🚀 Terraform: Current State vs. Desired State 🌍 In the world of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Terraform helps us manage our infrastructure efficiently. Two key concepts are the current state and the desired state. Let’s break them down! 📊 Current State: The current state is the actual setup of your infrastructure right now. Terraform keeps track of this in a state file, which tells Terraform what resources it has created and what their configurations are. 🌟 Desired State: The desired state is what you want your infrastructure to look like, defined in your Terraform configuration files. It’s like a blueprint for your ideal setup. 🔄 How Terraform Works: 1)Planning: Terraform compares the current state with the desired state and creates a plan to show what changes need to be made. 2)Applying: Terraform makes those changes to ensure the current state matches the desired state. 🔄 Example: resource "aws_s3_bucket" "example" {  bucket = "my-terraform-bucket"  acl  = "private" } Here, the desired state is an S3 bucket named my-terraform-bucket with private access. 🔄 Real-World Scenario: If you make changes directly in the AWS console (like changing settings of an S3 bucket), these changes won’t be in Terraform’s state file. When you run terraform apply, Terraform will overwrite these manual changes to match the desired state in your configuration files. 🎯 Key Points: Current State is the actual infrastructure setup. Desired State is what you define in your Terraform files. Terraform ensures the current state matches the desired state, even if manual changes were made in the AWS console. How to become successful DevOps engineer? There is one important rule: Newer give up! Try make your infrastructure better every day! Maybe you start working in a new company, maybe all pipelines and automation broken, maybe your coworkers have no idea how manage all this stuff, just not give up, and step by step improve everything that you see. After one day you will see that there is no result, after one week you will see the same, but after one month you will see nice changes around, and one year it will be perfect place for your work. #DevOps #success #approach #infrastructure
