Roblox’s Safety Operations team is dedicated to protecting our users and developers from individuals who want to harm other users and our platform, within the online environment and off-platform. The Critical Harms Intelligence, Investigations, and Operations (CHIIOPS) team applies subject-matter expertise to our highest-level risks, and works with cross-functional partners to identify and mitigate these actors.
Please note: This role may review graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive content in line with Roblox’s policies. This role will also require some on-call support.

You will report to the Critical Harms Intelligence, Investigations, and Operations Manager.
You Will
- Proactively identify and analyze financially harmful behaviors against the Roblox platform including fraud, misuse of our digital currency, Robux, improper sale of virtual items, scams, and gambling and betting behaviors.
- Perform investigations to better understand actors seeking to financially harm Roblox and its users, identify and analyze sophisticated user behavior driving this behavior, and support automation to scale mitigation of this content.
- Develop an internal network of collaborators with whom you will share analysis, capture insights, and propose and support broad company efforts to counter financial risks.
- Build a specialized enforcement team and workflow processes that rely on a deep understanding of financially harmful behavior to support investigations.
- Be an expert in Roblox's internal and external safety policies, be familiar with the tools we use to keep our users safe, and be able to make data-driven decisions on how to improve the company's overall escalation ecosystem.
- Occasionally lead incident response for high-complexity and high-brand risk financial harms incidents, serving as a focal point between operations and broader teams.
- 5+ years of experience analyzing online financial harm abuse behaviors, including financial harm risk evaluation, transaction analysis, fraud detection and/or investigation, and/or virtual currency risks.
- Demonstrated experience building relationships and working with law enforcement and/or other external partners on financial risks.
- Ability to exert leadership over your area of responsibility, prioritize urgent risks, build productive relationships with key Safety stakeholders, and demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Experience investigating and understanding how data and incentives differ between professional fraudsters and user abuse.
- Demonstrated experience proactively identifying financial harm risks by leveraging internal data with basic SQL querying and the ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
