save file editing for DS ROMs
hey, i'm playing the game ghost trick rn with melonDS emulator and i loaded the wrong save, now i'm 5 chapters behind where i was and i'm not too fond on the idea of redoing it all- are there any save editors for DS games that i could use to try change the chapter manually? i opened the save file in HxD but had no idea what i was doing, so is there anything more user friendly? thanks in advance
If you are looking for roms: Go to the link in https://www.reddit.com/r/Roms/comments/m59zx3/roms_megathread_40_html_edition_2021/
You can navigate by clicking on the various tabs for each company.
When you click on the link to Github the first link you land on will be the Home tab, this tab explains how to use the Megathread.
There are Five tabs that link directly to collections based on console and publisher, these include Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Sega, and the PC.
There are also tabs for popular games and retro games, with retro games being defined as older than Gamecube and DS.

Most utilities like that require some sort of hex editing or assembly knowledge. Sometimes you get lucky and someone makes a specialized tool for specific games but it's rare. It's possible that one of these tools can help but I can't guarantee that. https://www.romhacking.net/?page=utilities&category=&platform=23&game=&author=&os=&level=&title=&perpage=200&utilsearch=Go
Sorry I can't help more.
thanks for the help ππ
If I remember right, I think Ghost Trick has a chapter select menu; so you could download a completed save file and then select the chapter you want to play.
this fixed it, thanks for saving me hours of replaying the game ππ (for anyone potentially using this in future, that save file is for the USA version of the game specifically)
