Thinking about possibilities and believing in young people. Education Leadership, Student Learning, Innovation, and Dreaming and Creating. International Connections and Community Building.
The drive to Liceo International takes me from my home office in the valley of Tumbaco to Quito, where I have the chance to visit a school at a critical moment of institutional redefinition. This school, known for its strong academic reputation, is now ready to reflect and realize that learning — and the experiences of children and adolescents — are significantly different in 2023 than when the school was founded in 1980. We at Cognia are very pleased to be part of this transformation toward a focus on socio-emotional well-being and learner-centered activities. Cognia’s 30 research-based performance standards assist educators and leaders in rethinking who they are as a school community and how they work with young people. It was a rewarding day connecting with dedicated teachers, engaged learners, visionary leaders, and a supportive community. People working together and collaborating can create purposeful learning experiences, and Cognia provides the framework to accelerate and enhance this purpose. Thank you, Gwen Bloomsburg, MARY ROMERO, and Gabriela Ribadeneira, for advocating for young people. Andre Harrison Kelly Knipe Emily Fajardo Ioana Alexandra Rosu Andy Martinez Michael Bratcher, Ed.D.
