A community for the discussion of Battlegrounds, a mode in Hearthstone which features 8-player autobattles with minions and heroes from Hearthstone and Warcraft Lore.
PSA: Using the +3/+5 and stealth spellcraft on a minion that had permastealth (like Cultist) removes the stealth next turn.
Idk if this is well known or not and might seem obvious to some but I got the stealth spellcraft off the 3 random spellcraft tavern spell and decided to use it on the Cultist and next turn it was no longer stealthed.
I guess it makes sense in hindsight and its not an interaction you'll run into often but posting it here so others avoid making this mistake.
Does this make sense?! No I never knew this! Sounds like a bug - why would the spellcraft have a permanent effect? Whole point is they aren’t without tech.
It appears that the "until next turn" part of giving stealth overrides the regular stealth
This is a bug, or else every other interaction where this doesn't happen (particularly taunt) is a bug

The two buffs should stack (which should have no actual end effect), not cancel each other out or override

I remember something exactly like this happening but can’t find anything about it, weird
I believe there was a similar bug with the T2 huran which would loose the shield if you put gem on him after you shielded him elseway
Don't forget the bug where you could give reborn to a minion that keeps its enchantments when reborn so it would be IMMORTAL
The quest reward that stealthed + gave 6 health to your rightmost minion would remove the permanent stealth from stealth minions too. It’s key phrase was also “until next turn”
To be fair, the same bug showing up is pretty common. It’s probably OoP, so many bugs will be pretty persistent and hard to squash. I mean, small indie company smh
That’s just some lame spaghetti code, now they will add another if statement to it and it will be perfect!

this has to be unintended
In the same game, this happened to me (wanted to buff cultist for a turn). And another thing happened that lost me the fight.
The buddy that copy all the deathrattles at the start of combat doesnt copy leeroy's deathrattle.
Oh and one more interaction that won me other game easily. The buddy that says "battlecry: refresh your hero power" is busted if nagas or dragons are in. And a good enough with beasts. You can easily refresh your hero power 3 times per turn.. there was a turn i used my hero power 5 times (it was really long turn) and that was like 50 more golds than i started the turn with. The game ended on turn 12 i think
This is the most clear example of a bug. Hope they fix it
Didn’t this minion exist alongside stealthed minions before? Maybe not… in which case I guess this is the first time the two mechanics would be interacting. In any case, that’s such a silly interaction lol
