  • Delayed content production

    Issued US US 9134930 B2

A method for locating network resources includes determining a distance between a client device and each of a plurality of network resources. For each of the network resources, a subset of a plurality of location tags is selected. The subset for a given network resource is selected according to the distance between the client device and that network resource. The method also includes, for each of the network resources, causing a display by the client device, of values for the subset of location…

With the proliferation of mobile devices in the marketplace, print is now shifting from a function being done at home and in the office to the mobile world. In response to this evolving trend, St. Joseph Communications has developed the world’s first self-service public pay kiosk offering consumers the ability to print directly from their smartphones and tablets using PrinterOn mobile print technologies as well as HP eprint, direct email and USB. The ePRINTit™ Kiosk is a first-of-its kind, self-service mobile print centre that enables users to print documents directly from their mobile devices.
Inspired by evolving 4G LTE, St. Joseph – in partnership with HP – is leaping ahead with the newest innovation in mobile printing. 4G LTE (fourth generation 4G) offers the fastest transfer speeds for wireless communication of high-speed data for mobile phones and data terminals.
The Kiosk is enabled through the HP ePrint app (free from www.hp.com/go/eprintmobile) which provides access to the worldwide directory of 28,000 public print locations. Kiosks are now being installed at Airports and Universities as well as court houses.
The HP ePrint app was just named one of the “18 Top Mobile Productivity Apps” by Information Week.
The Kiosk is continuing its global tour, now being showcased at the Verizon Innovation Center in Waltham, MA, CES in Las Vegas 2013 with Verizon and NRF with HP in New York 2013. Verizon has opened its LTE Innovation Center in 2011 to help wide-ranging companies develop breakthrough non-traditional devices, services and applications that take full advantage of its 4G LTE network.
With the power of 4G LTE currently being rolled out across Canada, the Kiosk is expected to join the network this year, providing office-type speeds while on the go.
