Why have you introduced a digital subscription service?

At the Irish Examiner, we are committed to expanding our premium content, introducing new features and investing in technology. We are introducing a new digital subscription service to allow us to deliver on this commitment - ensuring that we give our customers the best experience and more choice on how to consume our content, across the newspaper and on digital devices.

What are the types of subscriptions you offer?

There are three different subscription packages to choose from, so customers can pick the one that best suits their needs. There is a digital-only package, and two bundle packages that include delivery of the printed newspaper on your preferred day - Weekend and Complete.

Digital Package. Provides you with unlimited digital access to irishexaminer.com and access to the Irish Examiner apps and the ePaper across all devices. The ePaper is a digital replica of the printed newspaper. The digital package also includes exclusive subscriber content and live streaming of events and matches.
Weekend Bundle. Provides you with everything included in the digital package and the Saturday newspaper will be delivered to your home or office.
Complete Bundle. Provides you with everything included in the digital package and a daily delivery of the newspaper to your home or office. Monday to Saturday inclusive.

Newspaper delivery is currently subject to home delivery routes. To see our current subscription packages, please click here.

We’re sorry you’re thinking about cancelling - find out how to cancel your subscription below.

How to Cancel
You can cancel your subscription:
By phone: Call our Customer Care team on +353 (21) 206 3300.
By email: subscriptions@examiner.ie

Digital-Only Subscriptions
If you are a subscriber to our Digital package, and your subscription doesn’t include newspaper deliveries, your subscription will start immediately upon placing your order. After this point, you may notify us of your intention to cancel at any time, but the cancellation will only take effect at the end of your current subscription period. You are not entitled to a refund if you change your mind after your subscription has started. You will continue to have the same access and benefits of your product for the remainder of your current billing period.

Bundled Subscriptions
If you are a subscriber to our Weekend Bundle, Complete Bundle, or if your subscription includes newspaper deliveries (with or without digital access), then you have the right to cancel your subscription within a 14 day period from the day on which you receive your first newspaper delivery - without giving any reason. If you cancel your subscription within this period, we will refund all payments received from you, less a prorated amount for any newspapers you received before cancelling. After this 14 day period has expired, you may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting our Customer Care team by email: subscriptions@examiner.ie or phone: +353 21 2063300. However, the cancellation will only take effect at the end of your current subscription term and you will not receive a refund for the current billing cycle. You will continue to have the same access and benefits of your product for the remainder of the current billing period.

Effects of cancellation
If you are entitled to a refund, we will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction.

Can I purchase a subscription through the News App?

It is currently not possible to purchase a subscription through the Irish Examiner News App. If you would like to become a subscriber, you will need to visit irishexaminer.com. As an existing subscriber you can sign in to enjoy unlimited access to all content. You can enjoy the same access on irishexaminer.com and our daily ePaper - a digital replica of the printed newspaper.

My payment hasn’t been authorised. Why is this?

When paying by credit card, we check with our payment processor that the card number, CVV number (on the back of your card), name and address match the details that your card issuing bank has. On some occasions we are told that the card details are not correct or the card is not valid, which will result in a failed payment authorisation. If this happens, firstly please check that you have entered your card details correctly.

If the problem persists, you will need to contact your bank for an explanation as to why your card is not being authorised.

I’ve received an email to tell me my payment has been declined. What should I do?

It’s likely that we’ve tried to renew your subscription, but we’ve been unable to take the payment using the details we have on file. It could be that the expiry date on your card has expired.

To check and/or update your payment details, sign into your MyAccount portal and select the ‘My Account’ tab. You will be able to edit your payment details by choosing the ‘Update my payment details’ option.

Once you have updated your details, we will try to process the payment for your subscription again.

How do I pause my newspaper delivery?

You can temporarily pause your newspaper delivery as many times as you like. The maximum duration of a pause is 120 days.

Please visit MyAccount to submit your request to pause your delivery. You will need your email address and password to log into your account. Once you have paused a delivery, the amount will be credited from your renewal monthly/annual payment.

Please note: We need a minimum of two working days to pause a delivery due to our printing schedules. For example: to pause your delivery on a Monday, this would have to be done before 11am the previous Friday.

For any additional queries, please contact our Customer Care team who would be happy to help: subscriptions@examiner.ie or 021 206 3300
