Advice on quitting church
So, with your talk of “American Christianity” I’m going to assume you’ve attended Baptist or Non-Denom churches. I don’t say this to blast them. You even said your previous churches were great. So I’m not trying to offend my Christian brothers and sisters of that leaning.
With that said, have you ever thought about visiting a church from one of the mainline Protestant denominations, mainly Methodist (I know, I know), Episcopalian, Lutheran (wink), or Presbyterian?
I’m not saying those churches will be free from what you have unfortunately experienced, but just the visiting of the different churches might reignite your wife’s interest in attending church again.
