📚 Technology and Innovation for Purpose: Reflections from IMAGINE: Nonprofit 🏥 David and I were genuinely moved by the wonderful humans that shared their stories of leveraging technology and innovation to drive purposeful impact at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) IMAGINE: Nonprofit event. One story that resonated deeply with us (and so the whole room!) was Rebecca’s journey founding Library For All — an organisation transforming access to education in some of the world's most remote and challenging environments. Kirsten from Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service shared how co-designing with users leads to system easier adoption, improved user engagement and are significantly more efficient — improving workflows by up to 40% 🚀. Alison from Infoxchange stepped though her golden rules for successfully landing “big hairy transformations”, starting with quick wins and focusing on engagement of key stakeholders (I am fully aligned!). All the speakers were amazing and their work exemplifies how technology, when guided by purpose, can make an extraordinary difference. Hat tip to Gemma, Shawn, Troy, Bruce, Nidhi, Kim and the whole AWS team for pulling together such an inspiring line up of stories. #TechnologyForPurpose #Innovation #SocialImpact #DigitalTransformation #HumanCenteredDesign #HealthcareInnovation

#techforgood #tech4good is used to describe tech businesses which are centred around environmental or social goals. Too many incredible founders, leaders and their teams in my network doing amazing things in the tech for good space to list them all. Here’s a few to look out for: Alice Rackley, Cormac Stanford, Alexandra Birtles, Matt Halsey, Edd Stockwell, Ryan Kerstein I like to apply the learnings from these platforms to the notion of #productpositivity You don’t have to be a tech for good platform to actively make a positive impact on wellbeing, social mobility or nature. Whether you work in ecommerce, SaaS… you can choose to make product enhancements that bring out feelings of hope, belief or curiosity from your users. 😎Sharing positive sentiment ⏱️Giving up time to feed back 🍰Offering to encourage other users to join ✅Making personal commitments or pledges 🐝Choosing the lowest carbon option 🩺Monitoring their own well-being 🎓Learning something new All of this, without spending a marketing penny or loyalty point. It’s about designing products and features to be inherently positive, that make an impact. The impact you create will, more than likely, enhance user retention and growth. At Commonplace I get to play with all these toys. It makes for a more challenging product arena, but equally one that is vastly more rewarding. I’m excited that we’ll soon be lunching our first impact report. Our work isn’t all done by any stretch, but the report is a brilliant motivator for what’s to come.

Great read* on how McDonald's is building tech resiliency across a global and distributed org. Key takeaways for me: - You need an observability tool that is accessible (visibility cannot be capped, and the entry threshold for technical expertise is low, so business teams can collaborate too) - Scales with you (ability to support growing demand of your current use cases and it will allow to integrate new use cases as the business needs evolve and change) * Link to article on the comments. #McDonalds #Datadog

New Post: 31% of U.S. tech workers put in less than 40 hours per week - https://lnkd.in/g7jPqyTW - SPONSORED JOBS: While expensive cars or holidays to Europe might have been seen in the past as the ultimate barometers of career success, today work-life balance and an employer that facilitates well-being, both during and outside of working hours, is the ultimate goal. Passionate People and Business Transformation Leader | Technology Sales | Women in Tech | WIT | Digital Transformation
I've never been one to place much emphasis on special dates or to be particularly active on social media. That being said, I also haven't given much attention to International Women's Day in the past. However, recent personal events have prompted me to reconsider many things. One of those reflections has been on my role as a woman, mother, and professional. It has led me to ponder how often we underestimate and take for granted our own capabilities, potential, and strength. Over the past few months, I've had the privilege of participating in numerous insightful and inspiring conversations through WIT associations. I've had the opportunity to meet countless extraordinary women, each with their own unique backgrounds and stories that I cannot even start to think how to describe. What strikes me is that we all have stories, regardless of gender. Yet, one of the beauties of being a woman is our willingness to embrace vulnerability. We share our weaknesses, and from there, we can grow immensely. Through our experiences of pain and struggle, we cultivate empathy—a quality that is sorely lacking in many corporate environments - and still so crucial. This, I believe, is one of the most remarkable aspects of our uniqueness: we have the incredible ability to bring new life into this world, experience the profound transformation of motherhood, or encounter other significant events that shape our lives. We possess the resilience to reinvent ourselves repeatedly, to thrive professionally, deliver outstanding results, excel in our endeavors, and yet maintain our empathy. We continue to see others as fellow humans, with compassion and understanding. So, here's to all of us! We are truly awesome! Ps. Below is one of the incredible events hosted by The WIT Network that I had the privilege to participate in this week.
Do you struggle with #worklifebalance? Then don’t miss Julie Sanford’s keynote on March 6! Julie is the Vice President, Partner GTM, Programs & Operations, Global Partner Solutions at Microsoft.
