Home Work (2021)
Hair issue?
Candis....pull your dang hair back. It dangles in front of your face....very impractical for remodeling....well, unless you really don't do the remodeling.
....and don't be so bossy. Doesn't have to be your way or the highway!!!
Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines (2021)
Chip....the hair!!!!
First: Chip....cut that mop called hair. You're an attractive man.....long hair makes you look silly and trying to hard to be cool
second: sorry, Chip, am on you this time. Your humor is silly, often times. Not sure who oversees that on set, but needs to rein you back.
Third: Love you , Jo, however sometimes you're TOO serious.... Lighten up a little.
Ghosts (2019)
Look forward to it
Every week i look forward to this show every week. I like the characters and their interplay with one another. I wish the "live" husband could see and talk with the ghosts. I have no critique....which for me is unusual!!
Superman & Lois (2021)
Less Dialogue
Simple critique....less dialogue between family members, neighbors, business owners, etc. Too much drama!! Not to mention "couple" issues. Geez...do we need to drag them on....both brothers.
The Magnificent Seven (2016)
Emma....
My only critique is with the Emma character. She's supposedly a pioneering woman...tough no-nonsense. But her dress says otherwise. Off the shoulder, low cut? Not the reality of the day at that time. If y'all wanted sexy keep it authentic...not contrived out of Hollywood!
Chicago P.D.: A Way Out (2021)
Jay...stop it
I am SO incredibly tired of Jay's moral conscience looming over everyone, especially Voight. Jay's like his brother on Chicago Med...gotta do the right thing and definitely lord it over everyone else. Writers...stop it.... Do the right thing, Jay, but don't sidearm others...bordering on being a bully!!
Chicago P.D.: Reform (2017)
Jay...the do-gooder
I am SO incredibly tired of Jay's moral conscience looming over everyone, especially Voight. Jay's like his brother on Chicago Med...gotta do the right thing and definitely lord it over everyone else. Writers...stop it....
Ordinary Joe (2021)
Tail Wagging Dog
This show, like so many others, is "female focused". Each Joe is faced with a woman's choice of some kind. The collective Joes are filled with decisions that are all about the gal in their life. Geez...how original is that storyline!
My other criticism is Joe the musician. He's not that great....has no charisma...can only play the guitar, and not that well...takes his cues from his new found son instead of professionals . Really?
Come on writers...wake up and read the critics. Writing needs to step it up.
Good Sam (2022)
Any doctoring going on?
Halfway through the show and still no doctoring....all we've seen is a female mamby-pamby doctor and ego driven Dad who is blinded by his own self-importance.
Lots of dialogue, emotion, naivety, blah, blah!
While i was never a huge Sophia Bush fan, but i did want her to have success with this show.
The show as a whole seems a repeat of all hospital shows. Romance among colleagues, minimal doctoring as the "side-show" of interpersonal relationships continue. Poor acting on top of it all... a mother who has no hospital responsibilities apart from her daughter....
Maybe this first episode is supposed to set the stage...but it didn't capture my interest.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (2014)
Jimmy's Lost it
As many years as I've watched The Tonight Show, I'm finding it less funny. The humor isn't cerebral...not that it was ever "smart" but at least i could see the effort. Now it's silly and stupid...no "guffaws" from me!!
Jimmy...please have guests on that we know well...not who you think we know. And make sure they are humorous....not just giggle and repeat what Jimmy's just said.
The only good thing about the show...The Roots!!
A Royal Christmas Engagement (2020)
Flat, flat and more flat
I thought I'd enjoy this movie more...but i didn't. It just fell flat to me... much like Paige's hair. Geez...don't these sets have better stylists?? Plus i didn't "feel" any chemistry between the stars. There needs to be that in order to have a believable story line. Finally, Paige needed to be less stumbly, stuttery and just plain un-executive like. I wouldn't have chosen her for my rep had i been the Boss.
Better writing and casting, guys...Please!!!
FBI: Most Wanted (2020)
Where's the family?
What happened to Talia's grandparents? I liked them plus they added to the cultural richness of the show. Let's send Talia off to boarding school (don't care for her character) ...
I'm not a screenwriter, but must Lacroix always be the one who "superbly" and "amazingly " talks the perp off the edge? He's not the end-all to psychotherapy.
A Clüsterfünke Christmas (2021)
Not silly enough
I guess I'm just not silly enough to have embraced this show. Im not a Hallmark movie fan and was really looking for a parody of those movies; and granted there were pieces (small) that achieved that purpose. But the dialogue between the inn owners went on too long as did the montages. My fav scene was the "gay" guy ....! It didn't parody any Hallmark scene, but was funny. I think this show will appeal to an audience that revels in the new SNL or Dumb/Dumber movies.
Building Off the Grid (2014)
...just came back from the beauty salon...
