After emerging from a prison stint that lasted from 2016 to 2018, Baton Rouge rapper Fredo Bang kicked off a prolific run of melodic, trap-based mixtape releases that attracted a crop of famous guests and the attention of Def Jam. Signing with the label, he issued 2020's Most Hated. Featuring Tee Grizzley, YNW Melly, Moneybagg Yo, DaBaby, and CeeFineAss, the set also included viral hits "Yo Slime" and "Get Even." Upon release, Most Hated became the emcee's first appearance on the Billboard 200.
