We launched our first Graviton chip in 2018 to give customers the best value possible and more options for their compute needs, and today I’m excited to share that our 4th generation of Graviton is generally available. It’s the most powerful and energy efficient chip we’ve ever built. Since we first previewed it at re:Invent, we’ve already had great customer feedback with SAP seeing 25-40% performance increases and Epic Games saying it’s the fastest EC2 instance they have ever tested. Excited to mark a big milestone for AWS in Australia. We’re thrilled to begin a new partnership with the Australian Government to provide a Top Secret Cloud for Australia’s Defence & National Intelligence Community agencies. The Top Secret Cloud will help Australian agencies securely host, share, and analyze classified data at speed and scale. What’s happening with generative AI in healthcare & life sciences is pretty exciting. Today, EvolutionaryScale launched their cutting-edge ESM3 model for researchers and scientists, and it’s available on Amazon Web Services (AWS). ESM3 has the remarkable ability to generate entirely new proteins that have never existed before, allowing for “programmable biology.” Models like ESM3 have the potential to significantly speed drug discovery timelines and lower costs. The open-source ESM3 is available today through Amazon SageMaker and AWS HealthOmics, with the full model family coming to these services and Amazon Bedrock soon. Congrats to the Anthropic team for raising the bar yet again with the release of their latest foundation model. Claude 3.5 Sonnet has some pretty amazing capabilities, and it’s available now on Amazon Bedrock. The new model is faster and one-fifth the cost of Claude 3 Opus. It also surpasses industry benchmarks on expert knowledge, reasoning, & coding, and has exceptional vision intelligence. In fact, it can accurately interpret charts and graphs and decipher text from imperfect images—very useful for industries like retail and logistics. Think customers will really like having this one avail in Bedrock where they can always get the latest and greatest, and mix and match models as they need. https://lnkd.in/gwBQf8zH

This is an important day in our nation's history. Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. It's a day to celebrate the progress that's been made, and reflect on what has to be done to address the inequality that still exists today. This year’s Juneteenth theme at Amazon is, “Be the Legacy,” which is a challenge for each of us to help create a more just world. One of the most powerful ways we can do this is by using our voice and influence to support and advocate for others. It means being willing to listen, learn, and act—even when it's uncomfortable. We all have an opportunity to help build a more equitable future.

Even though 96% of existing AI/ML unicorns are already AWS customers, we're just getting started. To make it even easier for these innovative companies to grow their big ideas, we’re kicking off a new $230 million commitment for startups around the world to help them build new GenAI solutions. We have a new Region in the works. Amazon Web Services (AWS) will launch the Asia Pacific (Taipei) Region by early 2025. This is a great example of how we're continuing to expand the cloud, making it more accessible, secure, and resilient, for orgs of all sizes.
