#Texas-based #HarborHealth secures $95.5M in new #funding. General Catalyst leads this additional round of funding with strong participation by Alta Partners and continued support by 8VC. Total investment to date is more than $128 million. This additional funding will allow for continued #growth in providing primary care services, broadening the scope of #specialty care offerings, and #developing plan designs that support care journeys co-created by consumers and their clinicians. Harbor Health was founded by Dr. Clay Johnston, Eric Scott (from 8VC) and Tony Miller. The idea of #building Harbor was sparked by conversations Tony and Clay had as the leaders of their previous #organizations (Bind/Surest and University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical Center, respectively). This funding round also includes returning investors Health 2047 Capital Partners, Lemhi Ventures, Martin Ventures and a series of #individuals. Harbor Health , you’re a #person, not a patient. They all want to get and remain healthy, but the way things are done now doesn’t feel like we’re a part of the #solution. #NYC-based Ansel Health Inc. secures $20M in #funding. This round was led by Portage, with participation from Two Sigma Ventures, Brewer Lane Ventures, SixThirty Ventures, Plug and Play Ventures, Digitalis Ventures, Symphony AI, Operator Partners, Morgan Creek Capital Management, and several others. The new infusion of capital, which brings Ansel’s total raised to over $50M, will enable the company to continue to grow the availability of its modern supplemental #insurance solution to employees #nationwide as per reported by businesswire.com The investment comes on the heels of several important milestones for the company. It sometimes amazes me how the US seems to be a couple of steps ahead of the world when it comes to "trends" in venture investments and solutions for the health care system: 👉 With 20% of the US population receiving therapy sessions (Switzerland is at 8% - 10%) on a one-on-one basis, investments continue in telehealth solutions that support therapists and clients with "matching services" 💡 and "private insurance coverage" 💡... meanwhile in Switzerland: "Is mental health really a thing?" 🤔 "Should an insurance cover mental health interventions online?" 🤔 Yes it is and yes you should. From the article: Andreessen Horowitz and others invest up to $130M in Talkiatry. Sequoia and others invest up to $88M in Grow Therapy. Two Chairs picks up $72M in funding. While venture investing is not per se a sign of validation - and healthcare systems differ from country to country - it shows the demand these companies are able to cover, because without growth, these funds would not invest.
