Adrian Newey, one of the most brilliant minds in Formula 1, is OFFICIALLY joining Aston Martin in 2025, and the F1 world is buzzing (even though we all kinda saw it coming, right?). Let’s dig into it. There’s A LOT to unpack. 🛠 What does Newey really bring to Aston Martin? 💥 Could he be the “final piece” for championship glory? 🏁 Or… could this be more of a high-stakes gamble for Stroll’s team? Here is my new article for LastWordOnSports.com ! I wanted to talk about the situation of #Alpine after the Monaco Gp. Here is a sneak peek: "But there is one thing that must be kept in mind, regardless of any situation of hostility. Although there may be rivalry between the two teammates, it is always important to try to collaborate within the team. Because when these difficult situations arise, they disrupt the team. This is something that shouldn’t happen, especially in a team that is facing a season that is not at all easy. If there is no harmony and collaboration within the team, you will never be able to compete seriously. Conflicts that should be resolved outside the circuit." #F1 #FIA #EstebanOcon #PierreGasly #Monacogp #collaboration https://lnkd.in/d5mQXh_C

Let make F1 great again: Few suggestion: 1. Qualifying: An F1 driver will have to use one soft tyre and do three fastest laps for qualifying. The average of the three laps will be the driver's qualifying lap and his grid position. 2. Tyre Changes: A team will have to use all three tyres - soft, medium and hard during the race. They can start the race with any compound they want and can even hide from their competitors which compound they are going to start the race with. For wet races this rule can be neglected. 3. Championship points: The points difference between 1 to last position should only be two points. The winner will get 25 points, the second driver will get 23 points and so on. #formula1 #MonacoGP #LewisHamilton

THE MAGIC IS IN THE TEAM! And there is no greater example of this, and great leadership, than Andrea Stella and the McLaren F1 team. After a number of years being towards the back of the grid, McLaren F1 are now returning to winning ways. And this is no flash in the pan. This is quite clearly a run of form that is resulting in very real and sustained success. But it hasn’t happened by accident. It has been carefully planned and patiently executed over a period of time. While a lot of us thought they would never return to winning ways and the glories of their past, like a jigsaw, they have quietly and diligently put together the elements that will do just this. And it is clear to see that great leadership and an absolute unwavering and non-negotiable focus on being a true team is at the forefront of everything they do. How do we know this? The words and actions of their people and their Team Principle Andrea Stella. At the recent Hungarian Grand Prix there was an ‘issue’ with team orders. Lando, who was leading the race, was asked to let his team mate pass. This would have given his team mate Oscar the victory and him yet another second place. It was clear he didn’t really want to. But because of the circumstances in which he got the lead, it was the right thing to do. It was also the right thing to do for the team. The driver’s Race Engineer came on the radio several times to ask him to swap positions and at one point said something like: “You can’t win the championship on your own. You need the team and you will need Oscar at some point. I’m doing this to protect you.” So Lando swapped positions and gave the win to his team mate. He did the right thing for his team mate and the team. He may not have quite seen it in that moment, and may not have experienced it straight away, but taking the win for himself could have had severe consequences. After the race, one of the pundits interviewing the Team Principal Andrea Stella asked: “So what’s the magic?” He was referring to the team’s very noticeable rise back to the top over the previous twelve months or so. And his answer was so simple and yet so powerful. “The magic is in the team!” You see, everything is about people. They do the work, they get the results, they produce the magic, so that is where the magic is. And because of that, the leadership, vision, values and culture needs to be focused on creating and maintaining an environment where everything is about the team; everything is about enabling their collective success; and as a result, no one single person is bigger or more important than the whole team. This is why for every business, every organisation and every leader, the magic is in the team and your focus should be making that happen! So to the McLaren Racing team, keep producing the magic, because it is so working! #leadership #teamwork #values #vision #teamdevelopment #leadershipdevelopment #teamworkmakesthedreamwork #teambuilding #culture

HUGE news in Formula 1 today… an engineer is worth more than a driver… Doubtless you’ll read more about this today, so I’ll keep this short and interesting. Adrian Newey is leaving Red Bull and going to Aston Martin. This means: -$200 million over 5 years contract ($40mil/year) -25 championships under his belt -Highest paid non-driver in F1 history -If he WAS a driver, he’d be the 3rd highest paid. Don’t believe that last one, let me show you: 1. Lewis Hamilton - $55 million 2. Max Verstappen - $45 million 3. ➡️Adrian Newey - $40 million ⬅️ 4. Fernando Alonso - $24 million 5. Charles Leclerc - $19 million He’s now paid more than Aston Martins own driver Fernando Alonso! One more wild stat, of the 20 drivers on the grid, if you added up the yearly pay for the bottom 11, Adrian Newey would still be making more than them COMBINED. To say Aston Martin is committed to winning would be the understatement of the year.

When was the last time you rolled the dice and got it wrong? For the 2024 #F1 season Sauber decided to make significant changes to their pit stops, hoping to produce quicker stops. As the somewhat observant viewer may have noticed, that backfired. Big time. https://lnkd.in/exTZJ6NK In the first few races of the season the team has had pit stops that lasted up to 50 seconds (where the average pit stop takes less than 3 seconds). Obviously, 50-second pit stops aren't good. They're actually really, really bad. However, I kind of appreciate the fact that Sauber took a gamble. They didn't just change their pit stop procedure, but opted for completely new materials as well. I won't deny that it looked a little silly, seeing them fumbling around with cross-threading wheel nuts for almost a full minute. Sauber is a backmarker team though. It's very very hard to make a difference when your car simply isn't as fast as the competition, so you need to have an innovative mindset. You need to find those marginal gains that could mean the difference between P7 and P9 in the constructor's championship, especially with very few points up for grabs for teams toward the back. I think it is a great example of how to maintain a high performance culture. As Graeme K Hackland taught me: high performance cultures aren't about winning. If they were, then the majority of the F1 teams wouldn't have high performance cultures because they never win. It's about marginal gains, future focus, and trying to be better every single time. Sauber clearly got this wrong, and it will take them a while to recover from that mistake. But I truly hope it doesn't stop them from trying new things to be better and faster. Fingers crossed their pit crew doesn't lose its confidence, and they'll smash it next time around in China! #JapaneseGP #HighPerformance #Innovation
