Today Rebecca A. Rudolph-Russell and I got to have some fun and step away from our desks at Electralloy to attend Women in Forging Lunch and Learn hosted by Forging Industry Association at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland, Ohio. Rebecca and I had such a great day learning about the history of women of Aviation and Space at the International Women's Air & Space Museum. We enjoyed an hour introduction done by IWASM Executive Director Sara Fisher. Followed by a guided tour done by IWASM Collections Manager Liz Konopka. I learned far more than history class ever talked about. Names like Amelia Earhart you have probably heard before but what about Bessie Coleman or Sally Ride? It is truly amazing learning that women internationally played a huge role during World War II. To end the event, Ann Over was our guest speaker. She is incredibly inspiring; her determination, kindness, passion and perseverance inspire me to aim higher. Ann is retired from NASA Glenn Research Center where she was Deputy Manager of European Space Agency Service Module for the Orion Project. The project was the most advanced spacecraft ever designed, carrying astronauts farther into space. Ann is now the President of AR NEXGEN, LLC. All money raised from this event supported the Forging Foundation's Women's Scholarship. Forging Industry Educational and Research Foundation On the way back to the car - Rebecca and I walked past the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and snapped some pictures. Enjoy 😊 Happy Monday! #FIERF #WIF
