We are currently adding several Assistant Stylists to our team on a temporary, seasonal basis. This position will be compensated through our payroll system. This is not a freelance opportunity, but is a full time temporary to permanent position.

Position Summary

This is a great entry level role for someone who is interested in exploring both the merchandise and creative tracks in the production / ecommerce space. The Assistant Stylist reports directly to the Style Director, but will also work very closely with the Art Directors, Freelance Stylists, Digital Techs, Merchandise Systems and Operations team.

The Assistant Stylist will have the opportunity to apprentice the styling team on set on an ongoing basis. In supporting the on-set team they will learn styling basics, client-specific styling guidelines, and engage with a wide range of creatives across all disciplines.

In this role, the Assistant Stylist will all handle aspects of apparel and accessories prop styling for a high-volume retailer, including inventory control, product tracking, and sample logistics. Organizationally, the Assistant Stylist will focus on prepping clothing for the set, locating props for stylist, tracking the tagged merchandise as it goes through the on-set process, including cross checking dates, naming, shot list, views and marking items for color corrects. They will keep up with the organization while ensuring that the styling speaks to the production and creative guidelines set forth by the client.

The Assistant Stylist will have excellent attention to detail, focusing on minute details of the job as they work with complex inventory management systems and specific on-set styling guidelines. A can-do attitude is a must, with a willingness to roll up sleeves and dive in. Strong ability to prioritize work flow and pivot between responsibilities as no two days will be alike.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Track merchandise through production and propping process using internal and/or external inventory systems
  • Perform quality control procedures to ensure merchandise and its data meet compliance standards
  • Act as a liaison between Styling and Merch teams to gather all relevant and necessary product information and to help resolve any creative issues
  • Partner with various members of the Merch Team as needed to facilitate the organization of a fashion prop closet
  • Keep track of styling supplies needed and re-order as necessary
  • Order, track and return store bought props for editorial shoots
  • Create PO’s for props and provide production with reconciled receipts for billing
  • Restock styling areas with robes, slippers and towels, return used items to front desk
  • Maintain high level or organization on set
  • Attend to model’s needs on set to facilitate shoot (ie: heaters, water etc)
  • Partner with producers and creative team to establish documentation for on-set styling guidelines
  • Implement and ensure accurate styling information to producers, stylists, and creative team members
  • Liaise between the Merchandising, Production and Style teams to disseminate information and maintain adherence to guidelines set forth by the client.
