This summer, BETA was thrilled to sponsor a tee hole at the Fidelity Cares Annual Charity Golf Tournament, with proceeds benefiting the Amos House and the many programs and services they provide to Rhode Islanders experiencing homelessness or other crises. Amos House is a lifeline for thousands of people who are working towards a better and more stable future. In addition to operating the largest soup kitchen in the state, Amos House also offers a continuum of housing, provides job training and education programs, and offers resources such as financial literacy and substance use disorder recovery. The Reconnecting Communities Pilot (RCP) Program FY24 NOFO is live! Applications are open until September 30th, and grants are available for both community planning and capitol construction. The RCP Program focuses on improving access to the institutions we use daily, including places of employment and healthcare, educational facilities, grocery and other food establishments, and parks and recreational amenities. The program heavily focuses on fostering equitable development and restoration, with funds typically awarded to disadvantaged communities. Up to $607 million is available through FY 2026. We had an awesome time at Hartford's National Night Out at Keney Park! This annual event brings police and community members together to build stronger relationships and foster safer neighborhoods. BETA joined the City of Hartford and Friends of Keney Park to celebrate community collaboration and kick off the Keney Park Master Plan. The plan aims to enhance park facilities, create new recreational spaces, and ensure sustainability for future generations. Community involvement is crucial, and we were grateful to gather some feedback from locals at the event. Together, we look forward to building a safer, more vibrant Keney Park! #NationalNightOut #MasterPlan

BETA’s Giving Back Committee recently hosted a back-to-school backpack and supply drive to support the Refugee Dream Center, a local organization based in Providence, RI. Our generous employee-owners have been collecting donations that will ensure the Center’s school-aged refugee community members are fully equipped for the upcoming school year. Thanks to all for your support and for making this back-to-school season special for these kids!

In July, the BETA team attended the ribbon-cutting for the Bristol Landfill Solar Project in Bristol, RI. As the Town’s environmental consultant for landfill-related services for the past 25 years, BETA was retained by developer NuGen Capital Management to conduct an engineering and feasibility analysis and permitting for the construction of the solar array. Now the state’s largest closed landfill solar site, the Bristol Landfill Solar Project will generate enough energy to power over 700 homes and businesses. We’re grateful to contribute to this meaningful project that moves Rhode Island one step closer towards our state objective of achieving 100 percent renewable electricity by 2033. https://lnkd.in/epRBFdxG

Celebrated annually in early August, National PE Day is dedicated to recognizing licensed professional engineers and emphasizing their critical role in ensuring public health, safety, and well-being. BETA is thrilled to announce that we've been selected to design public amenities adjacent to the Tidewater Landing soccer stadium development in Pawtucket!  Having deep roots in the City and a long-standing commitment to enhancing its infrastructure, we began work on the master plan for this project back in 2015. The bridge is set to become a vital connection for pedestrians, fostering greater accessibility and enjoyment of the beautiful riverfront area.