Oh my! First, I'm amazed with folk who attempt building off the grid and truly don't think through the details of the process. Second, why do the wives all have their full face make up on, hair swinging down voluptuously....; no dirt...? I guess their concern is more the camera and TV than the build! Silly females!! So i guess the show is more fake than it'll admit to!!
The Voice (2011)
Separate shows for groups
While i liked "A Girl Named Tom", i was a Wendy fan all the way! I truly think that groups need to be in their own category...even duets... maybe being on their own show. As far as the repertoire between the judges, I'm good with that. Ariana appeared out of her comfort zone. She got better toward the end of the season. ...still think of her as the donut licker. Keep Blake and Kelly...ditch the other two.
The Equalizer (2021)
Harry, Harry, Harry!
Love this series...the dynamics are great ! But the 'Harry' character!!! I know he's a geek, but he's just plain annoying. I'm tired of his whining....his incessant 'trying to be funny', but is not...trying to be his wife's protector...geez, she's a trained sniper, dude...and he's such a wimp. He hurts his wrist and boo-hoos over it. Though he didn't even go to the hospital. Man up, Harry!!!
Hollywood 911 (2016)
SO Dramatic
Oh my...can we be anymore dramatic? The folks who narrate this show CONTINUALLY reference to how frightened the 'victim' is.... Well, of course they are, but you don't have to ram it down our throats with your wide-eyed "fear" face.
Plus the Miley Cyrus piece. Geez, guys, she was not on either of the buses involved in the accident/fire. It's a local news story at best...not Reelz.
FBI: International (2021)
More Field Action...less Bedroom
I am so sick of the need for shows to have inner office relationship scenarios. I know it happens, but I'm watching FBI International for the FBI scenarios beyond the bedroom....please!!!
Mystic Pizza (1988)
Unimpressed
I'm a chick who wasn't impressed with this chick movie. It was vapid, overacted, and in so many places silly. We never find out what the "mystic" ingredient is in the pizza. So, why the title? It was sweet to
see these actresses in their youth, but their acting inexperience ...even JR... showed through. Better chick movies out there.
The Guilty (2021)
Unhinged
Jake does a great job portraying this distraught, frustrated cop. Jake's character is definitely not someone who should be manning 911 calls. His emotional state is fragile...his co-worker interpersonal skills are awful. He never seeks other operators' help...actually he's an frustration to them. It's almost as though he's a glory seeker. It made me very unsympathetic, especially when he ignores other 911 calls...however insignificant they appear to be. He definitely needs to be removed from the force...for his own safety and the public.
Blinded by the Light (2019)
Slow Moving
Great plot and great appreciation for a young man trying to find himself and his path in this world.
However, there are parts that frankly move TOO slow.
I don't need 45 seconds to stare at his mournful, confused eyes.
Plus, his conversation, his words become substituted by The Boss....where's this young man's voice?
Originality...please!!
Dino Hunters (2020)
Hello non ranchers
If you've never owned and run a ranch...fed/bred/ replaced cattle...subsisted on the land and from
the land, then you'll have no
idea of the huge expense. If on your own property you
find a source of income...go for it. If i found oil, gold, gemstones, etc...i would not hesitate looking for a source who'd buy. How authentic this show is...I have no idea. Time will tell.
Outlander (2014)
Do no harm....
I find it fascinating that Claire's interpretation of the Hippocratic is SO wrong. She refuses to defend herself SO many times as she says ..."do no harm". I'm a physician, took the oath and know it well. There's no "do no harm " listed. I do think that the storyline is designed to tug at our heartstrings for Claire. I get that, but full-disclosure here....let's be honest. It's also a ploy to put Claire on a higher plain than the rest of us. "She's so good...so honorable...blah, blah.
Let's get real guys and gals....no color coating.
Homestead Rescue (2016)
Drama....oh my!
I truly like The Raneys...and having lived in Alaska, I get them...plus their off-grid philosophy. However...the drama as a part of every episode is silly. From the "I'm not sure if this homestead can be saved..." to "oh Dad...that tree almost fell on you, I was so scared!" Please...contrived...so contrived.
Some of their "off-grid" folks are frustrating to me. They call on the Raneys to help...then either resist the help or whine about the changes taking place. Such babies!!
Overall, I enjoy the show...Matt is my fav...such a kind-hearted man. Misty is lovely and such a garden knowledgeable gal. Dad is dad...big ego, but sense of humor and a love for what he does.
Celebrity IOU (2020)
Boring!
I truly love that celebrities want to "give back" to someone who means a great deal to them. But, the "Brothers" turn it into an opportunity to highlight themselves....blah, blah! Their desire to be actors is SO apparent while they constantly and consistently applaud themselves and their accomplishments. Guys, PLEASE stop the "it's all about us" dialogue ...it's old and boring!!!
