Our next online #AI course starts Monday 11/11. Reinforcement Learning is a powerful method for training software to make optimal decisions. This course provides a strong foundation in the main approaches and challenges in the field. 💠 Evaluate problem features to determine if RL is a good fit for specific applications. 💠 Develop and implement RL algorithms using techniques like Deep RL, policy-based methods, RL from human feedback (RLHF), and Direct Preference Optimization (DPO)—essential for creating powerful large language models. 💠 Uncover optimal strategies in unfamiliar environments through tabular methods like Markov decision processes (MDPs) and Monte Carlo techniques. I’m happy to share that I’ve completed my Professional Certificate in Artificial Intelligence - 1 Year Program at Stanford University School of Engineering. Completing Stanford University's Artificial Intelligence certificate program was a great experience that significantly enhanced my ability to apply cutting-edge AI and machine learning techniques to my filed of expertise. As a seasoned quantitative analyst and engineer, I have spent over a decade pioneering novel AI methods to tackle complex data challenges for global companies, startups, and investment and insurance firms. The program's rigorous curriculum, which included reinforcement learning, generative AI, deep neural networks, and large language models, provided me with the advanced skills necessary to drive innovation in my field of work. Despite the program not being specifically tailored to finance or insurance, I have effectively applied the concepts learned to develop AI-driven solutions for equity analysis and risk management. Stanford's renowned faculty delivered insightful lectures that made complex topics accessible, allowing students to integrate these advanced technologies into their work seamlessly. The hands-on coding assignments were particularly valuable, solidifying theoretical concepts through practical application. For professionals seeking to harness the power of AI in analytical fields, Stanford's AI certificate program is an invaluable investment that equips you with the knowledge and skills needed to stay at the forefront of industry innovation. https://lnkd.in/e89QtJeC

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 70th Anniversary Celebration of the Honors Cooperative Program (HCP), Stanford’s part-time, flexible master’s degree program. The evening began with a thought-provoking faculty panel on the future of #AI, followed by a mixer and a panel discussion led by Professor Thomas Kenny, where HCP alums Shoba Rao, Mike Kramer, and Ming Luo shared their experiences and career insights. We presented the inaugural James Gibbons Faculty Award to School of Engineering Dean Jennifer Widom, in recognition of her dedication to teaching students beyond the Stanford campus, and honored by Professor Emeritus James Gibbons’ and other distinguished leaders’ presence at the event. The night concluded with a beautiful reception under the stars, celebrating our HCP community and bright futures ahead. #StanfordHCP70 #StanfordReunion

🌿 As #COP16Colombia continues this week, representatives from the Natural Capital Project, part of the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, are in conversation about mainstreaming natural capital and use cases for decision making and investment.
Mary Ruckelshaus, Executive Director of the Natural Capital Project, is gathering with fellow leaders at #COP16Colombia to mainstream nature's values in development. NatCap is participating in a number of sessions aimed at highlighting where, and in what sectors, natural capital information is transforming policy and finance. Together, we can learn from decision makers the crucial barriers to implementation and how NatCap’s network can help overcome impediments to faster, more effective scaling of natural capital approaches. #COP16Colombia #PeaceWithNature

We talked with engineering managers worldwide about obstacles they’ve faced. What we learned? ✅ Communicating (especially to non-tech stakeholders) can be difficult ✅ It’s not enough to just have leadership responsibilities - you need to be seen as one too ✅ Having reports is one thing - keeping them motivated and engaged is another The Engineering Leadership Program was developed to address these concerns. With expert-led content and real-world prompts, you can become the trusted, influential leader you’re meant to be. The first 100 enrollees to the one-year program option get $400 off tuition.
