Job Summary
Westat is seeking a Research Assistant with strong quantitative skills to contribute to education research and evaluation projects as well as technical assistance projects. This is a full-time, remote eligible position.
Job Responsibilities
Assisting with wide-ranging project activities including web survey testing, data collection, and report preparation.
Assisting with conducting descriptive and inferential analysis (e.g., multiple regression).
Assisting with background research (e.g., internet, literature).
Assisting with research applications.
Assisting with table preparation.
Creating data visualizations with Microsoft Excel or other tools.
Communicating results to collaborative project teams both verbally and in writing.
Basic Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences.
Experience performing data manipulation in variety of software (e.g., Microsoft Excel) and conducting statistical analyses with software/language packages such as R, STATA, SAS, or SPSS.
Experience with Microsoft Office products.
US Citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience creating data visualizations with Microsoft Excel or other tools.
Completed coursework in quantitative subjects such as statistics, economics, and/or mathematics.
Interest in education policy and programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated communication skills.
Collaboration with teams, managers and/or clients.
Organization skills, including time management ability.
Detail oriented.
