excellent job making it open to everyone and easy to understand. I even thought it was cool, and really appreciated how right away they establish that it is fake and lean into the writing aspect of the sport. Overall I think this is a good show with mostly good writing, acting, production, and drama. If a season 3 does happen, I will be checking it out.
Bloom Into You was a romance anime that was on the more mature side with its story and characters, and that made it stand out to me in a good way. My favorite part about the show was the dynamic between the two main characters. As I said they are very mature, and because of that they manage to avoid many of the tropes you'd see in other romance animes. The characters do have flaws, but I attributed that to the fact that they are still young. The side characters aren't entirely memorable after the fact, but are sufficient. I also really liked the art style, and thought the intro and outro were really good as well. I would recommend this show to fans of romance animes.
Chidori RSC has many flaws, but I would say the good outweigh the bad. The humor in the beginning of the show was funny, but something was off with either the timing of the jokes or the delivery, because the jokes weren't landing like they should've been. I felt this was fixed in the later episodes, and it really helped the show out. Unlike another anime that I would argue has a lot of similarities, like My Dress Up Darling, this show wasn't all that relatable to me like that show was, which holds Chidori RSC back a bit. Regardless, what is there still works, just not as well as they could have. The characters are fun and diverse, just not all that developed, not that they needed to be though. I overall enjoyed this show and don't think you'd be wasting your time checking it out.
