Founder @ Vitable Health (YC S20) | Thiel Fellow | Forbes 30u30

I’m excited to announce Vitable Health's $16M Series A led by Cherryrock Capital with participation from First Round Capital, Citi Impact Ventures, nvp, Commerce Ventures, Y Combinator, and other awesome angels! I met Stacy Brown-Philpot almost three years ago as she led our pre-seed coming out of YC with nearly no revenue or team. Fast-forward almost three years, and I'm thrilled to partner with Christa, Stacy, and Saydeah and be among the first investments from their new firm, Cherryrock! Our North Star at Vitable continues to be helping small business owners like my parents provide affordable healthcare to their blue-collar employees. Those employees that earn too much to qualify for Medicaid yet too little to afford adequate health insurance, leaving them among the 80 million uninsured or underinsured Americans. Today, we are proud to be making significant strides toward achieving our vision. With over 400 small businesses as clients (including my parents), we are helping more than 50,000 everyday employees access quality, delightful healthcare. Most importantly, we’re doing this with industry-leading clinical engagement, NPS, and gross margins. In a very real way, we're using technology to deliver high-quality care that people use and love - at a meaningfully lower cost. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has contributed to Vitable's growth: our team, existing investors, clients, members, and partners. Josh Kopelman, Vaughn Crowe, Allison Pickens, Matthew Brezina, Michael Seibel, Toyin Ajayi, Jack Altman, Daniel Folkman, Aaron Royston, M.D., Dan Rosen, Vivek Krishnamurthy, Christa Williams, Immad Akhund, Stu S., Paul Judge, Rose Ritts, Saydeah Howard (SPHR, SHRM-SCP), Malcolm Robinson, Ashley Mayer.

CEO, Fortune 100 Director, Investor, Advisor

We are thrilled to announce our Series A investment in Vitable Health! More than 90% of the businesses in the United States are considered small to medium sized. Joseph Kitonga and his team are building the future of benefit plans for SMBs and making quality virtual, onsite, and in-home primary healthcare available to millions of their hourly workers. With Vitable Health, these individuals and their families can access care when and where they need it for low cost or no cost at all and SMB owners can focus on building thriving workforces, businesses, and communities without the heavy burden of excessive healthcare costs to them or their employees. A Thiel Fellow, YCombinator graduate, and Kenyan immigrant who grew up in a family of small business entrepreneurs, we not only knew that Joseph uniquely understood the customer and end consumers Vitable serves but was also motivated to build a world-class company. We are proud to partner with Vitable Health on this journey leading the company's $16M Series A round with participation by nvp, First Round Capital, Citi Impact Fund, Y Combinator, and Commerce Ventures. Thank you Business Insider for sharing the Vitable Health story and congratulations to the entire Vitable team! Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/guB4RDVn
