Dear Colleagues,
Large language models are increasingly being adopted in real-world applications, driving significant advancements across multiple sectors. This Special Issue will provide a platform to share practical experiences, innovative solutions, and lessons learned from deploying LLMs. By gathering high-quality research, we aim to facilitate knowledge exchange and promote the adoption of LLMs in diverse fields. We welcome articles focused on the following relevant topics:
- Breakthroughs in LLM algorithms and architectures;
- Real-world case studies of LLM deployment;
- Optimization techniques for performance and efficiency;
- LLMs in low-resource settings and languages;
- Cross-disciplinary applications of LLMs;
- Security and privacy concerns in LLM applications;
- Future trends and predictions in LLM development;
- LLMs in healthcare.
Submissions on other topics that are in accordance with the theme of this Special Issue are also welcome and may take the form of original research articles, review articles, or opinions on methodologies or applications.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
