Para su decimocuarto álbum, el venerable grupo de heavy metal abandona Roadrunners Records y se pasa a Tradecraft, el sello de Dave Mustaine, el líder de la banda. El grupo retiene, sin embargo, los servicios del productor Johnny K (Disturbed, Staind), ya responsable de aumentar el volumen sónico de Th1rt3en (2011). Super Collider posee sin duda un sonido enorme y arrollador, pero desgraciadamente deja mucho que desear a nivel de contenidos y composición.
