Origen was founded by preeminent thinkers in carbon removal and industrial technology, who believed in the power of limestone to permanently sequester CO₂ and reverse the impacts of climate change. They developed the first iteration of Origen's technology and proved that our concept for limestone-based direct air capture (DAC) could be used to remove billions of tonnes of CO₂ from the atmosphere.

Today Origen is poised to deploy limestone-based carbon removal at scale. Over the last several years, Origen has built an industrial scale pilot, R&D facility, and commercial partnerships with industry leaders to develop the next generation of DAC.

With DAC and carbon removal now considered “inevitable” to mitigate the worst impacts of climate change, Origen’s next phase of growth will create a lasting impact by removing CO₂ directly from the air at meaningful scale.
