Hurricane Helene made landfall along Florida’s coastal bend as a powerful Category 4 storm before weakening to a tropical storm and continuing northward into Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. The storm brought severe flooding, strong winds, and widespread power outages, leaving many communities in dire need of assistance. In its wake, the 357th Engineer Company mobilized under the Immediate Response Authority to clear roads and restore vital infrastructure in Yancey County, North Carolina. Their dedication and swift action made a critical difference in the community's recovery. #HurricaneHelene #DisasterRelief #MakingADifference

Talking about bad things that could happen, like a disaster or emergency, isn’t always easy. We may think we’re protecting the people we love by avoiding these conversations, but they are important to start taking steps to get ready and stay safe. Starting a conversation today can help you and your family to take more action to prepare. By taking simple steps, you can build your preparedness at your own pace: ✅ Set aside a time when everyone is calm and relaxed. ✅ It may help to hold the discussions over a set time period so decisions aren’t rushed and people feel more comfortable discussing the topic. ✅ Talk about steps you’ve taken to prepare and encourage others to ask questions about preparedness actions that might work for them. His military dream had faded and forgotten by every day busy life until he spotted a fellow student in an Army uniform his first semester of college and was introduced to the #USArmyReserve. "Wherever I go, I can always connect with my Hispanic roots," said Banks. "It’s not the benefits or the accolades that keep me going it’s that sense of belonging, that feeling of home, that has fueled my desire to continue serving all these years." #BeAllYouCanBe

Soldiers are regularly trained on how to save lives on the battlefield in the middle of chaos and confusion. However, what happens when a life-or-death situation occurs not in a combat zone but in front of your house? Sgt. Carmen Laura Molina González's answer: "I quickly got in Army mode, ran back into the house, grabbed a military tourniquet that I had on my uniform, returned to the accident, and applied it to the gentleman's arm. The bleeding stopped until the ambulance arrived later," added the Soldier, who stayed at the scene until the patient was transferred to a hospital facility. #ArmyLife #CombatReady
