🚨 We are happy to introduce one of our Editorial Board Members Dr. Brent Edwards Ph.D.. Brent Edwards is the Director of the National Acoustic Laboratories, an Australian Federal Government centre for research on hearing loss, where he leads research and innovation initiatives that focus on transforming hearing healthcare. For over 20 years he headed research and technology at major hearing aid companies (GN ReSound, Starkey) and at Silicon Valley startups that developed innovative technologies and clinical tools used worldwide. Dr. Edwards founded and ran the Starkey Hearing Research Center in Berkeley, California that was a leading site for research in hearing impairment and cognition. Dr. Edwards is a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America, a Fellow and current President of the International Collegium of Research Audiology, an Adjunct Professor at Macquarie University and at the University of Queensland.

🚨We are happy to introduce one of our Editorial Board Members. Dr. Linda Thibodeau has been a Professor at the University of Texas at Dallas in the Audiology Doctoral program since 1996. Dr. Thibodeau’s research at the Callier Clinical Research Center involves evaluation of the speech perception of listeners with hearing loss and auditory processing problems as well as evaluation of amplification systems and hearing assistance technology. Most recently, she has been exploring the benefits of early music training on language and melodic perception in infants/toddlers with typical and atypical hearing. She has received funding from the National Institutes of Health, Deafness Research Foundation, National Organization of Hearing Research, Texas Medical Research Council, and the Office of Special Education for her research. Dr. Thibodeau received the Cheryl DeConde Johnson Award and the Frederick S. Berg Award in recognition of Outstanding Achievement in Educational Audiology, and the Ear and Hearing Readers’ Choice award for her work on the effects of facemasks on speech recognition. As part of her teaching, she provides real-world opportunities for students to connect with teens, couples, and families who experience the challenges of hearing loss. Dr. Thibodeau has served as co-chair of the ANSI committee for Electroacoustic Evaluation of Hearing Assistive Devices/Systems, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Academy of Rehabilitative Audiology, and President of the Academy of Rehabilitative Audiology. 🚨We are happy to introduce one of our Editorial Board Members. Dawna Lewis, PhD, is a Research Scientist at Boys Town National Research Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Lewis is involved in research addressing issues related to amplification and speech understanding in children, including the impact of hearing loss on children’s speech understanding in complex environments. Currently, Dr. Lewis is involved in NIH-supported grants addressing 1) listening skills in children who are hard of hearing, 2) clinical tools for managing children with mild hearing loss, and 3) emotion perception and production in children who use cochlear implants.
