The Partysquad

Dutch electronic dance outfit the Partysquad are known for their high-energy club tracks, blending pop, hip-hop, trap, garage, and R&B. They released their debut album, De bazen van de club, in 2006 and have scored over ten Dutch Top 40 hits, including "I'm Sorry," "Stuk," "Ik ha hard," and "Lit." They also helm their own Rebel Yard label under Spinnin' Records and curated the 2018 album Nachtwacht. They have remained dance chart regulars with singles like 2021's "Wat heb je nodig," 2023's Niet naar huis, and 2024's "Warrior." Hailing from Amsterdam, the Partysquad initially featured the production talents of DJ Jerry (Jerry Leembruggen) and MC Ruben (Ruben Fernhout). The pair met in 1998 during a talent search tour. Signing to the Good Life label, they released their first single, "Wat wil je doen," in 2005, hitting number 12 on the Dutch charts; it was also used in the film Het Schnitzelparadijs. More Top 40 singles followed, including "I'm Sorry" (with RMXCRW and Gio) and "Non Stop" (featuring Brainpower), all of which paved the way for the duo's debut album, 2006's De bazen van de club. By 2008, the Partysquad had scored yet more hits, joining forces with Afrojack for "Drop Down (Do My Dance)" and reaching number 11 on the Dutch charts with "Stuk" (featuring Dio, Sef, Sjaak, and Reverse). However, poised for global success, the duo's plans were put on hold after DJ Jerry was left in a coma following a car accident. He eventually recovered and they returned to the charts, again collaborating with Afrojack on the song "A Msterdamn." In 2009, they signed with Diplo's Mad Decent label and released the EP Hollertronix #10. More EPs followed, including 2012's Badman Rave and 2014's Wake M' Up, as did more Top 20 hits, including "Ik ga hard" (with Adje, Gers, Jayh, and Reverse), "Helemaal naar de klotem" (with Jayh, Sjaak, and Reverse), and "Lit" (featuring Equalz). They also launched their own Rebel Yard imprint under Spinnin' Records, working with artists like Armand Van Helden, A-Trak, Boaz, Major Lazer, M.I.A., and others. In 2018, they curated the album Nachtwacht, compiling tracks by Outsiders, Mr. Polska, Ronnie Flex, and more. The Partysquad expanded into a trio with the addition of MC Laurent (Lorenzo Biemans) in 2021. More standalone singles followed, including 2022's "Warrior" and "Hardcore Life."
