About The Team And Role

Help us shape the future of the largest pure ecommerce marketplace. We’re looking for an energetic, passionate customer champion who will lead end-to-end experiences across our marketplace and be responsible for the P&L outcomes.

eBay Live is a new way to sell on eBay, where sellers and buyers interact live on video. eBay sellers build buyer trust, expand their customer base, and grow repeat business through consistent and engaging live streams on eBay Live. eBay buyers can view, chat, ask questions, give feedback, vote, and buy online during eBay Live selling. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a fast growing platform that could change not only how commerce is done on eBay but across the industry!

As the Director of eBay Live, you will be responsible for owning the growth and operations of the eBay Live business. You will articulate the strategy to address the highest priority opportunities for the customers and business and bring shared alignment across the organization. You and your team will closely partner with global product, marketing, monetization, policy and customer service teams to execute on strategic programs, set OKRs for initiatives and projects, and build processes to drive ground-breaking outcome for the Live platform. The successful candidate will be accountable for delivering the overall vision for the future of live commerce business strategy as well as driving day-to-day operations!

What You Will Accomplish

  • Develop the competitive value proposition for eBay Live to drive growth and transform the future of ecommerce
  • Build alignment around a vision that finds opportunities across programming, category, trust, go to market and experience and drive cross-functional alignment to bring them to life through strong execution
  • Define key performance indicators of the business and drive performance against owned P&L levers
  • Drive the eBay Live strategy through seller selection, onboarding and support; content programming; seller, viewer and buyer policies; and deep collaboration with the product team to ensure the customer is at the center of the strategy and user experience. Build hypothesis-based learning agenda across these areas to identify and scale playbooks
  • Build and drive a go to market strategy in conjunction with Marketing, PR, Ops and Legal teams.
  • Build meaningful strategic partnerships with GM’s across categories to enable a winning experience
  • Build a strong organization, drive strong associate engagement and lead all aspects of team’s performance on key metrics


What You Will Bring

  • BA/BS degree, with 10+ years of relevant ecommerce experience; media industry experience a plus. MBA or advanced degree a plus
  • Experience as a leader of an operational business or General Manager in an online marketplace, digital platform, or retail environment
  • Proven experience with defining strategy, aligning cross-functional teams to shared outcomes and delivering strategies from roadmap to delivery in a highly collaborative culture
  • Broad experience across operations, product, and marketing functions
  • Comfortable making decisions with imperfect information where you may have ambiguity and need to use data to meet results and drive initiatives to completion within specified timelines


The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$160,400 - $254,100

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
