We are honored to have been an integral part of this Atlas of Accountability by Rebuild by Design. Check out their Atlas to understand which communities in the United States have been impacted by extreme weather disasters. #disasterrecovery #emergencymanagement #disasterresponse #extremeweather #increasingdisasters #dataanalytics #atlasofaccountability
Today, Rebuild by Design launched the Atlas of Accountability, a brand new mapping tool that takes a county-by-county look at which communities have been impacted by designated extreme weather disasters. We found that: - 100% of states and 91% of congressional districts have had at least 1 federal disaster declaration. - of the districts with 10+ disasters, two-thirds are represented by Republicans and one-third by Democrats. Just as extreme weather shows no partisanship, neither did post-disaster aid: - Over $100B in federal funds were awarded to districts all across the country - The states that received the most funds per capita were both blue and red: LA, NY, NJ, ND, and VT As the #ClimateCrisis continues to pose threats to our country’s most vulnerable, we hope Atlas of Accountability is used by communities and lawmakers to develop #Bipartisan policy and to build resilient infrastructure that lasts for years to come. Learn more and explore the impacts in your district: bit.ly/3yjr2MV

Hurricane season starts tomorrow, June 1, and it's shaping up to be a long one. NOAA released their updated predictions last week, forecasting another above-average season. Their predictions, with 70% confidence, lead emergency managers to expect 17 to 25 total named storms, with 8 to 13 of them becoming hurricanes, and 4 to 7 becoming major hurricanes. We encourage our clients and colleagues across the Gulf and Atlantic Coasts to prepare now for the season with evacuation plans, supplies, and emergency kits ready to go. Follow along with our preparedness posts starting next week to understand what to do to be ready and safe. Read more about the predictions here: https://lnkd.in/gDzm_BaJ #emergencymanagement #preparedness #disasterrecovery #disasterresponse #hurricanes #hurricaneseason2024 #NOAA
